I am in the same boat . That nasty lady her name is Phylli. She is very rude. They got me the same way. I filled out something for a loan and then in September I see 21.95 deducted from my account. I called in Oct or Nov because I thought the deduction was for a hositpal bill I was paying down, but it wasn't. I certified mailed the cancelation letter mailed this out the second week of November and yesterday I checks my account and another 21.95 was deducted. WHO THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE! HOW CAN THEY DO THIS! HOW CAN I GET A REFUND! COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME, BECAUSE THIS IS FRUSTATING.

Talk to your bankers. They will conduct verification on this item and Roadside USA has to give the complete details. If they are unable to provide the required info, the bank will perhaps credit the account.
You stated that you have sent the cancellation letter of the subscription to Roadside USA and after receiving your letter, they have debited your account. This puts you in a situation where you have to consider closing your checking account because they have your banking information as well as hire an attorney.
File your complaints at the FTC, BBB as well as the state attorney general office and bring this matter to legal attention.

I also have had the horrors of dealing with this company. I have been given the run around as all of you have. I have filed a complaint with the Las Vegas BBB. I am drafting a letter to the State Attorney's office both in PA (where I live) and NV. Good luck to all of you.

On other thing I forgot to mention, if you go to the Las Vegas BBB and do a report on this company, you will see that they have had at least 38 reports on this company, they ARE NOT a member of the BBB, and possibly they are an unlicensed business.

12/2/05 3:30 PM WOW...I just got off the phone with these people, I spoke to Stan in Customer Service, he said I had to write to cancel my account, however when I told him that I read about the company on here AND ripoffreport.com he said that he could cancel it over the phone. I then asked about a refund, he said he couldn't do that. I asked him if anyone there could do that, his responce was "sorry I don't have that information" So, I asked him who his supervisor was, he said Vicky, I asked to speak to Vicky, he said " I don't have her number" He then asked me if I had called today, I said I did, he told me to get more information on the web site. I asked him for the web address, of course he couldn't provide that to me. So, here I am adding my comments to this site, I will be adding the additional information to the complaints filed with the Las Vegas BBB and Attorney General's office. One additional note, he said THEY DO NOT have an office in New York as was previously posted on this forum.

I just noticed a charge from "ROAD866-3218235" which is how it is listed on my online bank statement. I work in a lawfirm that specialize in consumer fraud and that is what this is. I have read what the majority of you have done as far trying to get your money back. Contacting the BBB, FTC and your attorney generals are all great and correct. I am not concerned with getting my money back because I have been through the same thing but with even more money involved ($399 to be exact...with a different company of course) My point is where there's a will, theres a way and you can get your money back. Just remember, when you contact your bank to get these people to stop taking money out of your account, especially if you get them to do a stop payment, always ask your bank to block the company by their "ID code". Every company that draft money from your account has an "ID code". Therefore, if you block their company name and amount they are drafting, they can always throw a different amount in and still get money from your account. But if you request a stop payment against their ID Code, they can not get any amount of money from your account and neither can any company that's affiliated with them. I called the number that shows up on my account. I spoke to a female who told me that I had to cancel in writing. I told her that i never joined in writing therefore I should be able to cancel over the phone. After a short agruement I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told that there was not one available. After requesting to speak with a supervisor for the 5th time the lady told me that she was the supervisor so I then requested to speak to her supervisor and she told me that there was no one above her. I asked for the owners name and number and was told to have a nice day and she hung up on me. I later called back and was told to call the billing department but they did not know the number. So what kind of business is it that the employees do not have the number for accounting?

Same type of problem is faced by many of us here. Money is getting debited from the bank account even though they have not subscribed for anything.
Moreover, this company has many consumer complaints filed at the FTC, BBB as well as the state attorney general office. I suggest you also to file your complaints because the federal authorities will take necessary actions only after they have received large number of complaints.
It will also be helpful if you can talk to your bank regarding this matter. Most probably, they will also help in crediting back the money into your account.

