I have several internet pdls that I'm trying to pay off. One is through someone called SSM Group LLC. I do not have any record of this company and I've never even heard of them. They (along with other pdls) have overdrawn my account $500. Does anyone have contact information for SSM Group llc?

Hey all..I am having the same problem with SSM Group. I am from Indiana. I have taken out pay day loans before with Oakmount, and OneClickCash, but thats it, but I have this SSM Group debiting my account..How can I get in touch with them?

Call your bank and get the ACH Processor information. The more people you can call and complain to the better your chances. It takes a lot of time and energy but get those C&D letters going as well as the complaints to the AG's and BBB. Call everyone. It took me getting mad instead of scared to get anything done.

I am having problems with both SSM Group LLC and DJR Group LLC. I just submitted a complaint to my Attorney General (I live in NJ) today. I had contacted DJR Group yesterday and they basically called me a liar (saying I had used the funds ($200.00) because the finance charges (two (2) for $60.00) did not add up to the loan amount although I told them that I had not used the funds because I did not authorize them to give me a loan). They claimed that they had both e-mailed and called me before they deposited the funds but they have no record of doing so (no original e-mail nor record of who had called me).
My checking account is currently in the negative because of them but I contacted my bank and they put a hold on the account so no one can access it (I must write a check to gain access to my money -- cannot use my debit card) and I will close it once it's in the positive again.
Does anyone have the mailing addresses for DJR Group LLC or SSM Group LLC?

I'm about ready to take these geniuses on myself. After I closed my account on them they turned me over to NRS and I received a phone call saying they wanted $400 on the account...but they'd be willing to accept $270 to close it.

I was like...so they deposited $200 I never asked for...I've never heard of them...they withdrew $170...caused me $800 in overdraft fees...and now you want me to pay another $270-$400 more? I told him I'd call him back Monday and never did. Haven't heard from him in months.

Still angry about how much money I've wasted though.

same thing just happened to me. i never ever applied w/ the SSM Group LLC. NEVER! I took out a loan w/ 500fastcash. and my debit is to come out my next check for $195.00. Hopefully that is the only one they make. I don't want to have to change my account, but it looks like I will have to. *sigh*

I live in OH and never received any documents on this matter at all.

These people will do whatever to irritate you. They don't mail you anything at all. When you wanted just one loan they gave you two. On top of that, they withdrawl money from your account whenever they feel like it. They will call you all hours of the day or night. The first, and only time I talked to someone there, I informed him they stole from me. Why should I give some unlicesed prick money that he illegally gave me and proceeded not to follow the contract they set up. Oh, and he cussed at me. So, now I get calls basically threatening me. F you!!! I do know they sometimes call from a number in Kansas(area code 620). These people need a good ass kicking.

All of these companies are rip-off artists. Their phone numbers are:

CMG Group LLC 866-516-9300
SSM Group LLC 866-463-2130
DJR Group LLC 866-553-5788

I just checked my bank statement, and I have been charged twice a month EVERY month for the past 7 months...and didn't know it. I took out an internet loan back in January, paid the loan off 3 weeks after I took the loan out. I have 14 charges of $90 each PLUS the lump sum that I paid them back in early january. Check your bank statements, there may be a charge from 866-516-3100, and that number will refer you to one of the 3 numbers above.

They are very tricky in how they loan. They work with these websites that "find" you a loan. SSM will aprove you then send the funds to your account all in the same day without ever calling. I did get an email the day after I applied with one of those type sites that said I had 2 hours to call and reject the loan. But the money had already been sent the day before. They said there was nothing they could do as funds had already been sent. They are very sneaky!!

So I finally got 'mad as hell' and called SSM on Wednesday. I asked them if they were licensed, they said they were. I asked them if they were allowed to lend to people in PA, they said they could. When I told them that I had no record of ever applying for one of their loans, they gave me some story that I must have applied through one of their partner websites, who, in turn, sell the loan application to many lenders. When I asked which website I supposedly went through, they couldn't tell me. They emailed me a copy of the loan documents which simply have my name TYPED in the signature block.

In short, I supposedly took out a loan in January, 2008 for $300. Since January, they have been withdrawing $90 biweekly for what they call 'finance charges'. The loan documents state that the interest rate is 1,218%!!! In total, they have gotten $1,260 from me on a $300 loan that I don't even remember.

I told the rep that I would expect retribution for loan payments that were 4 times the amount of the loan. She said, 'sorry, that can't be done'. I asked her what needed to be done to stop these deductions from my account, and she said, 'pay what you owe...another $390'! When I threatened to put a hold on my account, she said 'then we'll refer your account to an outside collection agency'.

Fed up and disgusted, that night, I emailed James Keiser of the PA Dept. of Banking. He responded the very next day informing me that my complaint was forwarded to their consumer division. I received a call from Jocelyn in the consumer division who suggested I do the following:

1. Call the bank, open another account and close the original account. I opened the new account, but because it takes up to 48 hours to set up the new account, I left the old account open until I can get my direct deposits and debits properly moved over so that I do not bounce any checks.

