Crditcure and the law office of Richard A. Brennan have taken my money $1500, and done nothing in return. THEY ARE THIEVES. Many people on this site have had a bad experience with them-BEWARE.
Bad Eperience?
I started with CrediCure in 2004. my account was sent to the Law Office of Richard Brennar in January of 06 (I believe). I did have a hard time getting someone to answer the phone in January and Feb. However, since I got someone on the phone, I haven''t had any problems. I mean, I knew about how these programs worked before I started because I had worked for a credit card company in the past. I knew that nothing would happen over night. Although I had a few payments made late, my payments were always made. I just moved my creditor due dates and was fine after that. I haven't come across anyone else that had a bad experience with them, and since there aren't other posts, I wonder if you just had a bad experience... maybe you should contact them, I mean, not taking up for them by ANY stretch, just letting you know my experience. Once I got someone on the phone, my problems were resolved by my next statement (which as a credit card rep at one point, is pretty good). Hope things get better...

After the nightmare of having my accounts from credicure transfered to the law offices of Richard A Brennan I am now with a new company they turned the account over to about a month or 2 ago.
The February payment so many of us had autodrafted and not distributed by Brennan is still in their possesion and I have been trying since June to get it back. It is by their own admission that the payment was not distributed from February but they still have not fulfilled any of their promises to resolve since early June. On 8/24 a supervisor in their processing department gave me a line of crap and swore he would get to the bottom of it and call me back that day, needless to say I recieved nothing and can now get nobody on the phone. They also have a "circle" system going where when you select that you are a credit counseling customer that it just throw you back to the main message again. Due to numerous late payments in the short period of time with Brennan's office my wife's credit score dropped almost 80 points due to their actions, they deduct the money on time and hold it for weeks.
I spoke with the Maryland Attorney General office this morning and he did some internet searching while I was on the phone to see the amazingly high number of complaints with the local BBB and Federal Trade Commission. He recommended I call the Maryland Bar at 800-492-1964, they in turn had me call the Attorney Greivance board for the state of Maryland at 410-514-7051.
After speaking to a nice woman in their office it became clear to me that they had heard complaints about this office but she said there was no "public" information they could give me on an investigation.
She did however tell me to go online to their site and get a complaint form to file, here is the link

You can download a pdf and mail it in, I'm sure if they haven't already started an investigation they with enough of these complaints mailed in they will start rattling chains at the office.
I encourage anyone with a legitemate complaint to follow through with this. I hate that I have been forced into this action but they have my money and will not give it back. They do not return phone calls or e-mails and I cannot get anyone on the phone, what else should I do?
Payment issues
Upon reading further posts, I see some individuals who posted complaints about my office "holding" or "keeping" clients' payments. I urge those individuals to check their account statements to see who pulled their payments. My office has accounted for every payment pulled to date. All payments that my office has verified, have either been distributed to creditors, paid back to clients, or been properly distributed as fees.
Secondly, the problems with client payments appears to have come from clients being behind with CrediCure prior to their collapse. Unfortunately, I am unable to recover any of those payments. They only came to light when my law office stepped in and began correcting the accounting issues. Again, I urge those who post here, to contact our office so that we may resolve the issues.

On August 18,2006, you withdrawned $313.00 out of my banking account, but for some reason my credit account's never recieved a payment from your company, nor did I recieve it back in my bank account. Do to that said I went and paid off my account's that I had under your program with cash. I would like you to stop taking money out of my bank account, and I want to see that payment that you took from me and keep, put back in my account A.S.A.P. They aren't making payments to my creditors and they will not fax over their settlement information to me as I asked for it in writing. One person tells me its bankruptcy, another tells me it's not. All contact numbers they give me do not work. I am tired of this.

