Has anyone had any dealings with PDL ventures payday loans/Express Cash? I'm getting threatening e-mails from these people. They are asking me to send them $250.00 by money gram or further action will be taken. The $250.00 will pay the loan in full no matter what the balance is. I just want to be sure of what kind of action if any they can do. Please advise.
Thank You

pdl ventures us not legal anywhere.tell the woman you will take your chances in court.you stated months.that tells me this loan is paid off as any fees go towards the loan.besides PA is a no garnishment state so if they threatn that tell them to pound sand.i would file AG,and FTC complaints against this illegal lender though.

Have you received any notice from them in the mail regarding this debt, they are supposed to send you a letter of collection per the FDCPA, if they haven't they can't take it to a court of law until they do.

Officer PTG K. Ryan or Brown Office ID 3318 stopped me for speeding at E. Main Street Columbus, NJ 08022, on June 22, 2010. I tried to explain to this office that I was not paying attention since I was trying to get my husband to the airport because we received word that his mother died. His remark "he heard that before really through me; He ran my driving record and found a clean record, yet because he had to meet his quota, I received a speeding ticket going 42 at a 25 zone in the amount of $200.00 with 5 points off my license. This would be hard to argue since I was not paying attention to my speeding but to my husband. This office is a total jack ass. Never in my 36 years have I received a speeding ticket nor lost points on my license. Since I can not clearly read his name, I am hoping the ID number helps. I wanted him to know that since once year I donate $1,000 to the New Jersey Law Enforcement Police Officer Brotherhood, that this fine and my lost points will mark my donation for the year 2010-2011 as complete.

So Officer Ryan or Brown whatever you call yourself ID number 3318 in your name my donation of 200.00 has been sent.

Yup, sounds like the same treatment I got.
I took a loan out with them and after they caused several overdraft charges to my account, I finally closed the account.
I called the listed phone number to their customer service and the girl said I had to send a letter that the account was closed. I did what I could.

Now I get a phone call from UCR, where some woman tells me she is to summons me. I freak out? What? What? So she "transfers" me (who knows if that is real), to a representative where some young girl starts running her mouth and wouldn't let me say anything at all. I told her I didn't have a job, so I didn't have any money. She said they would put me in jail. I said, well, if I'm in jail, I won't be able to get money in there, now will I? She said they would keep me in until I paid it. LOL Can't pay it if I'm behind bars! I finally hung up on her. When I called the number back I talked to a Mr. McBride from UCR, who said he would work with me. (I lost my job). I was to call him in two weeks to let him know my situation and he would re-evaluate my account.
I did, no answer. I left voice mails. No return calls.

So, now I guess I just sit and wait until they serve me papers?

Don't hold your breath awaiting a summons. You can't go to jail for owing a debt, so, that statement alone makes me believe they are trying to scam you! NEVER admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone. Please file complaints against them with the FTC, BBB and your attorney general's office, you can easily do this online.

Thank you for that vote of confidence. It was extremely upsetting when I got that phone call.
I believe though, I might have asked how much I owed and of course they were going to "take off" $200 to "help you out".

I just don't want to be in school or work and be led out in handcuffs! lol

Has anyone written to them?

I took out a 390.00 loan in the summer of 2009. They called me and I had just gotten out of the hospital and accepted the money. They took out 90.00 a month for 4 months and then I finally found a number for them and they said they were taking out almost 300.00 the next month to pay the loan. I immediately called my bank and they would not let them take it out. In the past month, I have been getting threatening phone calls from a place called United Investigations which informed that I would be arrested and taken to court on felony charges. I have recently been in a car wreck and am on disability and I told them to quit harrassing me. They finally did but now there is another company called CFG & Associates. They are constantly calling me wanting to set up 8 payments of 25.00 and a final payment of 270.00. Do the math, this place should be out of business and I told them I was contacting the BBB, Attorney General and a lawyer. They have since left me alone but this was after about 20 calls in 3 days. I also called my bank to make them be aware in case they try to take anything out.

I just got a harrassing phone call from some agency, Worldwide, that claims I took a loan out with PDL Ventures in 5/09 for $300. I did change banks in June 09, but made sure I paid everyone, Now out of the blue, and with no information they are trying to collect $300 plus $200 in fees, and as long as I do it amicably over the phone with them right now there will be no problem. Also, when I kept asking for an e-mail or fax, they can provide no proof that this loan occured, and the woman at the call center got very upset because her call with me was over 5 minutes and they are not supposed to be on a call for more than 5 minutes. How is that for pressure tactics. They did provide me with a fax #, that I could request additional information, but they are still going to serve me papers in the meantime.

I did read the article in the Havre News I guess I am confused so if they meaning PDL venture/Rockyboy/Spot on Loans are on an indian reservation and have thier own set of rules then there is nothing that can be done? i had a loan thru them which i have paid the principle and then some and they still say i owe them i have filed a complaint with the New Hampshire Banking Department because the law states they need a liscense in New hampshire to lend to a New Hampshire resident. Did i waste my time? can they come after me for more money?

moderator you are a FRAUD get a real job instead of telling people not to pay the bills they have incurred. Don't think you can hide behind "MODERATOR" and slander and give false advice to benefit yourself and the debt management companies you represent. You people charge to get debtors out of debt. Is that not adding more debt???

anyone dealing with these companies please call or go to your bank and completetly close that account. I paid off two loans through them under another name they are using and I was done with using them, well needless to say they went in my account three months after I was done with them and took money out of my account twice, when I looked at my bank statement and called the credit union I was told that they informed my credit union that I had taken out a loan and that it was required for me to repay at that time. I had proof that they were paid off I always made copies of every online transaction with them. they were mad!! they kept trying to get money from the credit union and they under no certain terms told them to back off! they had a lawyer calling to try and scare me for about a year but that didn't work so they sent me to collections I refuse to pay what I don't owe them! so please close that account and find another honest loan place to patronize!!!!!!!!!!!!