2. Report SSM????????s debits to the bank????????s fraud department. The bank temporarily credited my account for the money SSM took.

3. Contact the FTC @ 877-438-4338 and open a complaint.

4. Contact Social Security Administration????????s Office of the Inspector General. Their phone number is 800-269-0271. I did this on 7/23, and it directed me to a website ssa(dot)gov/oig where I filed an online complaint.

5. Contact the FBI at ic3(dot)gov to report this as an internet crime. The FBI wants to know!

6. Get a copy of credit report from annualcreditreport(dot)com to make sure there hasn't been any incidents of identity theft.

7. Contact the PA Attorney General????????s office of consumer protection at 800-441-2555. I did this, and was directed to their website where I filed the complaint online: attorneygeneral(dot)gov/complaints.aspx?id=451#

Hope this helps, I know it sounds like a whole lot of trouble. But when I read the dozens of posts about this company, I knew that THAT MANY PEOPLE couldn't all be mistaken about the nature of these scam artists. Much of this info is for PA residents, but the federal contacts can be used by anyone in the USA.

I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I have done business with 3 different pdl's with good results. You apply for the load with all the up front info - SSN, routing, checking acct # and so forth... then you are either sent paperwork and/or called to verify all the information. I orginally applied for a loan with these rip-off artists - got the initial paperwork on the web stating what the interest was going to be and decided not to pursue it any further. I got a call on my cell telling me 'that I needed to call back to finalize the loan arrnagements'... and I ignored it completely. I checked my account about 5 days later online and saw that $300 was deposited by this SSM Group LLC - and I went through the roof! I called twice and got hung up on by these jerks. I threatened to file suit against them - and that was all they wanted to hear - before hanging up. I contacted my bank after 3 x $90.00 ($270.00) had been repeatedly deducted from my account. Bank of America is aware of this fraud of a company, they cancelled their ACH activity against my account and within 2 days - they had my info sent over to a collections agency. They're not getting another DIME from me at this point. The collections agency said they had rec'd similar complaints as well against this group. I believe we should all band together on this turkey and file a general letter of complaint and threaten legal action if they do not cease and desist with this activity of theirs. Anyone interested? Check back here - power in numbers... and I mean OUR numbers - NOT theirs!

I agree!!! I had the same thing happen with these SOBs and now I am getting hounded by a collection agency, who I might add, agrees that this is how these companies work but they still have no problem trying to collect for them!!!!!! CMG is the same way. I ended up with 3 loans and never applied for any of them! I am out over $600 dollars and thats on top of the $300 I paid back to each one of them. Now they want me to pay them $480 each. Ya Right!!!

Well I got a letter from SSM/OSL marketing, and they have agreed not to withdraw any more money from my account. I am still not happy...I want a refund! I am also with Bank of America, and they are still investigating. I'm not calling canceling their fraud investigation under any circumstances. The letter from SSM was snobbish, indicating that I must not understand 'detailed and clear' contract language. I still do not recall signing anything, and the most I think they should get is the $300 they deposited in my account, which is a far cry from the $1,260 they deducted. Anyways, here is the 'template' letter that is the same as the others I have read on this website. The fact that they don't even change the language tells me that they have written thousands of these...and they couldn't even spell my first name right!

RE: Your Complaint
DannaCxxx July 29, 2008

We have received and reviewed your correspondence regarding your complaint with SSM Group, LLC.

The money was lent to you in good faith with the understanding that you would abide by the terms detailed in your loan contract. We upheld our end of the agreement by crediting the funds to your account in a timely manner. The Loan Note and Disclosure that you e-signed and thereby agreed to is very detailed and clear so as not to cause any confusion to the borrower, and meets all the Truth-In-Lending and Reg Z requirements as prescribed by Federal statute.

Upon review of your account history, you clearly knew all terms and conditions of your loan. We have all the legal contracts you signed, in which you agreed to terms and conditions of the loan.

In the interest of compromise, your account has been marked as ???????Paid in Full??????? and there will be no further attempts to collect on this account. There will be no refund on your account and no further loans will be offered to you.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Respectfully,

Compliance Department

Great news! On 7/28, my bank credited me $360 plus overdraft fees of $270 and sent me a letter stating that the matter is under investigation, and that a separate request has been made to SSM's bank for the balance of what is owed to me. then, on 8/1, I received another credit of $450. I am happy with this, because all together I have received a total of $810 plus overdraft fees. SSM can keep the remaining $450 for the $300 'loan' they deposited in my account, plus $150 interest. I would consider this a success story. The moral of the story is...DO NOT GIVE UP. Continue to put pressure on these PDL companies, get your bank involved, get your state involved, get as many agencies as possible to support you, and eventually, you will get results.

I'm going through the same thing. Took out $150 and they deducted $45 out of each paycheck until it was paid. After they had taken $405 out of my account I tried to contact them. Left several voicemails to their answering service, never received any response. Finially I pushed a couple buttons and got ahold of someone. They told me the $45 was refinancing charges and I still owed the loan amount.

I called the bank and for $30 they can block them from withdrawing anymore money out of my account for 6 months until I can get this taken care of.

