This is my first post, but i have been reading this site for a while as I'm trying to get out of payday nightmare like many of you. I figured someone on here may be able to help with this. I received a call from someone at united national legal telling me a lawsuit was being downloaded with my state against me, I live in new york, on behalf of cash net usa and that i could settle the matter out of court by paying 780. I have never had a loan with them, so I called them. I spoke with someone in both their collections dept. and fraud dept. and both confirmed with me that i have never had a loan with them and don't owe them anything. So I gave the info to the fraud guy at cash net. So what I was wondering was if anyone on here has heard of this united national legal or any place like that. Thanks for the help.

do as shazzers advises.espcially since payday loans are prohibited in NY they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Thanks for your help. I'm definitely not going to give them anything. The name the guy used was Richard. I've spoken to someone about filing with the Attorney general, but when spoke with this Richard again i couldn't get any information about the place from him. He told me he couldn't give any information about where they are located such as an address or anything like that. again thanks for your help. Now to move on to clearing up the few other payday loans i have. I'll post about those on another topic.

Ok so I got a call again today from this guy now he says his name is dan. he's telling me that now i can settle for 300 when he told me the other day thatI had to pay 780. He's also telling me that police will come to my work and that i can also be evicted from my house. I know from reading things on this site that that is not true. What course of action should i take now, just keep ignoring him?

Ok so the newest
I guess my file got "downloaded" because i got a call from the same guy i could tell by his accent and the phone number came up as the same as the one that they had been calling me on claiming to be a cop wanting to know what time i get off work. i couldn't really hear him and i lost the call. he called back and left a message i'm storing that to use if i can figure out something to do with these people. i called him back and told him to stop calling me and that i filing with the attorney general, not sure what to do about that if someone knows let me know. i also told him i was going to give the number and the message to my brother who is a cop and let him take care of it. then suddenly the line went dead. i'll see what happens and let you guys know.
I mean how stupid to call me with the same number and accent and claim to be nypd. like a cop would call me and ask me when he can come get me

:? it will be very hard to catch these criminals! they change phone numbers constantly. I have made reports to the FBI, but these people just dont give up. they are not calling as often anymore but now its about once a week . they leave a message and when I try to call them back the number is a non working number. Go figure, I actually want them to call me just so I can have some fun! I think everyone who gets a call from them should give them a hard time and mess around with them. after all, we know they are a fraud and they are not able to go through with there threats!
