Between Heathmill and Cash Today Ltd. and all its several dozen affiliates; this is perhaps the biggest worldwide scam going today. The best thing to do is ignore them. If you can't hire a lawyer. Trust me, this is what I have done. I owe these people nothing...yet they still call my job over 50 times a day. Aaron Gershfield is nothing but a weasel and a coward that hires slaves for pennies an hour. Heathmill needs to go down!

I wouldn't ignore them--and if you don't owe them anything, what they are doing is harassment, plain and simple. I definately wouldn't ignore them--and would let the FTC know about it, as well as your local police department. The more agencies know about this, the better the chance they can be booted out of the US.

This is what the newspapers say about this company

London tycoon faces US loans inquiry

A millionaire London businessman is being investigated by US authorities over an alleged internet loans scam.

London-based Aaron Gershfield, who denies any wrongdoing, was named last month in a complaint filed by the Federal Trade Commission and the State of Nevada.

It relates to internet lenders said to have violated US federal and state law by not disclosing key loan terms to consumers and using "abusive and deceptive" collection tactics.

A total of 10 internet lenders are named in the complaint along with Mr Gershfield and two other men.

Mr Gershfield lives in a ????4 million home in north London and is a brother of Jonathan Gershfield, a British film director who worked on films including S3x Lives Of The Potato Men and Three And Out.

The complaint alleges the defendants offered people "quickie" loans without requiring a credit check, proof of income or documentation. Loan applicants had to provide bank account and Social Security numbers.

Borrowers typically got loans of about $200 (????130) which were to be repaid by their next payday with fees of up to $80 (????50).

But interest rates and other terms were not fully disclosed and some borrowers wound up paying hundreds of dollars above the loan amounts, according to the complaint. The deals were done through websites.

John McGlamery, a spokesman for the US Attorney in Nevada, said: "This was an internet-based operation, the victims are spread far and wide. We have had a tremendous number of complaints."

Regulators want a court order to stop the practices plus fines and refunds of "ill-gotten monies" to hundreds of borrowers around the United States.

The complaint is civil and Mr Gershfield, who runs a call centre company in the UK, is not facing any criminal charges.

In a statement he said: "We are surprised and disappointed that the US Federal Trade Commission has chosen to take this action, given that we believe there is no foundation to the allegations.

"We have instructed our counsel in the US to assure the FTC that we are complying with all applicable laws.

"We provide call centre facilities for a wide range of companies in the UK and around the world.

"During the last five years this has included supplying services to a number of international internet loan companies. We hope the situation can be resolved fully."

As an ex call centre employee, I can personally attest to the fact that he is a fat, greedy, monster. All he cares about was money and how much did we bring in. Even if someone had paid $2,000, we were still going in and hitting there bank account or setting up manual payment, even if the person didn't agree to it. The whole point was to get as much money as possible, which is why we were encouraged to roll over the loan and never take fully repayment as there was no money in it.

I was one of the last ones to leave this place after most of the illegal Indian call center staff were deported. I think it's all closing down now so there should be no more cash today or heathmill or any of the other names.

i used to work back 2003 to 2004 in heathmill, sales, compliance. they never asked me about my passport, NI number when I joined, end of the month they gave us cheque, showing the tax we paying, but those tax never goes to Inland revenue. Most of the staff from india, came as student visa, working more than 20 hours which breach of immigration law. Aaron as a person is greedy and his right wing man , indian guy named Yogesh, who came as a student and became director in 2004. From the beginning i realised it was not good organisation. So I left it. I m so happy what happened to them.

I worked there in 2005 and frankly, i made good sales and earned lot of money. I use to top sales every month. I now feel ashamed that all my earnings was by putting some needy people in problem....Want to apologize to all of them...Yes, aaron and yogesh were greedy about money without caring for ethics. They saw an opportunity and made huge money. But yeah, indians like me, who were not getting jobs (watever complaints they are saying) did benefit from this company where they all made good money and survived in tough conditions.
I pray for all those people who suffered because of us.
Aaron and all related will suffer....

the company operates under many names. rovinge is the company that released the excremental 'three and out' movie. once the ftc started asking serious questions they started running the pay day operation from Dominica. i surprised they still still retain the franchise for home delivery of the Financial Times. i stopped working at heathmill last year. i'm surprised the inland revenue have not seriously examined the practices of the company. no tax is paid, no national insurance is paid-the payments appear on your pay slips but the revenue have no record. non EU workers are employed, that majority are from india, students who do not have the right to work more than 20 hours...

After reading below I can't believe this place is still operational, something has to be done about this place as its as dodgy as hell. Aaron and crew are a right nasty bunch of people to work for and should all go to prison or something similar.

Hi,

The FTC will charge the defendants for violating the FTC Act by using unfair and deceptive collection tactics. The commission will help you if you are falsely threatened the commission will take legal action by stopping the creditors who repeatedly call consumers at work using abusive and profane language, and improperly disclosed consumers??? purported debts to third parties.

Having recently.been a employee there o can sure you there are still.loads of immigrant workers there and Aaron and Ian are still operating. They are setting up a new operation called bodycare. This involves unsafe trailers going out to take peoples blood and other examinations. They hire non qualified nurses and doctors which have no English or knowledge of what they are doing. There a trailers filled with used injections and blood which is not contained correctly. I don't know how they get away with this! Aaron is still a fat greedy rude guy and his side kick Ian Harris is still a wanna be director or something. Totally wrong!

As another former employee, I can't imagine that this place will last too long. They have such a high turnover and staff often vanish for no reason (multiple disappearing PA's anyone???). Add to that, all the so called "legitimate" businesses are failures and will never make any money because the only way Aaron and his cronies have ever made any money is buy ripping off Americans, and quite a few Brits too. After having blinded people with their fantastically bad Eyecare business, the new scam is called Bodycare, which will also fail spectacularly as these micky mouse trailers built by illegals along with machines that don't work, are bound to take more lives than they save. Please, for the love of god, shut these people down!!!

Worked for Meade Investments/Heathmill at Northway House in Whetstone, north London for just under a year, worst ever place to be employed. I had a position where I was in the middle of everything and was seeing people walk out EVERYDAY! Every month I was hassling the accounts department to get my pay right but still to this day they still owe me a few hundred but I can't be bothered to hassle them as I know it'll take a year to sort out. I can't believe how this place is run it's highly unorganised with alot of managers that don't know what the f***k their doing. The 5 cleaners get paid the minimum wage and get treated like s**t working over 9 hours a day!!! I feel sorry for everyone who works here, It's a nasty building run by the most nastiest people. I know a few former colleagues who get fired by the click of a finger by the legal department on the 10th floor (Zorro Law) for no reason. Even I was left in a emotional state on days where I felt I was being treated like shit and looking back I can't even believe I stayed there for as long as I did. I would NEVER recommend anyone to work here unless your desperate for a job. I'm happy that I now have a job where I know I'm not working with people who are greedy, rude and don't know how to treat employees. The building itself needs to be knocked down because its very dated and dirty....most of the time they have power cuts and the heaters don't work during the winter and the "management" let tenants freeze to death because they just don't give a sh*t, as long as they pay their OVER CHARGED rent bill there happy. Seriousy, this business needs to be named and shamed and shut down for good.

I had the misfortune of working there for two months before I saw the light and the porn magazines that were kept in the directors offices. The whole lot of them are bullies and they made peoples lives hell. In all my working career I have never seen so many senior managers reduced to tears by the biggest bully of the lot - the fat, hideous beast Aaron Gershfield. Ian Harris is just a yes man and a complete waste of space. I am still struggling to see how they are still able to operate and what on earth his girlfriend sees in him other than the money. Hopefully she too will see the light before it is too late!!

The whole operation in Northway House is just a cover-up for all his other seedy goings on. If anyone still works there - get out now!!!

Don't you worry, my spies tell me that the Office of Fair Trading and the Inland Revenue have been looking at "financial irregularities" in the income and accounting practices Meade and Rovinge and Gershfield and co are about to come in for a nasty surprise. We'll see how that that girlfriend lasts when he's stripped of all his assets and sent to jail. Come to think of it, what WILL the FT make of that also?

