Those using T&C please reassure me how wonderful they are to work with...please! I sent in my retainer fee on Friday and called today to check on how the status is going and what they have found out from my PDLs.

The girl was sort of rude and said they were sending letters out, but weren't planning to call the PDLs. I told her that I sent specific information about a couple of lenders who have already contacted me and are expecting to receive a FAX/call from my contact at T&C.

They sound harried and not nearly as professional as the people I spoke with at the 800 number -- the ones trying to sell you on their service. Maybe I'm just being antsy since I'm in default w/the PDS as of Friday.

I just don't feel like I'm getting all that great customer service so far...and it seems like they're taking their time getting my program going. They must know that they're not going to get a payment from me if they don't get cracking and get those proposals approved.

Tell me how the timing was with your program when you first got started with T&C. It seems that they should be a bit more on the ball by now -- they had most of the day Friday, all day yesterday, and most of the day today to contact my PDLs...I even provided direct lines and contact names where I had them.

The addresses were a bitch to look up, and I'm a bit concerned that they aren't calling to verify these addresses before sending out debt verification letters and proposals. Seems like any mistakes or wrong addresses could really delay things.

Both gals I have spoken with at the 205 number for paying clients have been less than helpful/friendly. I think I just need some reassurance.

Please don't have a bad feeling about them. I know from experience that they are wonderful and really do help.

Sometimes when I call there I get a girl (who I will not name) that can be sort of rude and short with me but I always try to talk to Jessica F. who has been nothing but professional and very very helpful. Please do not let one person spoil your opinion of them. I always ask who I am talking to so I can document my call and I have actually complained about the rude one.

Once our information was sent in it took maybe 10 days to really get the ball rolling on the pdls. If you provided them with fax numbers call back and ask them to fax the proposals or call the companies so they know what is happening with your account.

T&C is much busier now than they were when we first signed up with them but believe me the wait is worth it and they really do care about their customers.

Be patient with them and hang in there. It will be worth it in the long run, I promise. :)

There have been mixed responses about this company. I will insist you to stick on your plans and have everything confirmed by the company before you make a payment.

Remember, you are paying T&C for the services they will offer you. So, they need to be polite and professional with you. If you take my suggestion, try contacting the payday loan companies on your own and arrange a payment plan with them. You will get better results that what T&C will deliver to you.

I have absolutely no complaints with T&C. They have been a tremendous help. Once they received the retainer, it took about a week to a week and a half for everything to get going. Don't give up on them. Some of my creditors were very impatient and I called T&C and my counselor took care of them while they put me on hold. I think us 3 have gotten the same girl that is rude. I only got her once.

John I'm sorry but I disagree with you that you will get better results alone than with T&C. I cannot imagine what I pdl company would accept me sending them $20 or $30 per month as they have with T&C. Plus the fact that the pdl companies would be calling constantly if the payment was late. Plus how would I pay them, by check, NO, by money order, YES but I would have to pay for each and every money order and it would be a hassle to have to go get the money orders. I may be paying a fee to T&C but it is worth my time and the hassle I would have if I would have tried to do this on my own.

I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if you are not with T&C and don't know how wonderful they are then you really can't say people will get better results without them. I'm sorry but your comments don't see very fair to me. Everyone can have a bad day and be rude, how many times have you gone to Walmart or McDonalds and had someone rude to you, LOTS of times I would bet.

Please don't bash on T&C if you aren't working with them. I think most of the responses about this company on this board have been positive.

T&C is wonderful!! IT took a few weeks for a couple of the pdls to accept the proposal but they did. And T&C went out of their way to pay one of my personal loans I have - they took the payment to the local office in Birmingham and had the payment creited to my aaccount the same day so it wouldn't go into collections. It took maybe two weeks for the creditors to get back with T&C. I had a wrong address for one, called T&C and asked them to send the proposal to right address amd asked if they would call them for a fax number to fax the proposal. Hust be patient you will feel relieved once the ball starts rolling :)

Ok...ok...
I feel a lot better now...I think I'm mainly just anxious to get the ball rolling...and they're swamped b/c of the positive mentions on this board :)!

I'll try to be patient until the end of the week. If I don't hear from them by then, I'll call back. Otherwise, I'll just chill out and let them do their thing!

It is hard to not be impatient at the beginning, but as others wrote I've had pretty good luck. I had two creditors that were pretty rude, and when I called T&C they called the companies the same day.

The only problems I've had have been trying to get through on the phone, and when I added a pdl that had been left out of the original contract the data entry person put it in as a regular loan so it really skewed the monthly payment. Had that fixed the same day.

Has anyone else figured out how much T&C does get out of the payments? The retainer is returned at the end of your time in their program, I think for myself they might be getting about $5 a month? Not much for all the work they do intercepting phone calls and letters from creditors imo.

Well it seems to me at least PDL companies accept T&C's proposals. I use CCCS/MMI and none of the PDL companies have accepted their proposals, including the store-front ones!!! Proposals either got rejected or are still pending although it's been over 3 months. I am not happy with CCCS/MMI. They are not assertive enough either.

