Allegro Law Firm reviews – has anyone worked with them?

GO with debt settlement and save all the money you can... Creditors will still make back what you truogh what you already paid on interest and what there insurance companys will refund them for you debt.

Allegro Law Firm saved me so much money and I was able to keep my house out of foreclosure and not to mention my wife. :-)

I was being pushed to Allegro Law Firm but they refused to send me a contract until I gave them all my personal info, including ss # and banking info. That was fishy to me. Allegro Law also refused to give me the name of any attorney(s) who I would be working on my behalf. Allegro Law were unable to provide any settlement results they had accomplished. BUYER BEWARE!

Hi Mary, I was just reading your post....did you decide anything? I too am being pushed to make a decision and like another post, I am not comfortable with giving Allegro Law Firm all of my personal info just so they can tell me how much it is going to cost me and what the program entails. doesnt seem right.

My sister has been with American debt solutions for about 6 yrs and now has everything paid off. She gave me their website, but when I went to it and called the 800# the guy said the name of the company is Allegro Law Firms, then on the papers he faxed me it say's Allegro Law Firm! Help! I'm SOOOO confused.

Allegro Law is a firm that negotiates debt balances with creditors. Many debt management companies use them because they are successful. I understand that Allegro Law Firm settle thousands of accounts every month. I'm an accountant and have referred them several clients. My research indicated that they are safe and effective. Allegro Law Firm is the best out there. ANyone else does not represent you like they do. They must have all info before sending contract or its not cost effective.

I am going to go for it. I am currently with a debt company and all they did was lower my interest rate a little. I understand the debt counseling that is out there work with the creditors and not for you. You still have to pay all the interest. With Allegro Law Firm you don't pay the interest just the principal. I will let you know how it works for me.

If you can afford to stay with the credit counseling program you are in I suggest you stay in it Pennyless. debt settlement is a hardship program and best for consumers that don't qualify for debt management, can't continue paying minimum payments, can't borrow to pay off debts and don't want to file bankruptcy. These creditors are not stupid. They are starting to require a budget to show proof of hardship and if they see that you have the ability to pay they will likely just sue you and garnish your wages or if they don't you won`t get a very low settlement anyways. Plus settlement hurts your credit anyways and thats why its for people in a hardship who have credit that is already shot. I like both credit counseling and settlement but you need to know the facts.

Don't be discouraged, I know i went through a rough time making a decision myself especially hearing some horror stories! The Family Debt Center is a consumer company that refers its client to other companies with proven track records of getting people out of debt. From what I experienced you need to pay off this debt as FAST as possible with Allegro Law Firm and provide all necessary statements or letters. Sometimes that holds things up! But they also represent another company called CRN, and they are probably one of the best hands on companies i've ever experienced in my opinion and they offer a Coach for you! Having gone through many different debt options (bankruptcy in the 90's, and trying Allegro Law Firm for a year got a few accounts removed but that was before i got fed up with reaching there customer service, so finally I signed up with CRN and really havent been more impressed.) debt settlement is a great option especially if you hate the fact that Credit Card companies are ripping off the american people and they made more last year that Microsoft or Walmart! (I didnt believe it until I read it myself, article was in the NY TIMES). These companies arent even regulated (can charge any interest rate, any late charge, and make any change they feel fit with 15 days notice) our government doesnt care about the best interest of the people anymore! We need to take action! You need to take action for yourself! Its your finances, and if someone else tells you not to do this, ask them if they are paying the debt for you?! Think smart! The economy is not getting any better tomorrow! I applaud you for making the first step, doing your homework!

So, Can someone honestly tell me if Allegro Law Firm is a honest, good agency to go through for debt settlement? I am very stressed at this point and willing to try anything. I have already received a civil summons for a small credit card (I am sure is small claims court) and expect more if something is not done fast.

Allegro Law Firm is the same as Hess Kennedy and Campos Law. Do a search for "Hess Kennedy" on this site, and that's all you'll need to know.

I have been with the family debt center/ allegro law for about 5 months and none of my debts have been paid. I found out alot of my creditors weren't contacted so I got concerned and did my own research and called the BBB and they stated they had no information on them. I contacted family debt center to get out of the program thinking i was going to get my money back and they stated all the money i put into it went to legal fees something they didnt tell me in the begining so be very carefull dealing with debt settlement companies.

