Has anyone else settled with BOFA recently, and if so how much did you settle for? By the way, that's 25% of the full debt including all late fees and interest accrued since we stopped paying them back in february. (about $900 worth of fees/interest)

I would try to work out a settlement in 3 or 4 payments if you can swing it, even if you have to borrow from relatives. They will send your account to CollectCorp. who are a nightmare!

Yes, BOA settling for 25% is a great thing. Don't let it go out of the hand. That means, don't let them sell the account. It would be tough for you to settle with the collection agency. Seek out funds from some sources known to you and pay them off. Ask for a payment plan.

Take it. That's a great offer! They will give you 90 days to pay in full, with a first installment due within 10 days.

We didn't settle with boa after an offer of 30% and they sent it to recovery and never again offered that settlement. They increased it then sent it to an attorney and we ended up settling for 40%. If you can swing the 25% in any way I would do that.

That offer is about as good as it gets!
I settled for 30.1% and was mighty happy to kill boa-the snake.

It is really a good news that BOA has agreed to take only 25% of the loan amount. You should try to pay off the debt as soon as possible. Once your account is sold off to the collection agency, it will be very difficult for you to settle the debt. Therefore, seek out funds from your friends and family and pay off the loan.
