I recieved a letter stating they either want a court date with trial, or admit to the debt. 3000.00.
It is my debt but I truly can not pay it right now. Should I call them and tell them that?

you can check with your court clerk to see if a lawsuit was filed.either way i do want to know as soaplady does who sent that letter, but check on that first as if there is no suit then there are a couple of ways you can proceed.you need to find out through your court clerk if there is a suit before you do anything else.

OK, as soaplady has said, we really do need more info to be able to help you better on this. What state do you live in? The laws are different in every state. Also, please tell us more about this letter--who sent it, what is written on it, etc. Did it arrive by regular mail? There may be lots of things you can do to handle this, but we cannot help without more information. Please get back to us.