I think they get a percentage of what you owe as their fee. Honestly I don't even care what the fee is because they are the ones dealing with all the BS for me and I don't even have to think about it. If someone calls me I just call them and have them call back whoever has called me and they take care of it. It's so worth it to me. No way would I have wanted to go it alone or would I even have had a clue how to go it alone with all of our pdl's.

Before I found this site I had no clue that anyone would even be able to help me deal with the pdl's, I thought bankruptcy was the only way and that is so so wrong to me that I had no clue what we were going to do. I think a lot of us on this site feel good about how T&C has been able to help us, good enough to recommend them to many others who are now their customers.

Sorry I'll get off my soapbox now (sometimes I think I should get a commission for as much as I recommend them :) )

Sue

I have had a pretty positive experience w/T&C. I totally understand where you are about wanting things to move faster but you just need to trust that they will take care of it for you. I sent my initial fee to them on April 14 and they still don't have all of the proposals signed yet. My impression is that they mail/fax the proposals out and then try to wait for the PDL companies to contact them. They will call any lenders that are calling you and causing you stress. All you have to do is call and ask them to call that specific lender and they will. I think I have had the unfortune to speak with the rude person also but for the most part everyone is very helpful. Be patient it will all work out.

Could someone please PM me T&C contact info? Also, if you could PM specifics regarding their fees....I am signed with another CCS at this time, but I am not very happy with their level of service, and I am paying what I think are pretty hefty fees. Thanks so much, Melissa

Ever since I sent them my contract and retainer fee about a week ago, I haven't gotten a call from any of the pdl's...so maybe they were able to negotiate something for me.
Haven't heard from T&C, but giving them some time to get things together.
It's nice when the phone doesn't ring at all hours!

We also had some misgivings about T&C after beginning the process. We are still having some problems with some of the operators. When we asked them to call a certain creditor who was giving us problems they said they would, and then never called. But after two weeks we know that at least one of the pdl's has accepted the proposal so that lifted a wieght off our shoulders.

I contacted T&C last week about consolidation for $4500 worth of PDL's (14 total) and spoke to a very professional female. Unfortunately they cannot help me because I am a NC resident. Does anyone have any other suggestions? My checking account will be closed in 2 days and the calls will start coming in. I will contact all of PDL lenders personally in the next few days to see if something can be worked out. I googled Hess Kennedy, which I have heard mentioned a couple of times in this forum, but I could not find any information about them.

wswofford here w/an update...
Just heard back from T&C...three of my PDLs have agreed to take part in the program and the proposals have been mailed.

I know she said ameriloan and Worldwide Cash, but can't remember the other...maybe Cash Advance Now? She still has to get in touch w/Premier Processing, Cash Doctors, and Platinum Bs collection agency. Think that's it...need to look at my list now that Quick Payday and GW Financial zero'd my balance yesterday!

I've noticed that the only settlement company praised here is T & C. I'm wondering if you guys work for the company.

Also, I called T & C and they basically asked how much I owed and who I owed. I didn't have all the information at my disposal, but told them some of the creditors I owed. The representative faxed me a contract and told me to write down any other creditor I owed. What I found peculiar was when I received the fax it already had a contract payment amount for the creditors I mentioned to her. What happened to contacting the creditors and negotiating on my behalf for a smaller amount?

Something smells fishy about this company and this forum that boasts about T & C. I won't totally discount T & C just yet, but I am definitely going to do my due diligence.

(btw what's the big secret with posting the company's phone number?)

It's not a big secret just the policy of the board. I've been with T&C since December and have had nothing but luck with them. They are not a settlement company or consolidation company - they are a debt management company. It is not "fishy" but do your due diligence so you feel comfortable with them, I know I did. They will come highly recommended off this forum from a lot of us and if you feel like it take our recommendations. The contract payment on the contract was an estimate and it will go either up or down depending on your creditors. You should also receive a call from an associated company now that you have become a member of the forum. Do whatever you are comfortable with, I went with T&C because of payday loans. Good luck.

I looked up t & c and while I have not used them yet, I plan on using them, because I have no choice they are part of the BBB, and basically if there is no way out with pdls, I would suggest that you (rudy) give them a chance. my situation keeps getting worse, and I am sure like anyone that has pdls will continue to get worse. does anyone have addresses

how does t & c help with the pdls situation, do they pay them and you do the negotiating or do they do that and is it one payday at a time or a bunch of several ones I am confused after reading all the emails

Settlement - they will negotiate an amount to pay off the bill - your credit report will most likely read "settled".

Management - they negotiate a payment to your creditors and you send the $$ to the debt management company and they pay the creditors. Accounts are generally paid in full.

Here's the address for UCL:

2533 N Carson Street Suite 5020
Carson City NE 89706
fax 800-803-9137

You can search for the other companies on here and bbb.org and find the addresses - others may have those but I don't.

Rudy---When I first went with T&C I gave them the majority of my loans &CC information and approx. owed. They then sent a contract with the payment amount. I believe that this is what they propose initially to the creditors (and not always what the creditors accept) and that is the amount given to you. My payment amount has changed quite a bit as different collectors counter offer with alternate monthly payments they will accept.
