Each state averages 3 or 4 pages in MS Word . . . . So that's around 200 pages . . . . Any ideas on how to do this another way would be appreciated . . . . I just thought doing it state by state (as that is how I have it saved for easier reference) and for each person would be the easiest. But I'd welcome suggestions!

I would like to get a Chexsystems report, but when I try to get one online it says that I have to be denied an acct within 60 days. I called the number also and the automated thing says the same thing. Is there anyway to get one without being denied an account?? I know that I am on there for a bank, but I have no way of finding out how much b/c the bank has merged with another and they can't find the files...???

Andrew-v-r i just PM'd you a list for Washington . . . . A point I'd like to clarify . . . When I say list, I don't really mean list. For each state I have the banks name, either an excerpt from their website with their verification process or an email from the bank about their verifiaction process, addresses, and any other info about what kinds of accounts they have available for people on chexsystems. It is not a short list . . . . All together without any formatting so far it is 206 pages long . . . 10 point type . . . I'm doing the best I can to condense it, and it should be available on someone's blog here soon, so everyone will be able to access it anytime they want!

Another note . . . . There is a bank that allows you to open an account with a chexsystems report that is glaringly missing from my list . . . It has the initials WF. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR LIES!!!! They say you can open an account, and they will open one for you. But chances are they will close that account within 3 months with no warning and no way to get your money for months!!!! Their branch managers are very helpful and nice, but they have no say over their loss prevention dept. Do not open an opportunity checking account!!!!

Okay, here's a question... What do you do if your bank reports you to Chexsystems for NSF fees, even if you have paid the NSF fees and still have the same account with them and it has a positive balance?
I had worked out a payment arrangement to clear the fees with a local branch, but the main headquarters in another state turned me over to collections and evidently reported me to Chexsystems AFTER I had already paid the NSF fees in full, and the account is still active and has a positive balance, as I stated above.
I queried this with a local branch manager, and he said that the bank could not remove people from Chexsystems, you have to wait 5 years. He said all that could be done is to have the bank write a letter saying things were paid. I find it hard to believe that the bank cannot remove someone from Chexsystems, if they should not have been put on there in the first place.
Any advice or experience with this type of situation?

The bank that reported you can remove you. Unfortunatly it's completly up to them. It should show as paid on your report, but that's little comfort.
I'd suggest a heavy letter writing campaign to the main headquarters. Write to the president, and anyone else you can find the name of on the banks website. Tell them specifically that you made efforts to clear up the balance you had with them, and now you are still being punished. Make sure they understand that this can prevent you from opening an account for 5 years. Some bankers don't know that, or assume that once it's paid the item is removed from your report. Unfortunatly, that's really all you can do. It's entirely up to them wether they remove you or not. I would stress in the letter that you still have the account open and active, and that it's in good standing. Stress the effect this will have on your life for the next 5 years. Hell, even beg!!
Banks can and do put people on chexsystems for things like you mentioned. I'm on there because of excessive NSF fees credited to my account because of ID theft. The bank knew what was going on but the back office still closed my account and sent me to chexhell . . . . .
It sucks, but there are a few options. If you want to switch your money to a bank that doesn't treat it's customers this way, PM me your state and you can lend your money to a bank that deserves it.

BTW - I think I forgot to mention it to most of the people I've PM'd lists to . . . If you all could send me updates on what has worked and if there is any bank on the list that is turning down because of credit or anything like that I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to keep things updated, and since I obviously can't apply for an account everywhere you all are my only source of verification. Thanks!
Will let you know. Thanks again, Goudah, for the list.

Cool . . . . Ashley, One thing about the US bank accounts is that is doesn't work for every state . . . . Only some state seem to have relaxed their requirements. That's why it only shows on the lists for certain states . . . I notice that you put it on top, so you may want to change that or put a disclaimer in . . .
And so everyone knows I'm still happy to PM you your specific state! Just let me know what you need!
