Can anyone tell me what I need to do? I have 9 online payday loans and 2 in stores in my local area in KY and I cannot afford to make anymore payments on these loans. Everytime I get a paycheck they take so much out for fees alone that I hardly have a paycheck left.

cashtransfercenters $381.
Cash Borrower $390, paid $90.
Payday Select $400, paid 310.64 as far as i can count.
Payday One $300, paid $435.
Payday Ok $405, paid $602.15
Fast Apple loan for $400, paid $351 as far as I can tell, but it seems like there were more debits.
TJF Corp. $260, paid $360.
Midland Market $260, have paid $360.
Cashland $467 in store.
Cash Express $460 not due yet in store.
World wide Cash Now $289, have not paid any yet

So what would be the best thing for me to do? According to the law of Ky rollovers are permitted and that is what I have been doing with those internet payday loans. I dont mind paying the principal amount but I would like to set up payment arrangements and stop the interest from compounding. Any suggestions?

Harris, Internet pay day loans are illegal in Kentucky. The companies can not be licensed here so they can not lend here. First thing...You need to close your bank account. You need to do this asap. If they will not close it, you need to have the bank place a hard debit block on the account. Explain to them that you have had fraudelant activity on your account and you need it stopped. A hard debit block will keep the companies from being able to atttack your $$. Make sure whatever you do your account can not be forced open to pay these companies. You can not stop payment becuase they will either submit a paper check or use another name to get their money. You want to open your new account at another bank if possible. If you have to stay with the same bank, have the bank put in writing the two accounts in no way will be linked and that the debits will not be posted to the new account becuase of attempted debits to the old account. If you have direct deposit, you need to get with your payroll person and either get it changed to the new account and/or have them issue a paper check until you can have your $$ deposited to the new account. This is the beginning of dealing with the internet. You need to contact the storefronts and work out payment arrangements with them. Speak to a sotre or regional manager. The storefronts are legal and will follow the law to get their money. I will stop here and let you wrap your mind around this. If you have any questions, please post them. Also, post your progress for us so we can continue to guide you on to the next steps.

Although pdl's are not what i know best i DO know they can NOT put u in jail!! And if ur willing to work it out with them i don't see them suing u... they want their money and that's it. Most times a suit is filed after a long time without any sort of payment or if SOL is running out!
Good luck and remember they can NOT arrest u!

Harris the first thing you need to do is close your account like Roxy said and stop your direct deposit. Go to a different bank and open a new account. I can give you an advise on Payday ok and Payday One, you have already paid them the principle on your loan and you don't need to continue paying them. Send them a cease letter along with the PDL laws that Kashzan posted for you via certified mail and also email it to them and demand them to mark your account Paid In Full . They are very easy to work with and once you send them this letters they will close your account right away and mark them PIF. The reason why I am telling you this is because I had two paydaloans with them and i sent them the letters and they marked my account PIF right away and sent me a $1000 refund. In my case was different cause I had paid them almost $4000 in two years, but believe me they will mark your account paid in full cause I did the same for a PDL my husband had and they closed the account also. Good Luck

I see everyone focusing on the internet loans, that's great. Wonderful advice. I'm going to jump in here now and address the store fronts, as they were not touched on very much. Harris/guest/whatever your name is  Could you please tell me what store fronts you are dealing with??? I can probably give you some insight.

Sorry I didnt get on here yesterday had too many errands to run. My friend is going through the same payday loan nightmare and she called the stores that she had the loans with to make arrangements, but they told her that they dont make arrangements and some kind of criminal action will be taken if she doesnt pay right now. I thought the storefronts worked with you?