The group is CMG Group Llc 1-866-516-3100

I am completely confused. I just checked my online bank statement and found a $200.00 credit on my account from some company called SSM, LLC for September 17th. There was a phone number listed with it, but when I tried calling them it said "Thank you for calling OS Marketing" and tells me to leave a message. From everything I read here, it sounds like some loan company.

I tried googling it, but didn't find any real information.

I have only used an online payday loan company once and I know the name of that company, it's web address, and phone number. I just got that loan a month ago and am currently paying it off.

I was thinking about calling my bank, having them close my account and re-issue a new account number for me. I also plan on calling the ONLY payday loan company I authorized and let them know the new account number so I can continue my payments with them. But what do I do about this SSM, LLC company and their money? I want to return it to them somehow, and I refuse to pay any finance fees. Currently, the only money in my checking account is this $200 that is not mine. I am not using this money as it is not legally mine. I never authorized this company to put money into my account.

Honestly, the thing I am scared about the most is that they got my account number in the first place.

Can anyone offer me some advise on what to do?

Sorry. I missed a few pages of information.

I just read over most of them. I am going to:
-contact the company at the phone number provided in this thread.
-Call my bank and find out their policy on ach transactions on closed accounts.
-Close my account and have it reissued.
-see if my bank can reverse this transaction.

If you can, I would like a copy of that letter to revoke debt authorization too.

I am in the state of Texas if you can find any information for me legal situations I may encounter. I know Texas is a non debtors state, which means you can not be sued, jailed, or have property seized for debts. At least that's what we were all told when I was working for CitiCards (CitiBank).

SSM Group is 866-463-2130

Actually I did a loan with SSM Group. Not that it was a good idea but yes, you have to read the email/loan agreement and the money does get deposited unless you call them.

Here is how it works for example:

The loan is $300
Finance charge $90 (owch) but yeah

the $90 is taken out every payday. It is a finance charge only and does not take away from the $300. It basically buys you time.

You must call them before each pay period and let them know if you want them to take more than the $90 finance charge and pay on the principle ($300 in this example).

The $90 is always taken out until the loan is paid. the $90 is ONLY a finance charge not the principle. You must pay more than the finance charge each time to pay off on the principle.

It sux but payday loans are just a temporary bandaid fix. I hope this information was helpful.

This place is not complying with Truth and Lending and Reg Z. Reg Z states that the finance charge must be represented as an Annual Percentage Rate. The paperwork they email to you shows only your loan amount and finance charge. They do not include an apr.

They will buy your name and info from an internet lender that you applied for, then credit your account. If you are lucky they will leave a voicemail message.

If you call, they will state that you gave your authorization. (it was probably buried in a "release of info" document that is 4 pages long) at the time you applied.

Tell them that you gave them no authorization, that they are not legal in your state and that you wish to RESCIND the loan. They should debit your account only the principle and That should solve your problem.

THEY THREATENED ME WITH ATTORNEY'S AND COURT FEES. I SPOKE TO A LAWYER AND THEY TOLD,ME I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE FEES. JUST FOR THE LOAN AMOUNT . Just today i have received a credit to my account from this company whom I did NOT authorize to put money into my account!! its still pending so my bank can not do anything about it! I dont know what to do! I called the two numbers I have for them and have received busy signals AND finally an answering machine. I am going to keep calling this company until I reach someone, but im at work and can't do it all day. Any other suggestions? or do I need to wait until my bank disputes this transaction?

Talk to the branch manager, They should be able to return it to the company. If any subsequent "Fees" come out, dispute it, you may have to close your account. If your disputing it with your bank, then let the bank handle it.

I personally wouldn't waste my whole day trying to get someone at the company.

Hey, I wish I had read this post before. DJR Group ripped me off as well. I took a $250 loan out that I didn't even want. I cancelled the transaction before it went through when it asked if I wanted to cancel or submit I pressed cancel. I looked on my account the next day and they had deposited $250 in my account. Well, having done payday loans before I figured they would just take it back in a few weeks. A few weeks came and they started taking $75 out every other week. They kept taking out and finally I had enough after paying them $525 so I found their number and called. They said that was just the processing fee and I still owed $250. I blew up. They said they called and left me a message and sent me an email with the Terms & conditions. They never did because I never received any message or email. I am not really sure what to do becasue they wouldn't budge and said they were going to continue to take $75 every other week and I don't want to pay it because I already paid $525. My avise to anyone wanting to use DJR group is not to use them. There are more respectful payday loans like Pay Day OK. I used them before and they do send emails updating you on your account.

My advice to anyone is to call your bank and have them place a stop payment on the ACH debit. Tell them that you have been unable to reach anyone at the company in order to settle your account, but they continually debit your account 2-3 times a month - it also helps to imply that you believe the company to be involved in fraudulent business practices. VERY IMPORTANT...place the stop payment first! Then file a dispute against the charges from the company with your bank and finally, file a complaint with the FTC. The truth of the matter is if this company is legit, they will contact you once they have been notified of the stop payment. If they contact you and are threatening in any way, file an additional complaint with the FTC and your state's attorney general.