The Key is 100% correct. Family Debt Center/ Allegro Law IS CAMPOS LAW CENTER with a false name to fool you which means they are in cahoots with HESS KENNEDY. IT'S A SCAM PEOPLE. A very large scam. Also BBB gives Family Debt Center/Campos law a D. Soon it will be a F. If you have money to pay Campos just call your creditor and pay them instead. You can do what these so called debt elimination companies do for you for free.

WOW! I have been reading the post. I was just before going with Allegro Law. That is scary. I contacted the creditor today and was undecided as to just try and negotiate a lower balance myself or go with Allegro to do it. I got Allegro from Brokencredit.com. Now I am concerned. Not sure if they will negotiate with me on Monday for a lower balance. I owe 10K.

I work for a debt management company and the first thing that I would advise you is to check on bbb.org, which is the better business bureau. You can search the company and see if they have had any complaints or issues reported. debt settlement is typically for someone who is severly delinquent and whose accounts are already with outside collection agencies. I would typically suggest to pay the accounts without assistance, because with a debt settlement program, it has a negative impact on you fico score and stays there for 7-10 yrs. It also shows future potential credit lenders that you were not able to handle your bills and are at risk for not paying them in full.

I used to work for The Achievable. As an employee, I found their practices unethical. Yes, Allegro is the renamed firm of Hess Kennedy, which was renamed Campos. Or something like that because they liked to keep us uninformed of their business practices. I listened to salespeople, not counselors as they like to call themselves, flat out lie about the programs to get consumers in debt to sign with them. These salespeople make salary plus a commission on the first payment you send to the law firm-which, is actually to the sales company, because they service your account, customer service is located in the same building! They have multitudes of websites all leading to them and their parent company-AmeriCorp. I can only recommend a non-profit service, what these companies do is unethical.

Allegro Law has nothing to do with Campos or Hess Kennedy. Keith Nelms is the lead attorney that's headquartered in Montgomery AL. Where do you people get your information?

Look people if you are giving money to an entity into an escrow account that THEY control IT IS A SCAM. Just look at this site where people complain about Allegro and you will see Allegro reps coming in here and saying positive things about them to mislead you. THE SAME THING HESS KENNEDY DID.

Legit companies will not care about sites like these if they were legit.

This company has fraud all over it.

How can they come up with a payment plan upfront for paying your debts when the company did not do anything with your creditors yet? That's a sign of fraud

Allegro's site does not work properly when finding a lawyer of affiliated companies.

The site looks and is run just like HESS KENNEDY was.

They just signed up with the BBB in August 2008 so they look good right now. That will change.

The best is to just do it yourself so you know what is going on. There are plenty of tools out there to do this. Get a local attorney that has some knowlege in this area as a consultant to point you in the right direction and be there in case you get sued. Trust me, most of these settlement companies will do just fine on your easy accounts and then will leave you in a mess with the tough ones and then you are right back to square one after a lot of aggrevation. Save yourself some aggrevation and save your credit and make sure it gets done right the first time.

Sorry to say but the information provided For you people that don????????t know who Allegro is, I will tell you. They are bulk settlement facilitator that settles more than 4000 accounts per month. They basically wire transfer MILLIONS of dollars to the banks on a monthly basis. There program is actually the SAFEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE ON THE MARKET. Most of the clients in their program want to avoid bankruptcy. There are other Attorneys, Doctors, Business Owners and other sophisticated individuals with debts up to $300K in the Allegro program.

Jury awards $11.3M over defamatory Internet posts

A Florida woman has been awarded $11.3 million in a defamation lawsuit against a Louisiana woman who posted messages on the Internet accusing her of being a "crook," a "con artist" and a "fraud."

Legal analysts say the Sept. 19 award by a jury in Broward County, Fla. ???????? first reported Friday by the Daily Business Review ???????? represents the largest such judgment over postings on an Internet blog or message board. Lyrissa Lidsky, a University of Florida law professor who specializes in free-speech issues, calls the award "astonishing."

Lidsky says the case could represent a coming trend in court fights over online messages because the woman who won the damage award, Sue Scheff of Weston, Fla., pursued the case even though she knew the defendant, Carey Bock of Mandeville, La., has no hope of paying such an award. Bock, who had to leave her home for several months because of Hurricane Katrina, couldn't afford an attorney and didn't show up for the trial.

"What's interesting about this case is that (Scheff) was so vested in being vindicated, she was willing to pay court costs," Lidsky says. "They knew before trial that the defendant couldn't pay, so what's the point in going to the jury?"

