Allied is one of the largest collection agencies in the country, if not the largest. They have offices in many major cities in the US. They are known for having hundreds of agents, some trained and some not. They will respond to professional and well written letters in most cases. Be professional, polite and firm and you will get results if you send to the proper location. If you live in Florida it is not likely that the Minnesota office is handling your case. It will be the office in your home state as that is the venue that they will proceed in if it comes to filing a suit. If not in your state, your region. I have dealt with them before.

Allied is a CA and doesnt file suit...they outsource to legal offices. The different offices around the country collect on different account....Minnesota does student loans and government accounts for the whole country. Another office handles 1st placement AMEX, Citibank and Discover. Another office skiptraces. It is more than likely that it will NOT be in the office in your home state.

NCO is the largest collection agency in the US and possibly the world.