I just rec'd a call from their office treating to drop me or send me over to another company for my debt management. The idiot with whom I spoke REFUSED to give me his name until I agreed to sign up with his 'debt settlement' program. I declined of course. But still got his name ???????? Anthony Dusza, & once this as*hole gave it to me he had the audacity to swear he????????d told me twice before! This man was out of his fuc*ing mind thinking that I would agree to sign up for a damn thing without seeing what I was getting into. All of the questions I asked were answered with questions or completely ignored. When I asked where all of my previous payments had gone he said & I quote word for word "That's not my department & why should I care. I wouldn't even begin to know where to start investigating that". He was rude, discourteous & hateful speaking to me like I am fuc*ing ignorant. But that's nothing new considering my last Customer Service Rep Joy Flannery who very rarely returned calls & if she did she had the personality of a wet rag & the attitude of a hungry fat woman. The collections calls still have not stopped, no question was ever answered directly, no paper trail of my account could ever be produced, and emails were not returned. After 5 months of paying $173.00 a month into RA Brennan my creditors have not rec'd more than $10.00 each in payments (3 creditors=$30 - 173.00-30.00=$143.00 unaccounted for $143.00 x 5 mos. = $715.00). I????????ve paid in right at a thousand dollars yet my debt total increased by $1500.00. Every single payment was made late even though they were very careful to take my money out on time. I have left 15 voicemails a day for the past 3 weeks upon receiving the letter, I am sure we all got the letter, saying they needed $1500 as a retainer fee & then they'd also take as payment 15% of the amount saved by paying my creditors off in one lump sum. ARE YOU SHITTING ME?! If my creditors agree to be paid off in a lump some of 50% of what is owed then RA Brennan gets 15% of the other 50%!!!! They haven't paid a creditor on time in 5 months, my credit scores are ruined, late fees have been assessed, service charges piling up, interest rates steadily increasing and they want MORE MONEY?!. I did not get myself into my debt situation-I didn't even have a hand in it this was all thanks to my ex & his drug habits & sneaky spending sprees. I didn????????t find out about it until it was too late. Now I am being treated like an inferior, insignificant moron. If I could afford to pay off the debt, retainer fee, & yet still give away what I????????d saved by paying my credit cards of early I WOULDN????????T NEED TO BE ENROLLED IN THIS PROGRAM TO BEGIN WITH!!! On top of all this nonsense I now have Doctor bills & medication expenses to deal with the stress & depression this has brought on, is there no end?
I would advise everyone dealing with the thievery of RA Brennan, CreditCure, United Christian Financial/ Fidelity Reserves Corporation, etc. to get a good lawyer on their side. My family keeps a lawyer on retainer & he????????s as pissed, as I am that I????????ve been taken advantage of at a time when all I needed was help. Contact the Attorney General for your area, let the Better Business Bureau know, although all they can do is be a mediator in your case, check out the above posts for further complaint contact info & do all you can to stop this. Do it for you, do it for me, and do it for the person who is at wits end & about to sign into this program. Let????????s get together & see about something in the way of class action. I've had $300 loan with them like in early Jan 2006. They've been taken $90 out from my account every pay period up to today Sept. I'm adding up all that money like around $1200. I call them and ask them about it, they said that because i didn't call them and let them know that i just want to loan to extend 4 times that's y $90 every pay period is just the interest which mean that i still own them the principal $300. I told them that im just enroll in debt settlement program and my attorney will contac them. They told me to wait, then they put in back on the phone saying that Ok, your account is mark off, u don't own us anything. But i want my money back, this is ridiculous paying $1200 on a $300 loan, all that NSF and overdraft fees that i have paid my bank in the past i want all that back. Any advices??? I've contact my bank and let them know, they said the will look into it.
My Experience W/RA Brennan
When I first joined in Dec 2005, it was with Creditcure. However, all of a sudden, this company RA Brennan came in to the picture. My monthly payment of $802 was taken out of my account and my 3 creditors were being paid on time. That was until August of 2006. None of my creditors were being paid and the phone calls started. Joy Flannery was of no help to me what so ever so I started to correspond with Mateia Hartlove. She was somewhat helpful but after she kept saying I'll call you back (which she never did), she went on vacation. After hearing this, I hit the roof. I wrote Mr Brennan a certified letter (which to this day, I have not had a response)and also contacted the Maryland chapter of the BBB. I have not heard anything on that one either. Something must have been done because all of a sudden out of the blue, I received a phone call from Heather Durff, a paralegal at the firm. She has been most helpful and hopefully this will be straightened out once and for all. She faxed all the debt settlement information she sent to my creditors, and now I am satisified. Even when I called her 5 times in 1 day, she never sounded like I was a pain and she does return phone calls.

Seems like I'm not alone and facing this law office. They too have withheld my payments to my creditors even though the money keeps getting taken out of my account. I am then promised that the money will be returned after I have cancelled my account and then the office suddenly "closes" to update their records. I still have not been refunded my money. Best course of action now is to make a complaint:

Yet another complaint here. They refuse to pay my creditors or refund my money. I contacted the state attorney general. I will file complaints with every one I have to and get my own lawyer if necessary to get my money back.
Isn't it nice to see that Richard A. Brennan has his employees trying to defend his name on this website! One look at the BBB tells you what kind of man he is, and I don't think it falls anywhere near "honest and respectable!" Same can be said for anyone willing to work for him.

I uncovered the truth about Richard Brennan. He owned credicure. Check out my posts on another forum on this site. I located the IRS tax records that proves he owned credicure since 2003. How can he do this. So he can steal our money from one company then transfer us to another and do it all over again.

About a year ago I read the above complaints, and when I asked my paralegal at the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan, I was told that people misunderstood the purpose of the office. They handle debt settlement, not debt consolidation as Credicure once did. I had my doubts about using the office, and I should have kept them, but being reassured by the paralegal that this was my best option, I stayed.
I paid almost $1500.00 in a retainer fee and about $150.00 in filing fees. All they did for me was set up a bank account and take out their fees. I was sued by one creditor and continuously contacted by others. When talking to creditors and explaining what I was doing, it didn????????t matter. I would find out that they had not been contacted by the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan and I learned more about this settlement process through the creditors than I did the law office. When I would attempt to contact the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan through their website, their e-mails or the phone for some form of legal advice, they were unsuccessful in providing a response. For those of you looking to use this office keep in mind the legal process can still occur while waiting for your account to accrue enough funds for a payment and before that can happen, all other fees must be paid first.
Instead of waiting to be sued by the rest, I closed my account with the bank that the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan had set up for me, and wrote a certified letter to the Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan that I was canceling their services (or lack of) and requesting a refund. I would have gladly spoken to their office in person, but as stated earlier no one would respond. A week or two later I received a call that another company was taking over my account, then shortly after that I received a call from their office manager asking why I closed my bank account, all after they received my certified letter canceling. The office manager said that their accounting side should be looking at my request for a refund and they would get back to me (I have yet to receive even a letter informing me that they would not be able to honor my request).
I have since contacted my creditors and set up payment arrangements and settled with two. What The Law Offices of Richard A. Brennan took from me would have been enough to settle or pay off another account.
It is my personal opinion that their office took on more than it could handle after Credicure closed and people such as me and those above paid the price and learned a rather expensive lesson. It would have been nice if the office would have done the respectable thing of researching and refunding a percentage of the funds to those who never really used their legal services, but then again I guess opening a bank account should have a fee of $1500.00. Sadly it is my opinion that the Law Offices, such as, Richard A. Brennan make it hard for people to trust lawyers.

American Debt Negotiators/ Richard A Brennan LLC
My wife signed up with them, without my knowledge, after they called her, and we are on the do not call list. That was in April of 2007. The first I found out about it was when we received a letter in the mail saying we had been sued by one of our Credit Card CO.
So after 2 weeks of calling and finding out that they have not contacted any of our creditors, the late fees have almost doubled 2 of our accounts. I called the lowest one that should have been paid first and they had never been sent a dime. We have almost paid out $3500.00 and nothing is getting done. I called them at 561-483-7337 [somewhere in Florida] and was hung up on, accidently disconnected [convienant on thier part], and given the run around when I was lucky enough to get ahold of anyone. I have sent them faxes stating that I nno longer need thier services and to the bank that was taking money out of my account. The money taken and the avaiable amount was about half of what it should have been after paying thier fees. What a nightmare. The first card Co. I called immediaetly sttled for half of what I owed them. Now why could American Debt Negotiators not get that done. The amount was only 800 dollars so I know they had enough money to pay them. and probably paid another one off before all of the late fees started to drasticly raise the amount owed.

Contact the Attorney General for your area, let the Better Business Bureau know, although all they can do is be a mediator in your case, check out the above posts for further complaint contact info & do all you can to stop this. Do it for you, do it for me, and do it for the person who is at wits end & about to sign into this program. Let????????s get together & see about something in the way of class action. I hope your stree get worse. I am having a gret day. If you never worked in the law business or finance you have no idea what happend to credit cure and why Richard A. Brennan took on the accounts. Richard A. Brennan my have used money for his personal exspenses but before he started to feel entiled to the $$ he tried to help all you out be working your files. He could have just left them in the office of credit cure when they closed and none of you people would have had nothing done or called. You would have had to call the FEDS. they closed credit cure. Richard A. Brennan did not work for credit cure is was there Attorney.
