i have 3 payday loans of 600 each I have been paying on them for 1 year 400 per month of interest. I cant see to ever have money to pay them off. what happens if i dont pay them and then just start making payments? Will I go to jail? I live in Houston TX

I have many internet loans. I live in California. The loan payments are due thursday and I am going to close my bank account before they can debit my account the fees. Is this the best way to handle this? How do I find out in california if the internet companies are legal? Thanks for the help!!!

Wow, you folks seem to be on the ball about this. I have two internet lenders. They are;
1. 300.00 they have multiple names. It lists as VIP on the echeck...qloot on my phone and DMA Financial, Inc. for email. 90 interest every other week-- nothing toward principle
2. 500.00 from CCS Loan Company. 125 every other week plus 10% toward loan.

The first I've had nearly a year...I just can't get ahead enough to pay them down. the other I've had 3 months. I have lost my job and can't afford to pay them. Number two I am willing to pay the balance in installments, but not at this rate. Number 1 I've just had enough of. Both are in violation of my state law on interest I think (Tennessee). However, my bank is in Alabama. Still they don't seem to be in line with the law there either. All that said, can I stop payment on them?

Texas is a non garnishment state. VIP/qloot is not a licensed lender in TX, so read the first page of this thread, there is an outline on how to deal with illegal lenders.

Can you tell me what CCS stands for and if there is a dba name for them, I have never heard of them and upon searching for them in the TX licensee data base they didn't appear to be listed, nor were they listed as a CSO, so, I am wondering if perhaps they go by another name? I just want to be sure before determine if they are legal or not.

Tell the companies you don't have the money and that you want to work out a payment arrangement. They'll get it back three times the amount you owe them if they take you to court. So, I've learned the hard way, that it's much easier to face your problems, it will work out in the end.;)

You should pay off the bank so that your account gets positive. After that you should check out if payday loans are legal in your state. If they are illegal, then you need to pay off the principal balance only. If you're unable to pay the principal balance, then you may take the help of payday loan consolidation.

well seeing as both loans are d/b/a's of MTE and totally illegal not only do only owe the principle, but they can't have you arrested.also anything they say don't believe as again totally illegal, and can't/won't do anything they threaten.file AG complaints against both illegals.then ignore them.since they want to break the law with threats then they get jack.

This really depends on what state you live in. But the majority of them have a law that restrict them from even "threatening" you about criminal charges brought against you. Check into as they may be threatening you illegally and probably are because they will do anything and say whatever to scare you into paying up.

My thoughts are that IF it is an unlicensed payday loan lender, the loans are illegal loans. I would contact the Attorney's General Office to make sure, tell them you just found out that the payday loan agents you've received loans from are not licensed in the state, that you are concerned with fraud, and ask them what you should do. I don't want to say "don't pay them," without you being sure this is a recommended course of action. Second option is to use this information to negotiate a settlement.

Loans are a civil matter. Effect credit score yes. Go to jail, no. You only go to jail for criminal offenses, unless I missed something in law school.

if the lender is illegal they can't report on your credit.if they do then it can be easily disputed off.it worked for me and others.so since this thread is mostly about illegal online lenders they can't legally report on your CR.

I have two loans. One is Cashnet USA for $1250 and other is an installment loan with Check N Go for $2100. Both are online loans. I am in Ohio. I am over my head with this installment loan. Help me please! What are my options. I am willing to pay the money owed, just the interest is going to kill me. Lesson learned. I receive SSDI from my past employment.

You all need to re-read your loan agreements if your unsure about what might happen vs what will happen.

Short term lenders such as Advance AMerica, Check into Cash want to keep all loans and issues regarding those loans behind the doors as much as possiable. In your loan contarct you can read that the company whats to keep an agreement that neither party or parties will sew or file a claim. They have all attentions to keep this rapped up behind closed doors between you and them.

My experiances is that honesty is better than just no conatct at all. I explained my issues and they explained what they must do as well. They will attepmt to cash the check in your account in which will have fee's

After that they will help you by getting the check paid off in full as soon as possiable. They would like for you to have it paid off in 4 or fewer payments.

If you haven't before another option is go in before your due date and request a payment agreement. This will set up up on a payment plan but will help avoid all the fee's.

To do that you must do it only one every 7 loan terms. that means if your on your 3rd loan term you have to wait tell you borrow 4 more times and wait the required 7 day waiting period then you can reborrow and do another payment agreement.

On the payment agreement I would wait tell you really need it. |I mean if you can pay it off then do so.