harris, is your friend in the same state as you are? Kentucky? Let me post Kentucky state law again for you to see. I can tell you right now, you nor your friend are going to jail. They can say "legal action" all they want. Here's the worst case scenario. And, this is worst case, because it's not happened to me or anyone I know in Kentucky. First of all, criminal prosecution is PROHIBITED. So don't let them scare you. Second, they will want ALL their money at one time. Of course they do. They get bonus checks monthly/quarterly. They want every dollar they can get and also they want every single person they can get to come in and re-write. More commission. This is why they argue with you regarding making payments. Okay. I've called several store fronts in Kentucky. And I told you I can wave at Cash Land everyday on my way to work. The different stores handle it different ways. I have spoken to the manager at some and a friend of mine has spoken to the manager a others. So, they can either tell you to pif and re-write, which is what they prefer so they can get their commission (you don't want to do this). They can tell you that you have another 30 days to pif. They can tell you that you can make payments every week/two weeks/whatever. Here's what they CAN do to you (and it is not going to jail). They can either work with you in regards to you going in and making payments towards the check. Or they can turn you over to collections, which in turn, you get to make payments. Or they can turn it over to an attorney, which in turn, you can make payments. So, in all honestly, whatever they decide to do, you can make payments. So it's really, really a waste of their time and money. I'm being honest here. You don't have to be afraid of them. Worst case? They drag you to "mediation". You sit there with them and another person and, guess what, you make payment arrangements. I mean, honestly, that's about it. I personally asked one of the store front managers what kind of "legal action" they can take. When they use the word "legal action", it means basically they might (and I say MIGHT) turn it over for collections. That's their "legal action." Believe me, if you keep insisting that you can not pif and need to make pmts, they might finally break down and say okay. If not, they'll send it to a third party collector. Make payments. Whatever floats their boat. They can not criminally prosecute you. They can not get you for a "bad check". Please trust me on this one. They just want you to pif so they get their bonus money for the month. And also to get you to rewrite again and forever be caught in this endless horrible cycle. Please believe me. No one is going to "come after you". You can not be charged with a "bad check". Criminal action is prohibited. Whatever route they decide to take regarding your outstanding checks, the end result is that they're going to get payments. So, it's up to them if they want to be idiots about it. I'm posting the law for you to see. Just to make you feel better.

i was reading some other postings and I have a question. With the storefronts they are due this Friday, OCtober 5, which is my pay day. My question is can I still close my bank account out tomorrow with the store loans coming due on Friday because if I dont then the other internet loans will go through as soon as my check deposits. I have already contacted the bank and told them I will be closing out the account tomorrow and I have contacted payroll and told them that I am closing my bank account and requested a paper check for this week.

If our "guest" is still Harris (and I'm assuming it is?), you can close your account if you're in Kentucky. This is if "guest" is still Harris and you are in Kentucky. If the storefront gets a check returned NSF or closed account, you need to contact them (or they will contact you) and tell them "oops, sorry" and make payment arrangements with them. Criminal action is prohibited in Kentucky. They can't get you for a "bad check". But you do need to pay them. But if they do get a check back due to a closed account, they will either call you or send you a letter. Just contact them (the manager) and set up payments. And only say what you can actaully afford to pay. Don't promise what you can't keep. Once payments are set up, stick to them. If you have any questions, please post. Or if I've gotten confused (since I'm a few days behind here!), just straighten me out!

Sorry I havent been on in awhile, have been working alot. Yes Cannr I was the guest. I forgot to sign in. I have contacted the storefronts, but Cash Express refused to take payment arrangements saying that they do not allow payment arrangements anymore. I have no way to pay them in full and that is what they are requesting. I have written letters to each ipdl revoking wage assignments, but I dont know what to do about Cash Express, any suggestions?

harris, were you able to click on goudah's link? This is awesome! If they are indeed a member and you take this to them, they will know you're not "stupid". Apparently you can pay in 4 pmts and the fees will stop. Awesome!

goudah, how can you check to see what storefronts are a member of this????

Yes Cannr I clicked on Goudah's link and that is really good to know! I just hope they dont try to say that because I didnt ask for that arrangement on the day before the due date that it doesnt apply. They seem to be really hard to deal with stating that they had a meeting last week with Corporate and that they will no longer take payment arrangements due to "customer abuse" of this practice.

harris - give it a shot. So it won't be the day before the due date. It certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a try anyway. Especially if they said they "don't take payments anymore" and they are a member of this!

goudah - thank you! I printed everything out. If only I had this list some time ago....... It's wonderful. Thank you. I know a few people that this will help! :D

I was going to pm you! They are on there! Yes! She can go in to the stores. Print all this out like I did. Give it to her. Also, print out the list of names of members so they can't "jack her around". It shows their name right on there. She needs to get her butt there the day BEFORE the due date. She can pay in 4 pmts. She will be thrilled! Now, hopefully they won't give her a hard way to go. But I'm thinking if she has these papers in her hand and requests this payment plan, they should abide by it.