Same deal. 21.95 debited. called them (1866321****/1866898****) getting busy signals.. so i decided to file with bbb and the state attorney, and also called my bank and asked them to investigate it and to also block the id code. so hopefully that helps, in about 7 days ill know if i can get my 21.95 back... and ill keep you updated. ive also decided to send a letter regestered mail to both address (one one in NY and the one in NV) for cancelation.

I did ask for a refund and she did tell me that I needed to send a request in, I then told her that I wanted to do it by phone some how because I was reading on line at how they tell people that all the time and they get no respons by mail. I also told her,(mind you this I was killing her with kindness and she was verry nice back) The bbb had them listed and she then said well if you call back later there will be someone here to refund for you??

You need to file your complaints regarding the illegal activities of Roadside USA at your nearest consumer protection office. Also, place your complaints at the FTC and the BBB. Depending upon the large number of complaints received from the consumers, they need to take legal actions against Roadside USA very soon.
You also need to send a cancellation letter to the mailing address of the company. Most probably, they will look into the matter and stop further debits after you have sent your notification. Talk to your bank and ask them to investigate the matter. Perhaps, they might help in getting your money back.

I got online to check my account this morning and had a $21.95 debit from them. I called the # on the charge and got a very rude lady that pretty much told me it was too bad. She couldn't tell me when I had signed up or if there were going to be any other surprises coming out of my account. She said she would cancel it and if I wanted a copy I needed to send a request in writing.
If anyone has advice on who to call and report these people I would love it. This is insane that someone can get your account # and just start taking money with out you even knowing about it. I have no idea when anything about roadside service even came up on the screen.

I was ALSO scammed by these jerks!, and I got the same NASTY woman named Tina on the phone who claims she's the manager, then I called back after she hung up on me and spk to Stan, who was almost as rude. I called my bank and put a stop payment on the check/debit, and had my bank document them as ICheckTech (which is what was on my bank account with the phone # 866-321-8235) AND for Roadside Plus (which is the name they gave me when I called)It's the same thing with me, they say I applied for a payday loan and signed up for it...which payday loan? shouldn't we go after THAT company too? I'm FUMING! Tell me who to fight and i'll fight!...tell me who i can report them to...a link for the BBB or State Attorney's office, now I have $30 in overdraft charges!!! They said they cancelled it and he gave me a cancellation #...any advice?

First of all, you need to place your complaint against Roadside Plus at the attorney general office in your state. You should also submit your complaint at the FTC and the BBB website.
Many consumers have already placed their complaints against this company because they are doing such illegal activities on a regular note. If you are unable to stop the debits in the future, you will have to consider closing the account.
Request your bank and place each of the debits in dispute with the company. If the company fails to provide verification, you are likely to have your money back from the company. If they don't do, you can take legal counsel.
Send a cancellation request to the company in writing and force them to give you in writing that the account has been cancelled. Basically, you will have to collect all the evidences to make your case stronger against Roadside Plus. Remember, all your correspondences with this company should be through certified mail with return receipt requested.

I discovered a charge on my checking account dated 12/16/05 for $21.95 for roadside service I never signed up for. I don't drive and don't own a car. I called the company and they said I must have signed up for something. they would cancel the service per my phone call on 2/22/2005, but could not send me a copy of the application I must have completed until I wrote and requested it. After reading these other victim stories, something has to be done about this. I am calling 7 on your side also.

It is also necessary to file your complaints against them at the FTC, BBB and state attorney general office. They are already receiving complaints in bulk each day and hopefully, they will be forced to take necessary actions soon.

I just hate to close my account, re-order checks, etc. etc. I wonder if there is a way we can get this company via a lawsuit to reimburse everyone for their time, money, etc. We should file a class action lawsuit against them. If they are openly scaming people with no fear of reprocution, then they MUST be affiliated with a larger company that has the financial backing to handle a lawsuit. We have all the necessary evidences of their fraudulent activities and the legal complaints with the attorney general offices. We need to consult an attorney that handles these kinds of lawsuits. My account has been hit twice for the $21.95. I reside in South Carolina and these are hitting alot of people, I got the same thing when I called the 1-866-321-8235 as to the fact that I must have signed up for it. They do need to be stopped.

