Collection agencies for Payday-Loan-Yes aka MTE Financial
Date: Wed, 04/08/2009 - 00:28
MTE Financial aka Payday-Loan-Yes will use any means necessary to harass and intimidate customers. I have written several cease and desist letters which they continue to ignore. They kept calling my job even though I asked them to stop. For a couple of months they stopped calling. I thought they got tired and gave up.
Well, just recently, I started getting calls at work from different, unlicensed collection agencies. I've dealt with First National Services, The Law offices of Joe Peruzzio, Lighthouse Recovery . I have written cease and desist letters to these agencies. The most recent collection agency who has already contacted me at work is H&P Capital. I need to send them a cease and desist letter as well, but I'd like to get their email address.
Even though I have caller id at work, many times, I feel uncomfortable answering the phone because I fear that it's another collection agency for Payday-loan-yes. If it's a phone number that I don't recognize, I just wait for the caller to leave a message. Most of the time, it's one of the collection agencies for Payday-Loan-Yes.
This illegal payday lender has made my life miserable. A couple of times they left messages on my work phone pretending to be a law enforcement agency who was trying to conduct an internal investigation because someone had a complaint against me. I eventually "googled" the phone numbers and they all lead back to MTE Financial aka Payday-Loan-Yes. H&P Capital recently left a message stating that they want to know my whereabouts. Luckily, I have a direct work extension. But, it's still stressful knowing that they are impairing me from answering my own work phone.
Everytime I send their unlicensed collection agencies a 'cease and desist letter', Payday-Loan-Yes just fowards my account to another collection agency which turns out to be unlicensed as well. It's really frustrating and they just won't go away. They are as nasty as fungus...they just keep coming back.
As for H&P Capital, does anyone have their email address? Also, any suggestions would be helpful in dealing with Payday-Loan-Yes and their countless affiliates; they have so many dbas'-it's mind boggling! I hate Payday-Loan-Yes!! :x

Doesn't get any better than that.

MTE is by far one of the worst. They are not and never have been licensed anywhere. They have a zillion affiliates .I am sure that any collection agencies they use are equally illegal.Best .since DCC has started MTE has been the core of most pdl issues. Eventually they and their collection efforts will stop. It may take time but they will vanish. You know of course that they can not do anything to you.

It has been known to happen, but it is very easy to dispute and have removed from your report. An illegal loan company, using an illegal collection agency.

Just remember that the number of people that this forum has helped pales in comparison to the number of loans out there that are being paid day in and day out. For anyone that honestly believes that state or federal legislation will do away with all PDL's is sadly mistaken. The only thing that will happen is that the legal lenders will be done away with and the illegal lenders will circle the boat like hungry sharks!!

that is why whenever any pdl reform bill is introduced i look at it hard.they never seem to address internet pdl's and how most aren't licensed but in one state, they break the state laws of the consumer they lend to,but most of all act like the consumer is a criminal when they default on there illegal loan.until someone in power decides to actually regulate them and the bottomfeeders that collect for them.this forum will still be needed and will still be here.

There is no way to regulate the illegal lenders. Based on this fact, why would anyone want to mke them the only option?
BTW, have you looked at HR1214?

I agree with the 6 month EPP, they need to reduce the time for repayment. As for internet PDL's, I believe that legal lenders will abide by this law. As for the illegal lenders, there is no way to control them aside from making it easier for the borrower to distinguish between legal and illegal. I would like to see them not remove the arbitration clause, but that is another can of worms. The bottom line is that I am surprised that an elected official appears to actually listen both sides of the fence!
MTE Financial Collection Agency
I need some advice. I had a payday loan in Feb of 2007 for $400 with one of MTE's affiliates. I rec'd a call today from Rolo Investigations threatening me with criminal court action regarding bouncing checks. I closed my checking account based on advice I rec'd from Langhorne Law and individual posts on this site. They say I have 72 hours to pay $1720 in full or they will proceed with a criminal case against me for bouncing checks.
Can they do this? I'm ready and willing to pay the initial $400 I borrowed; however, the $1720 is outrageous. I need to know legally what specific actions they can take against me.
Thank you,
Tracey

MTE and there affiliates can do nothing.the threat of criminal action is a scare tactic.rolo investigations is an illegal collector for MTE.two points.
1)debts are civil matters
2)since it was internet you never gave them a check so their saying bounced checks is laughable.
will see what address i can come up with so you can send a DV letter to this bottomfeeder.
hmmmm,no address for them or lynch law office.what # comes up on your caller id?that might help.
