PO Box 596

You can file your complaints at the local consumer protection office with all the papers of proof. Also, you can lodge your complaints at the FTC, BBB.

I really hope that we should see some actions against these companies with fraudulent intentions. We all have been scammed in one way or the other.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice a T-Mobile to SAM trend?

Kathy, lots of consumers here are complaining that Superior Asset Management is assigned to collect debt of T-Mobile which is unknown to them. If you are asked to pay some debt by the company, please ask them to validate it. Without it, you are not legally required to pay it. Do all your correspondence through certified mail with return receipt requested so that you have information about it.

This Company has way too many addresses and phone #'s. This is crazy. I want to send them a dispute letter and I don't know which one to use. I have:

348 Miricle Strip Parkway South
FT. Walton Beach, FL 32548

PO Box 4339
FT. Walton Beach, FL 32549-4339

PO Box 5789
Clearwater, FL 33758

So which one do I use? One of these or the one above that a guest found on Better Business Bureau?

Thanks Roxette, Yeah went to the police and filed a report. The police also called wanted to call the attorney to see what proof they had on this and they were jerks about it and so we filed a report. They told me to keep them posted on this case.

I'm glad you contacted the authorities, and even more encouraged that they seemed to take a serious interest in this case, and are seeking follow up from you . Please keep us informed as well of the out come.

Just a heads up if you need to get dispute packet from SAM it doesn't exist. T-Mobile told me to ask for one from SAM and SAM told me to just write a dispute letter. Then I went to ask about the packet and they hung up on me. Luckily I already sent them the certified letter I found in the samaritian club from jtucker called the sample debt verification letter. Its a great letter! I took it to the police station to file a report and they even said it was great and they made a copy of it (my revised version).

Hi Clay, T-Mobile didn't say much except that I have to get in contact with the collection agency that is handling the account which is SAM. T-Mobile said they are no longer in charged of the account since its in collections. They also said to ask for a dispute packet from SAM.
I try to do as much as I can on my days off from work. I called 8 different places. Its really exhausting. I even called EAP (Employee Assistance Program) through my work for an attorney too. I just left a message for him. I can get 30 minutes of free counselling to help me with my case. Hopefully this will be over soon.

Ben
I only sent Experian a letter in Sept. and called them and TransUnion. Should I send them another and also one to TransUnion? I've also requested an online dispute with both of them. I noticed that the T-Mobile/SAM isn't on my Equifax credit report, but when I called TransUnion, they notify all the credit bureaus of a fraud alert.

Hi Roxette! It has been more than 30 days and I haven't heard from SAM either by mail or phone yet. I was advised by a paralegal to wait ( I'm not really sure how long though ). Experian won't block this negative item on my credit report. They told me to present a letter from the creditor stating that they are releasing me from the debt. Do you have a sample letter that i can send to experian to let them know that SAM failed to respond and that they have to remove the negative item on my credit report? I can attach with the letter the copy of the mail receipt that somebody from SAM did get my dispute letter. What do you think?

Hey I just received one of my certified letters back from SAM yesterday. Its a step and moving slowly. I also made a list of the steps I have done to try to fix this (with dates and phone #'s). I also received a letter from my city, Public Safety. They want me to call and report criminal activity. Its from my Police report. Its called Victim Services about Identity theft. They gave me these websites:

http://www.federaltradecommission.com/
https://www.usps.com/

These websites help with reporting a fraud or criminal activity with the federal Trade Commission, if anyone has or is using your social secruity # and if anyone is getting into your mail. Wanted to share this, hope this helps others as well.

I recently obtained several hundred pages of Consumer complaints filed against SAM, and this was a recurring problem. Particularly with Experian refusing to delete out dateed, erroneous, false or invalid information from SAM. You may want to dispute the report with experian. If they say they were able to validate the debt, then you are entitled to know exactly how they were able to validate the report.

Thanks Roxette and Clay for your help.I do feel helpless right now.I have continued to call SAM and i couldn't get a hold of anybody.I've left several msgs and nothing was returned.I've been talking with our company's lawyer - telling him what i have done so far.he said he can only send a strong letter and hope that SAM would respond if they see that a lawyer did sign the letter.i'm not really sure if that's gonna help considering that SAM won't respond to anyone.

I will be sending the letter that Roxette posted and hope for the best.Again, thanks for your help and i will keep you posted.

I have tried to call these people about an outstanding bill that i was not aware of; until i tried to re-establish phone service with TMobile. All i get is an automated service and then im put on hold. when they finally come back its another automated service sending me to a voice mail box. They ask for my name and telephone # then it hangs up.
I have not received any letters from this company nor have i received any phone calls. How can i get in touch with them to clear up this old bill.

thanks
laura

Hi Iwishyoulove

Welcome to the forums.

It seems that the previous company whom you made the payment has not updated your account with the credit bureaus. Write a letter to that company explaining the need to update your file because it is hurting your credit ratings negatively and you are being contacted by some other agency for the same account.

You can also place a dispute with the credit bureau that has reported this account. They will investigate it with your information providers. After your dispute is found to be valid, they will update it and send you a free copy. Usually, it takes 30 days to send you a free copy of your CR. Hopefully, you will get positive results and improve your credit worthiness.

I have been in contact with SAM and they agreed upon a 50% settlement but refuse to send me anything in writing. Is this acceptable practice? They said they would then send a closing statement after payment was recieved 3-21 business days later. Should I pay this and expect the account to be closed or are they just trying to be coniving and get some money while they can??

I would like to, but they said that the agreement upone 50% would only be good for 15 days. Should I still wait?

I filed a chapter 7 Jan. 05 Tmobile was one of the accounts that I included, It was discharged in March 05. Recently I tried to re-establish service (since I have been paying my mom's bill and using her service as my own) with TMobile and I was quickly denied because my record shows that the account is in collections. Can this be removed or would I just have to pay them? I did have a similar situation with a check that bounced, and a fraud agency was trying to get me on charges because they were not aware that it was included in a bankruptcy. They just asked me to forward a copy of my discharge and they were good on the matter, could this be the case with such an account such as TMobile and SAM? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brenda, if the account is in collections, it means that TMoblie has either hired them or they have sold the account to them. If they have hired the CA, you can still pay the creditors and won't have to pay anything to the CA. But if the account has been sold off, you will pay only to the CA. To know the actual status of your account, call TMobile and inquire the latest standing.

You can also pull a latest copy of your credit report and know the latest status. If the account is shown with zero balance, you will have to deal with the CA only.

I recieved a message on my answering machine from SAM today about a company that I wasn't invovled with but a former business associate was. The caller ID showed 800-895-2989 but the call back number left on the voice recorder was 800-895-2989. I hope this will help someone. I'll be interested in seeing what they want.
