Home Depot closed my account due to a payment which was 90 days overdue. I had tried for 3 months to pay this bill online, but was never able to log in on Home Depots web site. The Home Depot account shows up on my credit report as closed "Credit line closed-grantor request-reported by subscriber". OK, the account was paid off in full after the closure, but now my credit report still shows THD/CBSD under "Credit Cards, Loans & Other Debt". I have no idea why this company is listed, although they reflect a $1500 credit limit and give me a rating of OK since December of 2008. What gives??

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
If you have already paid off the account, then you may dispute the account status either with the Home Depot or with your credit bureau. However, as far as I know, even if the closed account is paid off in full, it will still be reported on your credit report. You may send a Goodwill letter to the bank and request them to delete the listing from the credit report. You can get more information on the things to do if THD/CBSD is listed on your credit report from the following pages:

You should send a written request to Home Depot asking them to validate the account. If they can validate the debt, then you should negotiate settlement with them. In case you really don't owe the debt, dispute the account status with the credit bureaus. You can send them the following letter to delete the inaccurate information from your credit report:
