I have approx 35,000 in debts. I'm not behind in any payments but I'm struggling. I would like to make monthly payments of around $300.00 for up to 10 years. How do I do this?

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
What is your monthly payment right now? It is true that debt consolidation will help in lowering your monthly payments but you'll have to pay interests on the consolidation loan. If you enroll in a consolidation program, you'll have to pay fees to the consolidation company. So, I would suggest you to find out ways and increase your income. You can use the extra money to make the monthly payments. You can even negotiate with your creditors on your own. Make an attempt at least. Who knows, your creditor may agree to lower the interest rates on the loans since you have been a responsible borrower till now. Make a strict budget and stick to it. If you still can't afford to make payments, then you can also enroll into a debt management program to lower your monthly payments.
