CA calling for wrong debt: Where to complain against Allied Interstate
Date: Tue, 06/13/2006 - 18:28
allied interstate. All calls have been for someone who has not lived at this address in several years and cannot be reached through this telephone number. That information does not slow them down a stroke. "Allied Interstate Collections call here as many as seven times a day (that's the current record). Sometimes the calls are taped messages asking me to call a certain number. Sometimes they are another taped voice saying, "Please hold". And sometimes it is actually a human. I never give them anything anymore, and I bombard them with demands to know who I'm speaking to and the city and state from which they are calling. The last caller, one Vanessa Quinn, said she could not give me address information "because {the person sought} has not given permission". If anyone happens to have the various address of Allied Interstate, I surely would like to have them. Then and only then, can I send registered mail and have it count for something.

I don't deal with any scumbags in this country let alone outside this country. If you get a summons answer it and sue them for harassment, they will possibally drop the suit albeit without prejudice which means the next scumbag jdb can start it all over again when the debt they gave $10 for gets bought for $5 by th next dirtball. NEVER IGNORE A SUMMONS OR THEY WIN BY DEFAULT. DON'T GIVE THEM THE SATISFACTION. You are only required to pay the original creditor, that is the law, you don't owe a collection agency anything unless they can prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that they were ASSIGNED the debt legally by the OC. Fight'em, you'll be surprised of the outcome. Then maybe collect some money ie. $1000 per instance for a bogus listing on your CR. Food for thought. :)
Address
I have it as: P.O. Box 361445 Columbus, OH 43236. But there are many others for this fraud company - they started calling me once i bought a house (a house where the past owner past away - of course) such slimy nasty unprofessional people. If sending your C and D letter - let me know, i am about to get evil on them. ;)
Calling Cell Phone
A collection agent by the name of Aliss keeps calling my cell phone. I ask her to please call my home and she refuses. She harasses me several times and calls back on a private number.I plan to sue them for harassment.
How to stop the calls.
This is what worked for me. Call the company that owns allied which is Icor. They have a consumer help line 1-800-811-4214. Explain that you are being harassed or not the right number and you want this number taken off the list. Remember to be very nice when you call. This also works for NCO if anyone wants the info. X

I don't ahve a lot of time to deal with these thugs but I get calls from them and don't owe anyone any money What action can I take that only takes 15 mintues to get them to know I will drive them out of business and into prison where they belong if I have to
Ok...debt are civil and not criminal...so they wont go to prison
Ok...debt are civil and not criminal...so they wont go to prison. And you wont drive them out of business either You need to write a cease and desist letter and send it certified mail, return receipt requested. Dispute the debt and tell them never to contact you again.

Allied Interstate called this morning looking for someone else. They would not give any details but continued to ask me for details about this person they were looking for. When I called back and asked for information about their purpose and how they received my number, they told me they were recording the call (as if I was the problem instead of them). They also gave me this address in Illinois but said they were physically located in Columbia, Ohio. When I did some internet research on them I saw the terrible reputation they have and am worried that they will begin to harass me in an attempt to find whomever it is they're looking for. If anyone knows how a D.C. resident can put this type of company on notice or stop such phone calls, let me know. Thanks, 'Concerned'

I have received numerous phone calls from a toll-free number (888-748-4956), but I ignore toll-free numbers. Today, after receiving 8 calls between 10 and 2, I finally answered. The caller asked for "Kim". I said "Kim"? She said "Kim Norris". I told them that person didn't live here. The woman said she would remove our number. After I got off the phone, my husband told me that was the name of his ex-wife's ex-husband! I got 2 more calls, which I ignored, but the next call I answered. I told them I didn't know the man, that he had once been married to my husband's ex-wife. She asked if I had an alternate number!! I said I never knew the man & I have no idea where he is!
I am wondering where they got our number. We have lived in this house for 7 years now. My husband was divorced in 1996 & his ex-wife was only married to the other man for 6 months. My husband's ex-wife never lived in this house, so where did they get our number?
After I received another call from them, I found this web site. I called the Attorney General (listed above). He was VERY nice & very helpful! He told me to write them a letter telling them to cease & desist all contact with us because we have no association to the person they are trying to collect from. Also, to put in the letter that we want a reply in writing that they are going to take care of the matter.
I had never heard of "skip tracing". It amazes me that they thought we would know the whereabouts of an ex's ex or that they would call this number & ask for him like he lives here!

I continue to receive calls from this company even though I have asked and even told them to stop calling my number. They call me at home and also on my cell phone. They call at least once per day and yesterday I told them I was contacting my attorney as they are continuing to harass me. Today they called on my home phone and I even have their number blocked on my service. This is getting ridiculous. I am really sick of this harassment.
Allied Interstate AKA: iQor Inc
Get calls from this place far too often. They never speak to me when I pick up, so I have no idea what they're calling for. From all the posts I've read on the web, they are most likely calling every possible phone number they can program into a computer. Allied Interstate was sued by the AG of MN back in 2005 or so.
They now are a subsidiary of iQor.
Oh, and he's doing just fine, he and his family live in the Corcoran building at 135 Central Park West in NYC. Even has his phone number published in his wife's name - how nice for her.
Good luck everyone out there getting these dogs to play by some rules.
Well they called here. They don't have any right to call someon
Well they called here. They don't have any right to call someone they haven't done business with. That is the law and they can expect to be sued if they call here again. I already looked up there business address and will file a claim next time. I'll have the sheriffs at their business if the keep this shit up.
harrassment calls
they have been calling me for several months now. They insist that they talk to my lawyer because i will not give them my social security number date of birth etc. THey have thretened to take my house and all I own if i do not pay them. They have never once stated how much I owe them, where from, for what, etc. All they state is that I owe and have to pay. They do not even know what state I live in etc. but they want my social security number, address, bank info etc. They leave voice messages but no names. They do not even know who I am. They are just fishing to steal someones identity and should be prosecuted!!!!!!!!!!!

