Can I consolidate payday loans without turning them over to a collection agency? I don't have any defaults, but I'm not making any progress, just paying about $600 a month in interest.

I work at a car title loan business and have to say if you own a car and need an emergency loan, go with a car title loan (maxcashtitleloans.com). To say the least, they are better interest rates than payday loans. But if people have good credit they should go to a bank. Don't be stupid about your money.

I'm in Texas, and the loans came from The Cash Store, Advance America Cash Advance, American Cash Express, Cash Zone, First Cash Advance, and Quick Payday Loan.

I'm not stupid about my money, family members needed money and promised to pay these loans off and now I'm stuck paying them and I just can't pay all of them and need some help. It doesn't help being called stupid either, I'm already beating myself up, I don't need anyone else helping me do that too.

Thanks for the clarification.

Ok first things first, all your PDLs are storefronts??

Also do you think you will be able to afford entended payment plans on all your lenders? An EPP is your total loan balance plus finance broken down into 4 equal payments. They are to be paid over your next four paydates.

That sounds reasonable enough. It is better not to default on them, due to the fact they are Legal. Plus you want to avoid the collections harrassment.

Te envoke the EPP you need to go in a day before your loan is due and request it. I would call them ahead of time to ensure they are aware of your situation.

As for the other two, I would try to paydown on the loans maybe by $35-$50 bucks if possible.

I'm sorry I misread your response, after I calculated the total amount of all the loans plus interest, I still cannot make those payment in 4 monthly payments. Maybe in one year or closest to 8 months. But 4 months is out of the question.

Most of these are licensed as CSOs in texas, so the PDL laws do not apply to them.

Good news is most of them are members of the CFSA which allows exteneded payment plans.

Ok well if you cannot afford to pay EPP payments all at once, then you can call and see about other arrangments.

Communication is the key now! The sooner you make them aware of your financial situation, the better. You can also call their corporate offices and see what arrangements can be made if you do not get thru with the local office.

I am not trying to get out of paying them back ---I have had major car repairs and could not get them paid on time. I got no notice from them they were going to take me to court untill the papers were stuck on my front door and arrived by mail the same day! I am so embarressed and do not want to go to court . It will damage my position at work tremendously---what do I do?

I have been attempting to consolidate my loans, anyone hear your payday loan help? I spent about an hour with them on the phone today in attempt to consolidate my loans. All of the information is sketchy and has too many loopholes to protect themselves. I am very skeptical since I don't want to make yet another poor decision out of desperation. I am paying appox $800 per paycheck. I am drownding in debt and cannot seem to find a way outl I have no defaulted on anything yet but I am real close and do not know how much longer I can keep this up. I'm sure all of you know the cycle; take out another advance in order to pay the fees and then place yourself in an even worse predicament. I need some serious guidance and direction. How can I make sure the debt consolidation company is legitimate? Thanks for all of the insight and input. At least I know I am not alone.......

Before you commit to consolidating, provide us with more information, we may be able to help you. Start a new topic and list the following information:
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

I mean I needed them at first and I have just been consistently paying nothing but interest. I took on a second job to be able to pay them off and it just doens't seem to be getting anywhere. If you don't mind me asking how much did you owe and what were your payments like? I would just like to get a really quick ballpark. I have too many because I thought it would solve problems a while back, but I DID learn a lesson. I use to have 8 and now I am down to 6, but it still adds up. I know once I have them under control I can save up and not worry abouthaving to need cash again. Thanks for your response.

ask for a epp plan

I have been receiving these phone calls that say I must call back or have my attorney call back (off the record) and that this is a very time sensitive matter, then at the end she gives her name and number and says that all she can say is Good Luck as this situation unfolds around me.

Secondly, I have about 7 Payday Loans and I am making monthly payments, but as everyone else says, I am paying out hundreds of dollars more than I need to. I also was told by your site that Pay Day Loans were not legal in North Carolina. Is this so, and if it is, can I just pay the principal amount.

THanks,
Jane
