Thanks. I was interersted in knowing if anyone has dealt with them before. I have been getting phone calls and I feel it is on a charged off credit card. I sent DV letters to Northland and LNVN? not sure of the spelling, and never received anything back validating the debt. Now I am getting calls from this place. I spoke to a Debt Consumer attorney and he said it was against the law for a debt buyer to sue and not validate the debt, but this company was notorious for it.

They are right, this company is well know for not validating, threats, etc. I had dealt with them in the past. I sent them a DV, with no response, lots of phone calls, and they got nasty.
They are part of the LVNV gang. Keep copies of all correspondence they send and you send. Also, keep notes of conversations, etc.
It is better to deal with them via the mail, they won't listen to anything you say.
They buy charged off debs and debts that are out of the SOL, mostly...Good luck..karen

Thanks. I looked up their website and they are hiding behind a debt attorney office. They have not called today because I told the woman who called me at work that I wanted it in writing. She was ticked that I would not speak with her. The attorney I talked to said this office files lawsuits unfortunately. I intend to fight it tooth and nail.

if they are acting as a the OC's attorney, are they bound by the same rules as a Collection Agency, with regard to the FDCPA? Something makes me think if they are acting on behalf as the original creditors attorney, they are not bound by the same rules but I could be wrong.

Unless they are actually suing you..then they are bound by collection laws....they will try to tell you that they are not...but until there is actually a claim in court, they are acting as a CA.

Goldenbeast~ This company is trying to "Settle" with me 60% on an account from LVNV Funding LLC. I sent LVNV a Debt Validation letter (Northland Group) months ago and never received anything from them until this letter from WWR. I am sending them a debt validation letter because the consumer attorney I emailed advised that unless the debt is validated, I should not have heard from these people because it is in direct violation of FDCPA. I wonder how I can file a complaint against them? I am still fairly new at all of this. I do know this is a "charge off" because it was on my credit report.