Allied interstate have stopped asking for various people and now they just leave the name of their company on my phone or when I pick up the phone. I supposed their people got tired of me telling them off. Anyway, I appreciate the information.
It is a sad day when we are held captive in our own homes.
Allied Interstate
I have received a few calls from these people and each time I said hello, they hung up. I just called the number back. They are looking for a distance relative that I believe is dead. It is a collection. I told them nothing, let them hunt him to his grave

I just got a new unlisted phone number two weeks ago. The very next day I began to get calls from Allied. I owe no one, have never done business with these people and am plagued by their calls constantly. I called the 800 number they gave me and told them to stop with these calls or I would report them since I am on the Do Not Call Registry.
What a pain in the A** they are.
The Do Not Call list does not apply to collection agencies.

They started calling my number asking for someone I never even heard of. After several days of asking them to stop calling I told them they would receive 100 calls for every time they continued to call me. I did that for a couple of days. Calling and hanging up or waiting for them to hang up 100 times for every time they called me after I asked them to stop. Within a couple days I didn't get any more calls. If everyone did this it might really get them to reconsider their tactics as their costs would rise.

i am from Canada.....and for some reason they started calling my cell#. I have no reason for them to do so. I even checked my credit report to make sure i'm in good standing. But I get only recordings from Allied....and today they are already up to calling me 4 times and its only the middle of the day!!!
Allied Interstate
Since they have been calling my cellphone looking for someone I do not know, I am reluctant to write a cease and desist letter because I would have to include my own personal details that I do not want to divulge to an unscrupulous company like allied. Each time they call, I tell them to take my number off since they obviously have the wrong number. They assure me every time that they noted the account and the number will be removed. But lo and behold, the next time they call, I inform them the steps I've taken to get this number removed and the caller tells me that no one from his company has ever called me before, or no one by that name has ever worked there before when I furnish a name of the caller.
If they are recording calls, they don't state that at the beginning of the call. Isn't that against the law?

To the person above: I had the same situation. I sent a "cease communication with phone number "***-***-****". I did not give my name out--post office said that confirmation mail needed a return address only (which I put on the envelope) but I guess you could put the collector's address on it. They never called again & no letters at all (which I could have returned since they'd be for someone else).

Regrettably, these collection firms will eventually sell the debt to another collection firm and the harrassing will begin anew. Only a written letter sent certified mail, return receipt requested, has any possibility of stopping the phone calls. I have a standard letter I send every time and it is the only solution. In every case they ceased contacting me.
I am glad Allied was just find 1.75 million by the FTC.

This company has been calling me non-stop. 2 days ago, I received 12 calls from them and that did it. I called them back, got someone from India and asked why she is calling me non-stop. She proceeded to tell me that she was looking for so and so. Well, that person is not me and I don't know who it is. I explained that to her and she again asked for so and so. By this time, I was ticked off. I told her that she is to remove my number from the list NOW and that this was a C&D order. She proceeded to babble. I cut her off and told her that if I got one more harrassing phone call from them, that I was reporting them to the FTC.
She hung up on me and I haven't heard from them since. Ah...silence is golden.

ALLIED INTERSTATE has been calling 10 to 15 times for about a month now. I need to now 2 things, how long is statute of limitations, and if nothing is reporting on my credit report does that mean the SOL has expired. I've been afraid to contact and start the harassment process in fear of some SOL loophole. Debt came of my report in Sept. use to get a call once in awhile from another collector (Asset Acceptance) then it came off my credit report and I now get harassed constantly....... I have to make it stop!
The statute of limitations (SOL) will vary from state to state.
The statute of limitations (SOL) will vary from state to state. You will have to check out your state laws and get to know whether or not the SOL expired. If the SOL period has expired, then the collection agency won't be able to take any legal actions against you. As per the FDCPA laws, your collection agency will not be able to harass you for your debts. If they are doing so, then you can sue them. Contact an attorney and he will be able to help you in this matter.

Just because the SOL has expired does NOT mean that the CA's cannot call. You still owe the debt.....however legal action cannot be taken or if it is taken, you have a defense. Unless you send them a FOAD letter telling them to bug off and not to call you again, they can continue to call.

If you've received calls on your cellular/mobile device from Allied Interstate for debts/bills you do not owe, please call The Mathews Law Group at 626.683.8291. You're entitled to compensation under federal law and there is no cost to you.
What to do in this case
don't bother with the BBB. That organization doesn't do anything. file a formal complaint on the FTC website.

I received a call from these people tonight, trying to collect on an account that I supposedly haven't paid since 2000. the bill was for 120.00 but the would settle it for 34.00. They use scare tactics and before I knew it I had given them my. Credit card number. After I hung up, I called the company that they said I owe and was told that they have no recordes of me. I contacted moy bank and blocked my credit call.

If I were you I would also close that card and have a new one sent to you....otherwise they may very well try to randomly hit the account. You should call them back, explain that you canceled the card and that you need for them to send you a letter, that you will be expecting validation before you even agree to a payment.
