I found this firm online that promises to help resolve payday loan debt, often for 50% of the original principal.

Has anyone here ever dealt with them? Should I, or should I try to resolve all this on my own?

I have the same sob story as most here, so I know I'm in good company.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Can someone please help me fill out the form that Polly created to send to payday loan companies? I live in the state of NJ and I don't know where to begin. There is so much legal terms and things like that on there I just don't know what to fill in the blanks and what to delete. Please help me.

my bank told me that they needed a court order to put a freeze, credits only on my account. And as far as the ACH, you have to wait till they hit and then go into the bank and complete an unauthorized ach form on each one, each time it comes out. Then you have to close the account once it comes to a positive balance. So prior to closing the account, you have to go to the bank each time they hit your account.

My bank says that this is PA law, that you can not put an account on credits only, you have to have a court order to do that now. I did it last year and closed an account. Thats what they are telling me anyway. I opened an account at another bank and am in the process of closing that one.

I am also looking at going through Langhorne debt solutions myself but am a little leary since I have already been scammed once by a company that wanted money upfront. Is there anyway to find out if they are a reputable comapny? I checkd with the BBB and they are listed but no real information on them and they are not registered with the BBB.

Anne,

I haven't read many good things about Langhorne debt solutions. If you search for them on this site, you'll find some information. From my understanding - don't use them. If you register here, you will get a call from a debt counseling company. Find out who they are and research them. You want to go with a reputable company, versus getting ripped off..again..

Good Luck!

Can you post up some links to the bad things you're talking about, ssweat? There seem to be two different schools of thought in the posts I've been reading. Some people are pissed because the owner of the company used to collect for pdls, but none of them actually used the service. Then I see posts from people that claim to be his customers that seem to be pretty positive.

I am new to this forum and also up to my eyeballs in PDL's i have 6 at this poing, mostly for $300 each but at $90 a pop for interest each, my paycheck is pretty much gone. I am lucky I can afford groceries. I have a daughter in College and borrowed and borrowed to keep up with tuition payments because I couldn't get a parent loan for my share. I have been trying to find a way to consolidate these. I see the postings about Langhorne. Do they require money up front??

I can tell you this, when I was in my pdl mess, I contacted them to inquire about their services. They did NOT require money up front. However, you are set up on a payment plan which builds in an account, once a specific amount that was set is reached, then they contact the pdls to started negotiating a settlement. At least, that is how it was explained to me by the company. I decided however, to deal with my own mess and was able to do so.

Ok. I have been reading all of these remarks, and I can't tell who is telling the truth about these guys. I just started talking with these people and felt confident about everything because I see this as my only way out. I closed my bank account, but now I am scared what they, the pd places will say or do. Really, this thing is legit right????

I talked to a rep from Langhorne today, and I put a freeze on the ACH as they told me to do that. I have 9 PDLs and made 4-5 payments for each loan. Total loan amount is around $2200. I don't see so many people from california here. Can anybody tell me if Langhorne works in CA?

Is there anything you can do if one of these banks is garnishing your wages to stop them.

I now know that what the creditor has is a wage assignment which can be revoked by me. can anyone tell me what I can do if I am not notified of the intent to garnish my wages by certified mail prior to the garnishment.

I am looking to understand from all involved if this is the way to go to resolve these debts.
Like you, I have several, can't keep paying interest only, and have come to the point where I can't do anything but keep up the regular bills. If I have another hiccup, I stand to lose it all.
Is this above board?
Do I stand to go to court for bad checks?
Can I lose my car, my house, all of my other bad credit?
???

I have four PDLs. I live in NC. Cashjar is charging me 1115% interest. On a $725.000 advance I am not up to $1075. I have closed my bank account and have notified all PDL's that the account was closed an not to present any ACH against his account. I ask for a repayment schedule from each. Cashjar is not willing to arrange a repayment. They want it all. The Loanshoponline as agreen to postpone one months payment. Fees will double at the end of next month. Cash Star will not do anything until the PDL goes to collections.
The National Money store is just waiting for my new bank account info (fat change that will happen). I contemplating on using a Debt Consolidation Company because I don't know how ugle these companies will get. I will offer to pay the original amount that was deposited into my account. All these loans are internet. Any suggestions.
