Does anyone know anything about Titan Group?

If you are sure that the debt has reached the statute of limitations and you currently are not obligated to pay on this debt, then send them a cease and desist order.
You should be able to find one on this site or do a search in the search box.
If you have anyother questions please ask.

Send a written cease and desist letter certified return receipt mail.Stay off the phone with them and if they call after receiving this letter,then sue them for violations.

Thanks you guys for replying to my message!! It really helps a lot. I will definitely see what I can do to write a cease and desist letter to make them stop harassing me.
I also have a few more questions. There were a few times that I answered the calls. Someone told me that if you answer the phone call they can re-start the statutes of limitations. Is that true? It doesn't make any sense to me.
Also, if you talk to the collection agency on the phone does that verify the debt?
It would really help me a lot if either of you could answer these questions for me. Thank you :)

Most state sol's require a written agreement with payment or payment alone to renew sol. A debt cannot be validated on the phone,it consists of documentation that collector gets from original creditor.It seems you have been getting played on the phone.Do yourself and your body a great favor and stay off the phone.No good can come of it. Please take the time and at least go to the first website for a copy of the law regarding collections.Once you are familiar with this law,they won't be able to trample your rights anymore.

Believe me, I've definitely learned my lesson about not talking to them on the phone. That's why I don't even answer when they call now. The few times that I did answer was when I first had to start dealing with them about 4 years ago.

Don't know about link problem.I just checked them and it takes me to the correct page on the ftc.gov page. Maybe go to the ftc site and look up the fdcpa &Fcra laws.

Have you checked your latest credit copy if this CA is trying to hit negative item on your file? If so, you have a legal case against them according to the FCRA laws.
This debt is already past the legal reporting time period according to the FCRA laws. Draft a cease and desist letter mentioning the latest status of the account and that you are legally not responsible to pay. If they continue to call after receiving the letter, it will be a violation of the federal laws and you can take necessary legal actions against them. Check your state laws and record their phone calls. Take notes of the date and time and the person you spoke with. This will help in pursuing a class action lawsuit if they don't stop calling you.

Cajunbulldog- Hmmm, I don't know why, but I can't get to the FTC website at all. I'm using Firefox and I also tried Internet Explorer, but it's not letting me go there. I even had my dad try on his computer (he uses IE) and it didn't work either. I guess the site is just temporarily down.

Bridget- Yes, I got my credit report, but it was 5 years ago. It was in September of 2002. I tried to get my credit report a few months ago, but ,for some reason, it wouldn't let me. I don't know why. I'm going to look into getting it though so I can see if this collection agency (Titan Group) has put a negative mark on it.

Im so glad I found this, these people are harassing me as well. They threatened to serve me with papers if I did not pay them by 3pm today. Not only is that unfeasible as I do not have the money, but it is rude and very upsetting. Also when I asked for the address they would not give it to me, which I find sketchy at best.

They are a total scam. I accidentally sent them $220 and I will be lucky if I'll see that money ever again. They used to be called the BAM Group. Now it's the Titian Group. What will it be next ?

kI have gotten calls from them for the last 2 weeks. The bad thing is I have been called by 4 different companies saying if I dont pay them I will be summoned too. The thing is I will pay the bill but need to make sure The company I pay is real. I refuse to pay all 4 companies. What can Happen?

this company is a JOKE! In December of 09 I recieved a call at my parents house from a "debt collector" or something along those lines, so I called them and they told me that I had had a pay day loan a few years back that I never paid and this was before I knew to look into stuff more, so I set up payment arrangements with them, I paid $150 to them even though I still had not received any validation of debt in the mail which I had requested, so I wasn't going to send them the second payment of $150 because why should I? I know I hadn't taken this loan out I just didn't want them calling my family and harrassing them, and I also wanted to pay a bill if I legitimatly had one, and then I never heard anything else from them. Yesterday my brother calls me to tell me someone is calling his house for me about a bad check I wrote (I have NEVER been someone to write bad checks) and that they are going to take me to jail and he is going to have to pay. So I call them even though I looked up the number before hand and see that people are saying it is a scam, so the guy tells me he is with the TITAN GROUP which is notorious for being a scam, its all over the internet, he tells me this is from the stuff a few years back and they only got the one payment and then they have been trying to contact me since then, yet I have recieved no messages, and if you are looking for me that hard why not call my house phone which is NOT unlisted and is registered in my name, so why call my brother instead? he refuses to tell me his name, he refuses to tell me the place they are doing collections for, the only info was that it was originally from a cashnet place, we don't have places by that name here and again, just like last time, I know that this loan was never taken out anyways, he refuses to send me a validation of debt (like I was to recieve a few YEARS ago and is why I never paid the other $150) hes telling me all kinds of stuff like the end of the day they are going to summon me, whatever buddy, I was not born yesterday, you can't be saying things like that. I just don't know what to do to make them stop, I am seeing stuff saying to get a cease and desist letter done by a notary or something, but if the guy can't give me an address or anything how am I to send it? I was trying to get more info out of him but he told me he can't help me anymore and I was taking up too much of his time and then hung up on me. because that is professional!
