I called redline and asked how much to settle a debt. They gave me an amount and I gave them permission to remove this much from checking. The amount was to be removed Friday the 24 of June. It was not removed according to my account info.
I have now learned about how bad redline is. Should I stop payment on the check if possible on Monday and contact redline about how to proceed and protect me.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forums..!!

The company that you???re speaking about, Redline Recovery Services is a receivable management company and it specializes in offering debt collection and recovery services. Customers, who have already worked with this debt collection agency, have expressed their negative opinion about the same. Threatening debtors, showing an unprofessional attitude, withdrawing money in an unauthorized way from the debtor???s bank account and trying to collect an old debt are some of the deceptive practices that are adopted by the collection agents working in this particular company.

Stop paying the check from Monday, 27th of June and first know about your consumer rights. It is very important to understand who???s speaking with you on the other end of the phone. It has been seen that a quarter of debt collectors in Redline Recovery Services are categorized in unpaid credit card bill collection while the other 15% work in hospitals and doctor???s offices. If you want to know more about the rights that you may exercise if the Redline Recovery harasses you, you may visit http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/redlinerecovery-services.html

Hope this will help you..!!

You can contact Redline regarding this matter. But I would suggest you to not make any kind of payment to them without signing a written agreement. It is good that they have not yet removed the money from your account. If you really owe a debt, then make a written settlement agreement with them. Read through the contract and pay the money through money order or a check.