Scheff says she wanted to make a point to those who unfairly criticize others on the Internet. "I'm sure (Bock) doesn't have $1 million, let alone $11 million, but the message is strong and clear," Scheff says. "People are using the Internet to destroy people they don't like, and you can't do that."

The dispute between the two women arose after Bock asked Scheff for help in withdrawing Bock's twin sons from a boarding school in Costa Rica. Bock had disagreed with her ex-husband over how to deal with the boys' behavior problems. Against Bock's wishes, he had sent the boys to the boarding school.

Scheff, who operates a referral service called Parents Universal Resource Experts, says she referred Bock to a consultant who helped Bock retrieve her sons. Afterward, Bock became critical of Scheff and posted negative messages about her on the Internet site Fornits.com, where parents with children in boarding schools for troubled teens confer with one another.

In 2003, Scheff sued Bock for defamation. Bock hired a lawyer, but he left the case when she no longer could afford to pay him.

When Katrina hit in August 2005, Bock's house was flooded and she moved temporarily to Texas before returning to Louisiana last June. Court papers that Scheff and her attorney David H. Pollack mailed to Bock were returned to Pollack's office in Miami.

After Bock didn't offer a defense, a Broward Circuit Court judge found in favor of Scheff. A jury then heard Scheff's arguments about damages. Pollack did not seek a specific amount for the harm he says Scheff's business suffered.

"Even with no opposing counsel and no defendant there, $11 million is a huge amount," says Pollack, adding that Scheff is considering whether to try to collect any money from Bock. "The jury determined this was a significant enough issue. It's not just somebody's feelings are hurt; it's somebody's reputation is ruined."

Bock says that when she moved back to her repaired house over the summer, she knew the trial was approaching but did not know the date. She says she doesn't have the money to pay the judgment or hire a lawyer to appeal it. She adds that if the goal of Scheff's lawsuit was to stifle what Bock says online, it worked.

"I don't feel like I can express my opinions," Bock says. "Only one side of the story was told in court. Nobody heard my side."

I may be affiliated with Allegro in some form and also know who Hess Kennedy is. I????????ve been in this business a long time. Making claims that they are on in the same organization is defamatory and uncalled for, and pisses me off.

Allegro Law is part of the Consumer Debt Law Services, Inc. who is apart of SPIEGEL & UTRERA, P.A. I looked up SPIEGEL & UTRERA, P.A on the BBB and this what I found. They have 6 complaints stating not performing according to their contract. 3 making a partial refund. HHmmmmm sounds like some other company I know. Consumer Debt Law Services, Inc is based out of West Palm Beach Fl. HHmmmm Florida again. Go to the Consumer Debt Law Services, Inc site and read.

THIS IS THE SAME SCAM AS HESS KENNEDY. I will keep my eye on this company.

1: Consumer Debt Law Services, Inc. is a counseling agency for Allegro. There are dozens of counseling agencies for Allegro throughout country.

2: Allegro is a nationwide law firm based in Montgomery Alabama. They have dozens of lawyers throughout the country.

2: SPIEGEL & UTRERA, P.A is a law firm that forms corporations and has nothing to do with debt settlement. There site is amerilawyer.com.

3: I'm from New Jersey, and anything else about me is unimportant. Maybe you'll find out who I am on a court docket.

Why is their only one site listed at the BBB? And it's Prattville Al.

Why does it state that Original Business Start Date: January 2000? That's hardly 20 years. Or 15 for that matter.

I suggest you should also try . They're based out of CA, and I've been with them for about 5 months now. Always available, and the results are showing already. My rep steve was very helpful, call him if you want help. . He will explain the program to you, and even guide you if you should get into this program or should you look for other options.

They're also accredited with BBB, TASC, USOBA, IAPDA and many more organizations.

These are the facts; the Firm has dozens of counseling agencies that do all of the front end work such as explaining the services and facilitating service agreements. The firm acquires multiple hundreds of new clients every month. The firm settles thousands of credit card accounts every month. The firm currently has ZERO complaints with the BBB. So what does that add up to? It????????s a legitimate service provider. You OWE a huge apology for the defamatory information you????????ve posted.

Allegro Law now has a location in NJ on the BBB. The problem is that the BBB cant locate the company with the address it was given. IT DOESN"T EXIST. Plus this address was not there a few weeks ago when I checked the BBB. They only had two address. The number they have is not even a NJ number. Worst I live in NJ. So I went to find it personally. Do I need to say anything more.

The company failed to resolve the complaint issues.

Another way to see if the site is legit. Use a Reverse Phone Directory to see if the number matches the location.
