I just found this site and hope someone can advise me -
I am currently struggling to pay credit card debt that I
had to obtain to take care of grandchildren. My monthly
payments are a real hardship as my earnings have been
reduced. I talked to a consumer credit counselor who
recommended a debt management plan, but the payments
will only be about $40 less than the regular monthly total
I am barely able to pay now. Is there another way, short
of bankruptcy?

debt settlement can lower your payment by 40 to 60%. This debt solution is regarded as an option to avoid bankruptcy. But let me also tell you that debt settlement can negatively affect your credit score by a significant amount.

If you want to avoid going to any debt settlement company then you can yourself follow the following steps as said in the following page: -
Step by Step Guide for settling your debts

You can also go through the different debt solutions available to you from the following page: -
