In the interests of keeping the forum "clean" if you have found spam you would like to report to the moderators, please post it here instead of starting new threads every time.

Also if you ever see a posting entitled "SPAM", don't report that, its is just me deleting a bunch of spam.

:) The poster couldn't put the link in the forum.

The reason is we have applied a very powerful spam filter in the forums. This is not allowing any spam link to enter here. Tammy fired the last spammer on 12th Nov.

I hope you all have some rest now after throwing the spammers out. Everyone did a very nice work :) Let's hope there won't be any more spam disturbances.

Regards
Mike

Hi Cajun,

You saw the spams generated by automated software. They actually have active links in their post but our programming code disabled them. We have to find a way so that their text can also be filtered. They manage to do this because posts contain text like everyone posts.

The biggest problem is that these spammers don't have a static IP. Even if one IP is banned, they will come up with another. People using a dial up connection will face problems because their ISP keeps changing the IPs and when they get an IP that is already banned here.

If you look at the spams carefully, they are not able to post huge bunch of active links like it happened earlier. Only texts are getting posted.

We are doing a programming that will identify a spam text from a normal text. It's not an easy job but we want to make it happen. Our programmers are working on it and I am sure they will come out with better results.

Thanks for showing your concern and discussing about the problem, Tammy. We appreciate :)

Regards
Mike
