Whats in your weekend?

Well here we are again. Another week has flown by. My co workers are hoping that the phones slow down and they can continue their chatter about the weekend.
So whats in your weekend plan. I am hoping to get out early tomorrow and wade out into the bay, where I live, and catch something for Volleyballmoms thread, "Whats for Dinner." Blackened Redfish would be nice. It is going to be hot as a habenero here again so early is the key.
So my Frog Friday question is: What is everyone doing this weekend? I am jealous of you who live in the North with your foliage at its peak, or close to it, and all those apples and pumpkins.


LOL - you all have given me the chuckles this morning! :lol:

To answer all questions:

-yes, that's what we're calling it these days -"chatting"...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

-is it like watching submarine races? Maybe it bears some similarity. ;-) But the "sub" stayed "docked" in it's own...uh...."dockers"? LOL

-is it like parking? Let me think...yup, we were parked! ;-)

-Date #3 is, sadly, not for another couple of weeks, as I have family obligations all this week and into the weekend. My daughter is coming up for a visit from VA (yay!) - I've only seen her for a few hours (this summer when I dropped the boys off) since June of 2006. My parents' 50th anniversary is this weekend, so we're giving them a party, and my daughter is going to surprise them with her visit. So date #3 won't be for another couple of weeks, probably. :-( But it's all good - we keep in touch by e-mail.

MIL is having a garage sale this weekend, so we are going to help. Jim is taking Friday off to help her set up & put away stuff. Then Saturday both me & him will be there helping.

I'm sad though...for the first time in like 10 years I'm missing "Apple Picking Day" with my best friend & her family. Its a big event. Eat a lot of food & then about 3 or 4 pm go to the apple orchard down the road. Then come back & eat more. I think we'll make it to their house for the after apple events.

We'd go, but Jim's mom's back is hurting her again. October 16th is the anniversary of when she had her disks fixed, but since she's hurting we can't leave her alone with all that junk!

Here's my big weekend:

-daughter (oldest child - 19) is on her way up to visit from VA (I'm in MI). They've stopped for the night at a motel, but have had all sorts of adventures on the way (someone backed out of a parking spot and into their car, and now that they've stopped for the night, the car won't start again). My mom-radar is kicking in big time and I somehow get the feeling I may be getting my oldest child (and her boyfriend) as semi-permanent guests soon...maybe sooner than I think. Not to mention they are only traveling on about $250...I'm thinking they're going to get stranded somewhere, the way this is going.

-Parents' 50th anniversary party is Saturday. The party was supposed to be a surprise, but one of my relatives couldn't keep her mouth shut... :evil: but they DON'T know that my daughter is coming. :twisted: We'll be setting up, attending and tearing down the party all day Saturday.

-It's COLD here....in the 30s tonight they say....and I have yet to turn the furnace on. Been holding off as long as possible and piling extra blankets on the beds. Tried to start the furnace up tonight...nothing. So now I get to figure out what's wrong with that thing.

That's my weekend in a nutshell!

lol lawn...must be the hormones! Wish I was HOT tonight...I'm freezing! I'm about to climb into bed just to stay warm. I might just make a cup of hot cocoa to take with me so I can read and sip. :-)

I'm excited that my daughter's visiting, but a little worried about her staying....I don't have room for them in this house (only 2 bedrooms and both bedrooms are already full!), and they don't have jobs up here, and all of their "stuff" is back in VA...so I really hope that's not their plan. I guess I'll see when she gets here tomorrow...if they make it!

She's definitely not a planner like I am...she kinda flies by the seat of her pants...which drives me nuts.

Sue...I got 2 fans on right now pointed at me-the overhead fan & the floor fan!!! I'd open the patio, but we have some weird people roaming about at nite and on Thursdays-Sunday they drink a lot. Don't want to wake up with a guest in the apartment!!

Oh man!!! I hear ya about the room. Moving really does take planning.

I just thought I would fill you in on my weekend and it is only Saturday. I was supposed to go trail rididng on dirtbikes today..decided this morning I did not want to go..So hubby, my BIL and youngest loaded up and went. I was soooo happy to have the day to myself and went to run errands. About an hour into errands I get a phone call...what are you doing...(it was mu biggest child...I mean hubby) I am checking out at wal mart...I could tell by his tone i needed to as ...what happened...I drove an hour and a half to pick him up to take him to the hospital...he broke his ankle...so finally at 5:30 tonight..we got home..this started at 11:00am. Fun Fun FUn....and he says...well I never borke anything before now and atleast it was not the youngest. :cry: So now I get to spend the rest of my weekend waiting on him becuase he has to stay off his foot. Oh well atleast I will get my exercise.

Roxy sorry to hear about your hubby! Hope he will be ok!

The anniversary party went off without a hitch, was a great party. Lots of family and friends made it in for the party, so it was nice to see all of them.

Daughter & her boyfriend made it in yesterday, looks like they will be going back to VA and then coming back in a few weeks to move in with me, so rather than looking for an apartment or average size house, I'm going to need to find something larger. Just found out tonight their car won't start, though...so we're working on that.

On top of that, my furnace won't start, so it's COLD in here! Hoping to have that looked at too.

Glad the party was great! Were they surprised to see your daughter?

You were right-they are moving up here. A mother knows.

I agree Sue! Its SOOOOO cold out tonite! The apartment isn't super cold, but its not super warm. Not ready to break out the heater yet...

Thank you all, the hubby will be ok. We are going Monday to an ortho for consultation. He works on his feet so he will be out of work for awhile. The whole thing is kinda funny... He is such a he man so I love the fact that he is discovering his humanity.

Sue...I am so happy the party went well for you and Ihope the car and heater thing are fixed without a hitch.

I'm glad the party and garage sale went well!! Roxy..hope your husband is up and moving soon!!

I've been battling a health thing too for awhile now...have to go for another biopsy on Monday. Started my last week of vacation today...and I woke up with a awful cold...sore throat, headache, cough,etc. So I am staying in and being a baby all weekend!!!
