I have posted a few times on this site and thought I had found the help I needed but contacted one company that said they cannot help me because my PDL's are mostly storefront except for two of them. The other company I called said that they are not sure how they can help me and that they need to check on a few things and get back with me. I thought there was a silver lining here, but it just feels like it's raining on my head again :( My husband and I cannot afford to pay the fees for our PDL's anymore. As of right now, if we are late with the rent one more time, we are evicted. If we are late with our car payments, the repo man is coming. Our credit cards are already in collections because we had to pay PDL fees and couldn't afford to pay them. I really am a smart person, but PDL's are probably the dumbest things I have ever did. Does ANYONE know where I can get help with mostly storefront PDL's? I have 4 and my husband has 4. I also have two internet loans. One is with Authorized Payday and the other is with United Cash Loans, which I have heard horror stories about and regardless, they aren't even licensed to do business in Virginia. ANy advice on any of this would be great. My husband and I are both fairly young and would like to start a family, buy a house, etc., but it is not humanly possible with these awful PDL's hanging over our heads. So I say again, any advice at all would be most appreciated. Thank you :)

Stop paying them and get your rent and car payment made. If they are debiting your checking account, close it and open another one at another bank. Go to the storefronts and tell them you need some time to get caught up and that you will work out a payment plan with them as soon as you can. If they see that you are willing to do that, they may work with you. Do you know what virgina's law is as far as payday loans. You may have already paid enough. I will look for the law for you and post it. You may have to seek credit counselling on the credit cards, there is a link on this page for free counselling.

You need to make yourself feel strong and stand as an informed consumer in front of the pdl companies. They will continue to make their money unless you oppose and show them the laws applicable in your state. Most of them are famous for doing illegal business. United Cash Loans is definitely one of them. They are a big scam.

What state are you in? You need to be aware of the laws in your state that must be followed by the online companies.

who are your storefront loans with? And have you thought of closing your bank account and opening a new one? I had to do this. I did however contact my storefront payday loans and let them know that they were going to get their checks back. I let them deposit them. I too have 10 internet and 7 storefront. I also got caught in the trap and am digging myself out. I made arrangements with my storefront loans and are paying them off first. I am not even worried about the internet ones yet. I have paid on 2 of them though. They offered me settlements and I took them because they were lower than the original loan. But the storefront ones called me as soon as they got their check back and I told them that I could only afford $25 per week until they are paid. And they took it. 1 of them are even taking $20 every other week. They are going down slowly but they are going down. The storefront ones wanted to take the arrangements because it would be cheaper on them instead of taking me to court. So I would suggest closing your bank account so the internet ones cannot get their hands on your money and then you will have money to pay your rent. Also contact the storefront lenders and let them know your situation and tell them ahead of time what your plans are or ask what your options are with them. Leave the internet ones alone until you are caught up on everything else.

You will have to sit down and do the math. Figure out what you have paid to each one of them. It sounds to me that VA does not allow rollovers, extensions, etc. Get to know this law, it could very well help you out. But you will have to sit down and figure out what you have paid each of them and then do the math according to what your state law allows. They may owe you a refund if you have been paying on them for a long time.

Well, they're obviously stretching the law there with non-renewing. I have had dome of them for wuite a while, so I know the principle has been paid for a very long time. I have heard the best thing to do is just close my bank account and try to work out payment plans with each of them. I don't know what to do about the ones that will not work with me because I know of one who has adamantly refused when I have asked before. They are as listed:

ACE Cash Express, Inc.
3925 Melrose Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24017
540-563-5294
Him = 390.00
Me = 450.00

Express Check Advance of Virginia, LLC d/b/a Express Check Advance
2155 Bennington Avenue, SE, Roanoke, VA 24014
540-427-9757
Him = 500.00
Me = 500.00

ACE Enterprise of Virginia, LLC d/b/a 1st Choice Cash Advance
1084 Route 24 By Pass, Vinton, VA 24179
540-345-1725
Me = 350.00
Him = 400.00

Check First, Inc.
402 B West Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523
540-587-9455
Him = 400.00

Eastern Specialty Finance, Inc. d/b/a Check 'n Go
1934 E. Washington Avenue, Suite 8, Vinton, VA 24179
540-890-5891
Me = 500.00

Authorized Payday
Internet = Me
1-888-355-6148
Email: loans(at)authorizedpayday.com
200.00

United Cash Loans
Internet = Me
800-279-8511
clientservices(at)unitedcashloans.com

So what do you all think? Close the bank account then deal with the aftermath?

