After I explained my unemployment situation and struggling financially to them, the representative said, "You had your chance. We can take you to court."

Would you share with me what my options are please.

well if they said that then wait.per the FDCPA they have 30 days

well if they said that then wait.per the FDCPA they have 30 days to file suit.if they don't that is a violation.have you received anything in writing?if not don't just pay a voice over the phone.demand something in writing first.if they have sent something send them a DV(debt validation)letter certified mail return receipt.btw if this is NORTHSTAR LOCATION.they are a bottomfeeder that will not sue,but they threaten it.
