WTG Dixie!!! Can you please give me a little insight on how you dealt with these people? I just closed my checking account and I got a sample letter from someone on here to send out to these companies which I plan on doing. I'm just curious what your experience was. Did you have to pay them more money or had you already overpaid them? Were they legal companies? I've been told that the companies that I have loans with are not legally licensed, what kind of recourse do I have? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Tina, you can expect them to be rude to you, and make threats. Just know that if they are illegal/not licensed they are just trying to scare you. Don't let them intimidate you.

You've done the right thing by closing your checking account. Just get those letters mailed off and you will be on your way. Remember to send them certified if you can so that you have proof they received them. :)

How do I get their physical addresses? I only have one of the e-mail addresses of the one company and was planning on sending it via e-mail, guess that's not a good idea? Is their a website or something where I can find out their addresses or phone numbers? And the other question I have is how to figure out how much you are supposed to pay. The sample letter that I received quotes the AZ laws regarding PDL's and I haven't been able to come up with the amount that she has on the letter. For example, I have paid 350.00 on a 200.00 loan and she is saying that the amount that I have paid so far is 96.75 over what I should have paid. Does anyone know how to figure that out? Sorry is I sound stupid

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info Jessi, any guidance on how to address the money owed part? When we take out a $200.00 loan for example, and the company that we borrow from are illegal, what recourse do we have. For instance, on My Payday Loan Yes loan, I borrowed $200.00 and they have taken out $215.00 out of my account so far. Does that mean that I am already paid in full with them? I just don't understand how this all works. I know I must sound like such an idiot for taking out all of these loans without even fully understanding how they work. I guess when we feel that desperate and someone is dangling an "easy $200.00" over your head, you grab the $200.00 and ask questions later.

This is AZ loans. Since your companies are unlicensed, however if you've paid back what you borrowed, I would ask for a PIF.
