Ok, National Action Financial Services have made the first initial call today around 8:30 this morning. I have no idea who they're calling about (me or my wife) since the phones in her name. I refuse to talk to this guys from National Action Financial Services at all. I've chased off allied interstate, Merchants and now these goons. I do not have an account number for an alleged debt that they say one of owes. I need to send a C&D letter but no account number. Can I just send this with out the account and use the phone # they called us at. I've seen numerous posts and these are the lowest scumbags. The automated message just said that "You must call 866-529-1899 as it is VERY important to someone named "Gotto or Gotty" Da ha funny. Can someone please advise. Thank you.

They are rude as hell and have all the incorrect information a debt from 1996! WTF! then she says, 'Well I would assume you would want to take of this!" Well BITCH dont make assumptions and dont call my phone anymore!!

I got a call from them and it was automated, when I tried calling back and using my reference code it didn't work. Also, I get a call from just the phone number "1", and a lady leaves her name and says that if I don't call back within 24 hours they will sue me. She never says what she is calling about. Just says my name, her name and the phone number and extension. I'm assuming its NAFS.

I just got a voicemail from someone who called himself Christin Gelbo, from the National Action Financial Services. He described having tried several times to contact us but failed. He spoke of a problem with our taxes "down at the office," and asked us to call a number he give, and, he said "I'm the tax collector." He said it was very important that we get in touch with him.

I was immediately suspicious because he didn't address either of us by name. And of course, our taxes have been paid in full. Interesting to learn that they are scam artists, because that's exactly what I thought it was - some kind of scam. I'm pretty sure it must be a crime to impersonate a tax collector (unless you are one of course) for the purpose of pulling a scam!

I won't respond, obviously, and if they try to contact us again, I'll be contacting the BBB, the FTC and the FCC about it.

I just received a letter from NAFS today. It states I owe Citibank $3372.72. I have NEVER opened a Citibank card in my life! The debt collector was very rude and told me he was very tired of hearing the same thing all the time! I contacted Citibank and they do not I ever opened an account with them??? NEVER! Beware of these frauds!

As for the "so funny" reply. I've been getting calls on my cell phone from this company and I'm NOT "Anita J. Stocksdale", and I do NOT owe Blockbuster $10 in late fees or any other fees.

I would LOVE if they gave me the option to actually tell them they have the wrong person, but the option does not exist. There is no way to talk to an actual person. When I try calling the same 800 number back, guess what? I get the SAME RECORDING asking for "Anita J. Stocksdale".

I went to, looked up the name of the company using the zip code 14221 and company name National Action Financial Services, and filed a complaint.

I CANNOT get over that Blockbuster is using such an unreputable debt collection service. It really makes me angry at THEM. Such a large company with SO MANY people in their database should be able to come up with a more professional way to handle their $10 late fees.

All the debt collectors are fairly tough, and often rude. Sending a C&D letter is a good idea, and I think you might also ask the person on the phone for a personal name and id number. Start asking them questions. They are required to verify debt if you ask. If you ask and they fail, then I suggest you call the credit reporting agencies and get your report. If they're on it, contest it in writing.

I hate when people say "if you didn't let your bills get this far behind you wouldn't have thee problems" Wow two bachelors degrees and you work in debt collections. If people didn't have problems that caused them to not be able to pay their bills and have them go into collections you wouldn't have a job. Not all people in debt just decided one day not to pay their bills anymore. When a company charges off the debt they get to claim a loss so they can't get paid for the debts they claimed a loss on. Collection companies pay like twenty cents on the dollar then add a bunch of crap to jack the bill even higher then harass people and lie to them to scare them into paying them. And there is no collection agency that is a respectful company.

Check out Budd Hibbs website, collection agencies have requirements and make them validate the bill and make sure it is not sol. Then if you want to pay them bargain the amount down otherwise you will give them a nice big profit if you pay in full. Get validation first and proof you owe the bill. If you waited to long and have judgments against you see a chapter 13 or 7 lawyer about what your options are to get rid of the judgments.

This company is an absolute embarassment to the collection industry. finally returned the auto-dial call to see why they're calling me as i have no debt. as expected they're looking for someone i don't know, but gave me attitude when i told them to remove my ph #. Told the rep i didn't like his tone & he informed me that wasn't going to make him help me get my ph # removed from their system, then he hung up. Call back three times to get a supervisor... no luck, but on the 4th call, finally got the rep to confirm my # was removed. Any company giving their debt to these clowns should be ashamed.