Check n go store front will cash your check and then want you to pay it at the store or they will ask you to bring in the refinance fee (oh wait no rollovers allowed n/m) then they will keep it for about 60 days before they turn it over to a third party collections agency which you will be able to make payment arrangements with. I had 2 default with them back in november had the store manager call me about 10 times a day, then I contacted the district supervisor telling her that I didn't want to deal with the manager because she was telling me that if I didn't pay this she would lose her job, which was a lie, she just wouldn't get her bonus check at the end of the month. I haven't heard from them since. I will contact them as soon as I am able to make payment arrangements with them. I want to pay off others first.

The two of you should not really concern yourselves with the internet pdls at this time. They are more than likely not licensed. Yes, they will harass and threaten you with charges, they are lying, just keep that in the back of your head and KNOW that these ipdls will not be able to "download you or an affadavit", and NOBODY is coming to arrest you. BLOCK these companies from your accounts ASAP and file complaints agains them with your Attorney General and thier AG's offices. Then deal with the storefronts and try to make reasonable repayment plans. But for now you need to pay your rent and car payments and other necessities you require.

I agree, concentrate on the immediate bills, such as rent and car. Do not feel bullied to gice these PDL people your money. Almost all of us are use to the empty threats. Remember, collectors have no power to arrest you. You can tell which ones are unlicensed, those are the ones calling and threatening people with filing motions and arresting people.....B.S.!!!

In the meantime, contact your local Consumer credit counseling Services to see if they will help you with payment arrangements on your storefront lenders. You can find them in the yellow pages. I know that our local office handles store front lenders. I contacted them when I was in trouble last winter. Try not to worry too much. Things will get better for you :-)

You have got to put rent and car and other needs like lights and food at the top of the list right now. These internet PDL's will tell you anything, short of the cast of Reno 911 is coming to arrest you at noon tomorrow, but like everyone's said today, they are just blowing smoke you know where.
Put it this way, if you don't have a place to live and a way to get to work, then pretty soon you don't have a job, right? Then noone's getting paid. And these PDL's know this--and they DO want to get paid, right?
So close your bank account first to get control back, pay rent and other basic needs first and THEN deal with the PDL's.

LMAO I can just picture them coming to my door. I have to admit that I learned TONS from this website I have told almost everyone I know about it. I just wish I would have found it earlier. Then I probably would have more money lol. my bank ended up closing my accounts now I owe 1 almost $500 in overdraft fees thanks to the IPDL's But I got caught up on my rent, then bought a house (go figure lol) and now am working on the store front pdl first then when I feel like it I will pay the IPDL's. I took the advise of others and am leaving them on the back burner for now. So if they want to come to my house like they say and arrest me I say go ahead but if you do I can't work (that would be a vacation lol) then I can't pay. So I guess what I am saying is THANK YOU for all the good advise and informing me on these slime balls. If it wasn't for this place I think I would have been scared to death and tried to get some high interest loan that would take the rest of my life to pay back to pay these people and then be out that money also. It's a never ending cycle.

I am in the same boat as everyone else here. I have about 6 payday loans (all internet) and I guess I just want to know that if I close my checking account and open a new one, then I won't go to jail! I am not the type of person to start confrontations, but every payday my account is overdrawn because of these loans. I just want it to stop. I will NEVER get into this situation again. These are the loans that I have right now:

One Click Cash=390.00 (This is a new one)
United Cash Loans= 195.00
Payday Select= 390.00
Paycheck Today= 450.00 (it was $500.00)
Cashtree= 375.00
Eastside Lending= 250.00

I live in Florida....any suggestions??

This is what I owe...including the finance fees if I pay them off in full. Do you recommend that I close my current bank account and open another one? I am meeting with my bank tomorrow to see what they recommend. I would rather pay them off on my own time. I would be able to pay them all off in full, one at a time, if I could just stop all the finance fees. I bring hope almost 2000.00 a month and I should have had these things paid off already! Is it just better to deal with the collections people?

Let me chime in here if I may. First of all, if an internet loan company does not possess a license to loan in YOUR state, they are illegal. Most internet loan companies ARE illegal. If you do find out that any company is unlicensed in YOUR state, then you legally do not have to pay. Check it out, and go from there.

My estranged criminal son,with his criminal girlfriend, both substance abusers, took his 84 year old father and got him to sign a $500 payday loan, and give the money to them. He didn't understand any of it, but gave ta check he Express Check Advance.He promply forgot about it, as he cannot remember anything for very long. Now, this business is harassing him continually at home and at his parttime job. I am afraid that the loan will renew itself and charge very high interest. How cn all of this be stopped in its tracks?
