You WILL be able to work this out. These pay day loan companies say whatever they can to try to get you to pay. Try not to let them scare you. As stated by others here, they WILL NOT arrest you for a pay day loan. Many people here have been through the same thing you are currently going through with these people. See the thread, "Best PDL threats." Then you will get an idea of all the things they will falsely threaten you with. Good luck to you.

there is no debtors JAIL!! they can't send you to jail for owing a bill, unless it's a gov loan or child support. They can however pursue a judgment and send authorities to serve summons or an appearance ticket.

I can't believe United Cash Loans would do such a thing to you such as threatening to send the police to your home and have you arrested for a debt that you owe. Do you know that this company is in trouble right now for their scare tactics?

Absolutely amazing. I have a loan with them as well but when I went through debt consolidation, I haven't heard anything from them. So apparently, they are being paid.

But I am glad that you said that because Monday, I am calling each of my PDL's and requesting statements from them.

That is beyond ridiculous to use illegal tactics such as these to harass individuals. I would have told them to call the cops and see if they respond. They cannot do anything to you until you have gone to court and then the least that they can do (since you haven't actually wrote a check to them) is take you to court and request a garnishment of your wages. But to use such tactics? These payday loans are beyond ridiculous. Gosh, I despise them with a passion and wish that they would just go away from the innocent individuals.

It's amazing what tactics these companies will use. The jail threat seems to be a major one, along with calling in "third parties" - meaning they will start contacting your supervisor at work, etc. And then they try guilt - (you're costing their company money, don't you want to be honest and pay your bills, etc.)

Guilt doesn't work with me. I'm the daughter of the guilt master. LOL

This does not suprise me in any way because it happened to me. United is with Rio Resources as we all know. I had never defaulted overpaid them by 700.00 and when the AG told me to close account they started. They told my then six year old they were going to put his mom and dad in jail. I have nothing but disgust for this company and I cant wait until the day comes that they go under. KYSIDE38

Guest, Closed my account because I overpaid these people by thousands. I owe them nothing they owe me and I am collecting. It is good to have the LAW on your side.

Sure do Guest I think every one should pay back what they owe according to their state laws. Not a nominal fee of 500 plus percent interest. Why cant these companies just follow the law? If they are going to lend follow the law!!!!!!!

you missed the point. i asked you what should happen to the folks that DON'T pay the money back, assuming the loan company is following some state law (we will use your example that they are following WV law, which says that pdl's are NOT illegal). What do you think should happen to those folks?

that is exactly what i was asking. so i an office products company hasn't registered with the city and obtained a city business license then should all of the customers that purchased there be allowed to get their money back and keep half of the supplies? you have got to be kidding me? on-line gambling sites are not licensed and there are some 4 billion us residents using them, should they get all of their money back? what do you say about a pdl that is from England or Ireland? How should we treat them?

A PDL from England or Ireland should stick to lending money there. The LAWS state that the PDLs have to be licensed in the STATE that they are lending to. So I, for example, live in Ohio...If that England or Ireland based company does not have a license in Ohio, then they should not be lending to us.

Guest,

Do you happen to work for United Cash Loans? We know how they love to stalk people around the forums. What they did was an illegal tactic. No one is saying they are running away from their debts. They just want to pay what they legally owe. You are comparing apples to organges in some of your posts. There is no need to tell someone they are going to be arrested. That is nothing but disgusting, no matter how you look at it.
