It is obscenely hot here and a girl cannot take it!

Is anyone else tired of this heat?

I'm dying for a big, fat, sloppy, greasy pizza today. there is a gas station down the road from my neighborhood that makes better pizzas than pizza hut or papa john's. I need one for dinner.

Tonight is the first real NFL game of the season, the HOF game, so I will justify it that way.

I love hot fudge sundaes, too...

wow. Well, I understand the texture thing, I can't stand jello or pudding.

I don't do beans, either. I can't even choke down chili.

I love buffets, though, more than anything. My husband thinks they're gross. he won't go to fire mountain. Polly, lets you and me go there sometime, because that's the only way I'm going to get to go.

Right, and the same is true of cottage cheese mixed in Jello! I do not understand some people. Does your mom put marshmallows on sweet potatoes? Mine does, and how gross is that! My mom also used to crush up the last few potato chips in the bag and put them on top of tuna casserole. I will never make my children eat crap like that!

My mom puts french dressing and black pepper on cottage cheese. Now that's sick.

Tuna casserole is wrong no matter what. We're catholic, so we never ate meat on Friday during Lent. So..My Mom frequently made salmon patties, which are beyond sick. She always served them with peas, which are my least favorite vegetable.

I think cottage cheese is nasty regardless. I have seen people put friggin peaches in that stuff! Gross!

My grandpa pores milk over his green beans or peas. That always made me ill to watch him eat that.

Tuna fish and peanut butter are my dire straits food. They sit in the cupboard untouched until I am too broke to buy anything better, and then I eat them. I usually like to make croquettes with tuna though.

Or tomato soup.

I can't tolerate mac and cheese either. My husband loves the stuff..And he pours a can of tomato soup in there with the milk.

I love peanut butter, but it has to be Jif, no exceptions. And I like Doritos with it, on the side and on the sandwich. Plus a big glass of milk with a ton of quik powder in it.

I know it..Or banana milk. My husband grew up with some very thrifty parents. My father-in-law is a Nuclear Engineer at the plant in South haven, so come on, he makes dang good money. Plus My Mother-in-law is a nurse practitioner.

Eating dinner there is awful..One time she made a pork roast and I thought it was turkey. And dinner during Lent..She makes boxed scalloped potatoes and adds cream of mushroom soup and frozen lima beans and carrots. She serves a side of not-rinsed gritty spinach salad and freezer burnt bread. My husband said they used to eat spam sandwiches, they'd grill them like burgers. Thank God I have never had spam before.

I run every day and play raquetball a couple times a week just so I can freakin' eat. I swear, I eat really healthy all week long, then give up the ghost on Sat and Sun...And I'm not joking, If I didn't excercise as much as I do I'd be in awful awful awful shape. I'm pathetic.

Now with football season coming I tend to eat really bad..The first month of season is a "month of firsts"...First game, Dolphin's first game, first Sunday game, first afternoon game....You get the picture. So each of those firsts must be celebrated with velveta dip..A jar of Mrs. Renfro's habanero salsa melted with velveta mexican cheese. That'll put the love handles on in a hurry

Allright everyone, top this! In Denmark, where my husband grew up, fish is the abundant source of protein and is sold and consumed in many forms. Including pickled raw fish and jellied fish which my husband is just gaga about! It is eaten on a piece of rye bread! To me, it smells like feet, but it's the only way my husband will take fish. I also once followed him out into the kitchen in the middle of the night while we were visiting his parents for Christmas, I saw him eating what looked like a baguette, but it was actually a whole smoked eel! Still had the skin and the head on!

Ari, that does not sounds good to me.

My ex's mom and dad are Jamaican, and they bring back salted dried fish from their trips. She boils it in water with corn meal, onion, tomatoes, and who knows what else. It is actually an African dish. It smells absolutely horrific when it is cooking. I tried a bite to be polite, and it was FABULOUS! I should have known because she is the best cook in the whole wide world.

I have the best recipe for spinach dip.

1 pack creamed spinach
1 jar marinated artichoke hearts
1/4 cup of real mayo
1/4 cup of sour cream
1 cup of finely shredded parmesan cheese

Drain and chop the artichokes and throw it all together in a pan. Bake it til it is golden on the top.

Trust me, double the recipe, otherwise you will wish that you had!

howsabout a recipe for healthy poached salmon?

1 salmon (duh)
2 cups water
3 slices white onion
2 lemon slices
3 peppercorns
2 sprigs of parsley

bring everything except the salmon to a simmer in a shallow pot, when the poaching mixture is boiling, add the salmon and cook for 10 minutes or until cooked through. The highlight of my blood pressure lowering diet!