Remember when you have a will; you will have a way of getting your money back. Contact your bank for stopping these people from taking money out of your account. There is a way to block the ID code of the company since every company that drafts money from the consumers' accounts has a specific "ID code". By doing this the company with a particular amount will get blocked. But they can again try with a different amount and thus take out money from your account.
So, put a stop payment against the company's ID code. By doing this, they won't be able to take out any amount of money from your account. Any company affiliated with them will also get blocked as a result. Hope this helps and good luck to you all!!

Many of us are having similar problems with Roadside USA. Some of us here have managed to get the debit blocked through their bank. You need to explain your bank more seriously about this debit. Tell them that if they don't block the debit, your money will go wasted each month for no reason.
If they are unwilling to work on this matter, close your account. That's the only solution to stop the debits from Roadside USA.
As others have done, you must also file your complaints at the FTC and the BBB as well the local AG's office.

I have a similar problem, I noticed this morning that there was a strange debit for $21.95 from a company called ICHECKTECH-Roadside Plus.. When I researched with my bank, since Roadside hadn't "opened" yet.. I discovered, that the same company attempted to put a check for $21.95 thru last month, which when I saw and noticed that the bank recredited the next day, assumed it was a bank error, Now I find out that 5 days after they tried to put thru a "CHECK" that I hadn't authorized, they put a ACH Debit thru for the $21.95, Somehow, since it was my bank cycle week, I hadn't noticed... So now I'm out the almost $44.00, not that its a large sum of money but, Its my money...
Also, I called the bank, she informed me nicely that I could file a dispute and since I hadn't authorized this that would mean they don't have proof, then I will more than likely get my money back, in my eyes that isn't good enough.. She asked how they got my acct info.. I said, how should I know.. She informed me to call again to the 800# and ask them.. Which I did, this time a gentleman was kind enough to cancel it for me, however, when I asked he didn't answer instead started questioning me, DId I apply for any credit online, Did I buy anything online, To which I said, other than ebay and amazon, NO!!!! He continued on with his BS and informed me that I must have applied for credit, and the credit company offered me a free 7 day trial, which had expired... WELL DUH!!! I told him, that I don't participate in free trials, because as we all have learned, there isn't anything in life that is completely free. HE stuck to his ground, said he would cancel it but there wasn't a thing I could do about my money...
My Question, Isn't it illegal to do this, how can they take money without my signature or my permission... And What about the fact that they put a check thru my account that was bogus...

The company has to prove each of the debits made by them. If they are unable to verify them, money should be credited back to your account or else you will have to involve your attorney.
Monitor your bank account closely during the coming months. It might happen that Roadside will try to make the debits again. If they do so, you will have to close your checking account and open a new one.
File a complaint against Roadside USA at the local AG's office. They must be having loads of consumer complaints against the company. You would also be interested in filing your complaint so that legal actions can be taken soon.
Also, put your complaint at the FTC and the BBB. It will be good for the new customers who are doing research on such companies. They will get an idea about this company and stay away from them.

After receiving a payday loan, there was also a charge of 21.95 on our online account. We contacted the number 866-321-8235 immediately and talked to "Mary" who confirmed the service that I had not signed up for had been cancelled but assured me I would not get a refund. We contacted our bank and we were issued a refund after they found no proof that I had signed up for roadside assistance. I informed Mary at Roadside Plus that I don't own a car nor have a driver's license and I would never have signed up for this. She confirmed my email address and said I had to have signed up for it. I was never told that I had to mail anything in but after reading this, I just might.

i just found 6 unauthorized charges and another jsut tried going thru, thus putting my account in overdraft status and I got charged $33.00 from my bank!!!!