Oh, and that building in Barnet is going to be condemned for a litany of health and safety violations, including food poisoning and rat infestation of that so called "Coffee Shop" which has already poisoned several people . . . a fact which their internal "legal" team have sloppily tried to cover up.

I was hired by Heathmill a few years back along with a bunch of new PA's and eventually ended up being Gershfield's personal PA (if you know what I mean). I've left now and am better off for it. At the time, I was going through a rough patch and needed the money, which is the only reason I did it. Yes, he's a bully, but he can pretty much afford to be. And he needs to be as he has a tiny 2 inch penis. I hope all the people he's screwed on here can take comfort in that.

Now that they are no longer stealing from Americans, Heathmill/ Meade are using their scams in the UK. Look what I found about one of their new ventures "Eyecare International" on this website. forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=2288565 Repeatedlyharassing people via emails, trying to collect money when they're not entitled, yep, same old Heathmill tactics! No, they are NOT any good. Last year, they came to our office park and we were given this fantastic talk by one of their reps about how simple and convenient it was to use them. I've never needed glasses but because the test was free and our HR people pushed signing up, I went ahead and got tested. The test itself was the only decent part, though the trailer they test is, a "Tardis" they stupdily call it, was freezing cold and wobbled every time someone moved. They told me I needed glasses and "bendable" frames. I told them I really didn't want any, but they must work on commission so they kept pressing on. Eventually, they badgered me into taking some sunglasses, which I was on the fence about, but they wouldn't let me leave until I'd signed a direct debit and sales agreement.A few days later, I saw the same pair cheaper at Vision Express and so I emailed my "Personal Manager" telling him I didn't want to proceed with my order. I didn't hear anyhting for a few weeks, so I didn' think much more of it. But then I started getting these ridiculous emails from "my glassess" telling me I needed to go collect them. I would also get constant emails stating I had a balance and needed to pay them. I would repeatedly respond to the emails but this only seemed to cause more emails to be sent out. And when I called them, they never answered the phone. After many many months of this, they finally stopped, but only because so many other people complained to our HR Director, that she contacted them and sorted the whole mess out. Needless to say, we're not having these amatures around again! I'd stay well away as they clearly don't know what they are doing and employ high pressure sales tactics to force people to buy things that they don't need.

Yes, this is the same Aaron Gershfield who made THE worst British film . . . EVER!

guardian.co.uk/film/2008/may/09/comedy

Yeah, that sounds about right. This man is a complete fool. I came on after this film was made when they were trying to make more. I remember the poor guy tasked with trying to sell this turkey. Needless to say, he didn't last long.
I left as they started the whole medical testing scam using the illegally built trailers out of tin foil and sticky back plastic . . . with monkeys on them!

The building Northway House has so many safety code violations, it should be razed to the ground. I'm sure if any of the current tenants knew the state of it, they'd all leave. We got sick of the fumes coming from the basement, as well as the total lack of any basic services, like toilets, which were disgusting and never worked.

And you can forget about receiving any of the "services" that we were billed for as a "serviced" office. That whole place and Aaron are a complete joke. Quite sad really that he used all that stolen American money to buy this building and then run it into the ground.

Aaron Gershfield, Ian Harris, Costas Michael, Gueogui Dimov, Sandeep and some other long timers still working there. All of which have no idea of business concepts and just kiss aarons ass! Its amazing and all I can say is they deserve each other. Its the most miserable, depressing, and unorganized place to work. AVOID at all costs! trust me you would rather go sign up on the dole then work here especially as they will fire you and get someone else within a month! They have something like 30-40 employees and have their own recruitment department! That says something!

Bodycare is live now but going really slow. I am sure we will see these idiots on panaroma or watchdog or something soon! Bunch of depressing and thoughtless prats!!

There was another guy, Mark Gottleeb? Is he still there? Used to sit on the first floor with that weasel Tim Johnson. Used to do all the cons for the Eyecare business, fraudulantly "sell" the service to these really big companies knowing full well they couldn't deliver anything and then walk away when there was a problem. Complete wanker.
