Payday loan is my worst nightmare. If I only have the power the vanish all of them, I'll do it.
I've been out off work because of disability for 3 months. To cover all my bills, I resorted to getting a loan. Started from1, then 2 & so on & so forth. Until I can no longer pay any of my real bills bec. all my money are going to pdl interest. Now my house is for foreclosure, car company is harrasing me because I'm 2 months behind and I don't have the $$ to pay for my pdl interest anymore. It's funny bec. I have a good record w/ all the pdl companies but have derogatory record w/ my home lender & car financing company. I am looking for a company that can help me consolidate my pdl. I've heard so much about T&C, got their number from one of the member but I've been trying since last week but I can't get through. I really wanted to ask for their help but, this kind of things worry me. Non working number for 2 weeks now, make me think again if I should ask for their help.
Anyway, I tried to talk to some of my storefront pdl and made payment arrangements. Check City is kind of compassionate w/ my situation. They gave me a payment plan of $100/mo, but when I asked for how long and how much would be the total, the lady that I spoke with said make a payment for 3 months then she'll let me know. My total loan w/ them is $600 and that's including the interest.
Any advice on how to make a payment arrangement. And any advice on how to deal w/ collection company that keeps on calling me at work.Should I keep retruning their call, or ignore them. I already told them before to give me atleast until the end of the month but they want me to give them my account number, I said no . Please, please advise.

Hi chicagobabe

Don't be bothered by the word mail striplashes. :) Two words got combined together. Striplashes comes by default when a url tag is not closed properly. (website stuff) :)

If you are able to make payment arrangements directly with the lenders, you can refuse to deal with the collection agency. Tell the lender and they will pull your file back from the CA. Besides, if they still contact you, send a cease and desist letter to the CA's mailing address and stop them legally from contacting you. The consequences of defaulting on payday loans are fatal. Everyone here is learning from their mistakes and making promises not to take any such loans again. I hope you also have learnt your lesson the hard way. Get in touch with your consultant and see what he has to offer you on the table.

I've been watching this forum for a couple of months now. I've read so many testimonials that they were able to solved their pdl nightmares by signing up w/ pdl consolidation company and doing debt counseling. I've done the same thing but until today I can't see any light and I don't feel any better other than I'm not alone in this worst situation. I've called different companies but I'm still getting the same answer. My problem w/ pdl is way beyond and it can't be consolidated and can't be arranged. Am i doing the wrong thing because some people are getting the right answers and I'm not. I finally spoke to my consultant but get the same answer. She advise me to consider bankruptcy. With 13 pdl, the only option I can do is to offer them atleast half of what I owe them. And that's what I dont't have right now. I have to secure my house payment first, then pay my car payments, by doing that would leave me to 0 bal. I don't know, I'm confuse and so desperate of help.

Hi Chciagobabe0725.
I'm sorry to hear your troubles. Sometimes debt consolidation isn't the right option for every one, unfortunately many don't figure this out until its too late. You say you have 13 PDL's? I must assume these are all (or at least 11) are Internet lenders (as under Illinois state law, you cannot have more than 2 loans out at a time, and those must be through licensed lenders. Yes. Payday Lenders who lend in the state of Illinois are required to be licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

I am also in the Chicago area and am happy to help if I can. Can you please share with us more information on what you have done so far with these PDL's? There are several members of the community who have had success in getting PDL's to mark accounts as paid and in some cases get refunds if they have paid in excess of what state laws allow.

Here are several links to various Illinois State websites which may be of interest to you in going forward:
