I received a call a little while ago from an "Investigator Stevens (?)" of this bank. He did not identify the company he was calling from but the call came into my home and my cell from a 214#. I let the call go to voicemail and he left a message with an 800#. Out of curiosity I called the 214# and it was some kids cell phone in god knows what state. He said he's been getting all kinds of weird calls. I called back the 800# and left a message that I was returning a call.
So my question I guess is, has anyone else experienced this? Is this CA calling and routing the caller ID through other peoples phone numbers? Can they do that?
And who else does this CA represent because I can't think of who they would be at this point?

I was sent a bill from Metro Style which WFNNB is the payer to for this company and my bill reflects an interest rate of 105.9070% I have started a class action suit against the bank and Metro Style if anyone is intereted in joining the class action suit with me just contact me via e-mail and I will give the information to my attorney. My e-mail is . I asked the company to go to arbitration and they offered me $10.00 to settle the matter and I refused Metro Style now says I never had an account with them yet WFNNB Bank says they had an account with me but closed it last June for non-activity but they took a check from a finance company when I consolidated all my bills for $406.00 in September, this was illegal and did anyone know they charge you the interest rate plus one dollar everytime they send you a statement of what you owe them, you become slaves to them for the rest of your life's and people tell you the amount of money you owe them is to petty to sue them when I know it is the principal in the matter and this bank needs to be shut down, no wonder the economy is the way it is and people are loosing their homes and filing for bankruptcy left and right.

I just wantr to give a coment about your company.
I had a victoria secert credit card with you peoplefor a long time;. So I decide to close the acount all in good standing.
I had backrupancy from a long time time ago.. It never affected my acountwith you people. I close my account with you people in good standing and try to re open the account and I get a letter no we cannot reopen your acount be cause of bankruptucy???? That was a very long time ago. I had an acount with you people jurin g that time of bankruptucy. Myh acount was always in good standing. I wanted to re open the acount and you refuse me because of bankruptucy from a while ago???
I close the account because I wanted to, not because of "bankruptucy"" and I wanted to open it again but you sy no because of bankruptucy even though I had the account juring bankruptucy within goodstanding. I am very angry with this decision and I thinking I would never want another acount with you people ever again because I think that this is all so wrong. I wonder how nmany other people feel the same way that I do? I mean I have an account with you people , in good standing I had bankruptcy in the past yo were not bothered by that ,I close the account then try to reopen and yoy say no becauce of bankrupcy it did not bother you when I had the account but since I closed yhe account and tryed to reoprn I get a negitive response.
that is totally wrong and I would never consider an account with you people ever again and I will make sure people will hear my dispute.

good day C. M.

I have a WFNNB account through Pottery Barn. No problems with them ever. Also I have spent thousands at PB over the years. But I was diagnosed with cancer and my ^&%* insurance says it is a *preexisting condition* which means I will now likely have to file BK. The problem I have with WFNNB is that I can't figure out which address to use to offer a settlement in advance of the BK. There is one paragraph in the bill that says "Payments marked PAID IN FULL on disputed debts"- it looks pretty similar to what I want, but their docs could be a little clearer. The problem I have is that because WFNNB has given me a 1 year interest free grace period on my last PB purchase, they don't KNOW that I am defaulting. I have to tell them, hope they respond.

I am being bombarded with telephone calls from the credit dept. every day. Sometimes twice a day. I cannot pay anything at this time due to my being laid off my job. (no income). I am currently looking for another job, and will pay when I can. What can I do to get them off my back?????

I just received an e-mail stating that I owe for a $26.94 item from 11/29/09! In addition, I now owe 2 late fees of $25 each! I signed up for paperless statements eons ago and ALWAYS paid my account in full before it was due. Apparently, I forgot about this charge BUT NEVER received a paperless statement! NOW all of a sudden I receive an e-mail stating it is overdue!!?? I have called WFNNB a couple of times to explain. The first time she refused to give me her first name to record who I spoke with and the second time the supervisor hung up on me! UNBELIEVABLE! I will NEVER charge another item for any store that does business through this bank! I called Newport News and they said that I must deal with the bank...they could not help me! HELLO>>>>don't they contract with them to handle the payments??? If they are treating THEIR customers this bad shouldn't Newport News be concerned???? Give me strength! And our country wonders WHY the economy is in the toilet!

you cant file bankruptcy and expect a line of credit!!! you have already proved your not going to pay, so why would anybody extend credit to you? It's hard to believe you would even think you could get another credit card. How about try this, PAY YOUR BILL!!!!!!

I don't understand why so many of you are having trouble with WFNNB credit cards. It's pretty straightforward. You pay your minimum payment each month before the due date, and that's it. WFNNB is a great bank because they offer student cards to people with NO credit history and give them a chance. I got a card from them from Express when I had no credit and everyone else was denying me, but WFNNB gracefully gave me the card and I now have great credit with a score of 692. Thank you World Financial Network National Bank! :)

Company just began charging $1.00 to send a paper bill. I figure this legal, just as is their 24.99% interest charge. I find it insulting and nothing but a greedy grab. Can one put a stop to it? What if we refuse to pay?

I cannot give them a favorable rating. We have a clean credit record. However, they feel compelled to impose a 24.99% finance charge. They are now charging to receive a paper bill. Go figure. I recommend that multiple payments be made at $1.50 or something similar. They are surely processed electronically but they have to pay a fee for that. If you use electronic banking, there is not cost to issue the payments.

We had a similar problem. We didn't receive an electronic statement but the paper statement had been cut off. They tried to charge late fees and, quite frankly, could not have cared less about the problem, much less apologize for their mistake. Go figure.

I was informed last week that Brownstone is listed on my credit report from last year that I had a late charge and that I should request it be taken off. I knew nothing about this. I was in a car accident in December and was off for 7 weeks, that last four in which I had no income as I had been placed on leave of absence. I am playing catch up now and want late charges removed. How do I do this?

Hello, I have a qustion?. I am military, last July I purchased a dress from LewMagram. I did not like it so I returned it within 3 weeks. No bill at the time. I leave and am not at old adress nor number. I assumed no bill because I returned the dress within 3 weeks of receiving it. I get a call at my parents house this past 31 March 2010. I called and I am told that even though, I returned it, they have no priif that I did and that it is too late to do anything. I have to pay the full amount. I don't mind paying for dress, even though I returned it, but the fee's are 4 times the amount of item. what is my next option. Help is appreciated.

Hey, I just found these guys on my credit report that I'm working so hard on.
They've dinged by credit, simply by checking it. They've done this without
our permission, and we've never even heard of them, so frankly this is a little
scary. I don't know if this is some fraudulent thing or not....
if you know of anything, I'm interested. From what I just read from you thread,
it sounds like I might have reason to find out what's going on...
Thanks
I received an automated phone call today. My caller ID said unknown name and unknown # so at the time, I didn't answer. However, a message was left with the phone # 1-800-579-5457. The message stated this was regarding personal information, not a sales call. When returning the call, the automated answer asked me for my account # but that if I didn't have the account #, to enter my SS#. First of all, I do not have an account with wfnnb and was in no way going to enter my SS#. Is this some sort of scam?
I had someone steal and use my social, and the first thing I was told when I filed a police report is no one should ever ask you for your full social security over the phone. They may ask you for the last four digits for verification, but even then, if you are not comfortable with that you can do other verification methods.

I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They are the bank for The Company Store, an online mail-order business. They claimed they sent me electronic invoicies (I didn't), and a myriad of other lies after my account went into collections because their bank would not accept my Chase electronic payment. It's a long story, but the bottom line is that I was trying to send them money, not refusing to pay, and the ineptitude and downright stupidity of their incompetant customer service people caused my credit rating to be damaged. I sent them $150 as opposed to a $14 minimum, then no invoices for two months, so I figured it was because I sent so much money the first time, then I get a call saying my account is 60 days past due. I asked why didn't you call me to let me know 30 days ago? Where are my invoices? No answer. I'm on the verge of a class-action lawsuit against these people.

Report them to the Better Business Bureau like I did. They are a poorly-run and from what I gather, shady operation that harasses people and provides crap customer service. Here is their email address: info@columbus-ohbbb.org I strongly urge anyone who has had a problem with this bank to write to the BBB and complain like I did. They filed my complaint and I'm waiting to hear back. I'll keep you posted.

Same thing happened to me. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They are thieves. I think we should file a class-action law suit against them. And I'm not kidding.

I just looked up the World Financial Network National Bank's rating by the Better Business Bureau, with whom I filed a complaint. Here is their rating for this bank, and this is taken directly from their website: Based on BBB files, World Financial Capital Bank has a BBB Rating of A+ on a scale from A+ to F. That explains a lot. I can see how far my complaint is going to get me. I swear to God I'm ready to sue.

So get this. I have not had a bill since I paid off my account in January. But heres the thing, SOMEHOW, I was signed up for some kind of third party service which was charged in March. No-one can tell me how this charge got on my account. The bank refuses to do a fraud investigation because they have an agreement with this service that they will not question their charges ON ANYONES ACCOUNT. So, this third party can charge ANYONE without the company filing fraud against them. How convenient is that. Then, because I know I have not charged anything on the account, I have not been looking for any ebill from them. I get 60-100 emails /day so unless I'm looking some things are immediately deleted. So. I don't see a bill for Three months. Now I have three months of Late payment fees on a charge I did not authorize!!!!. The bank refuses to do anything about it saying its not their fault. The third party payer won't do anything because they already got their money.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD.

This is the regulations, If your account has been noted as an uncollectable account in the
state of NC, then no offer can be made by the collection company. What ever the person who owns the account offers is what they have to accept as offer in full. The account has to be marked settlement offer and zero balance owed on your credit report, New federal law for NC residents. Also, if the account is not reported after two years and reinstated on your report, by the same term of the law the account has to be deleted if it is also an uncollectable account....
Really... All people have to do is pay their bills. Simple. They are following all Federal Laws given, it is not their fault that you cannot stay current.

I have had to send my payments in by certified mail for years to this company. I was sending payments 20 days in advance and they were still saying it was late. I had checks that cleared my account before my due date, and they said it was because it took that long to process on their end, but I get a late fee. I asked for them to draft automatic payments from my bank, but they do not do this. Really? Who doesn't do that? They have no website on which to make payments. It is 2010! They make their money off late payment fees and ridiculous interest rates.

I work for the company and honestly, no one has any idea the stuff we take on the back end, it's not "ripping" you off with a 24.99% interest, you get the information BEFORE you sign up for the cards, if not ASK!, you don't HAVE to get a credit card, period. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has been sent out a Change in Terms which not something WE controll it's a decision based on both parties, being WFNNB and the client, ie. Pottery Barn. Again, you don't HAVE to open a credit line. You bought the items, pay them off, or pay in cash to begin with... as far as taking payments they weren't okay'd by the account holder themselves should be addressed immediantly, you can always find out who did it and trust me, it's handled. every call is recorded, every call is checked. I know this, again, I work there. And with the whole 1$ fee, that's not something WFNNB did, thank the government and the Faircredit act that was passed in Febuary of 2010.

If you only knew... I take a lot of bs from people who are angry at the world for who knows what, and blames everyone for their money issues, if you listened, there are things we can and will do to help.. We are there for collections and we're some of the most hated people out there but it's a job and we have to do it.

Thanks =D

This company has stolen about $2200 from me. They have an account number from which they draw different amounts from in my bank account. They screwed with the wrong person this time. My son is in the mafia and will take good care of them.

I am receiving calls from WFNN collectors saying I have not made a payment to Bealls since March. I made an online payment July 6th. Their email states it will post on the 30th. I don't know why. I have called customer service and she is just as rude and will not look for or listen to me. I am going to send their thank you email to them. This is thanking me for my payment. I also want to email WFNN and send this to them. I am angry. They will not take my name off. I am a good paying customer but I intend to take the scissors to their card and never visit them again.

I need to verify some information I left out: One of the collectors told me that leaving 3 dollars from a 40 payment constitutes a late payment. The other one reminded me of a purchase I made in May. I am making my payments. I intend to pay them off. My charges are not high. I will be able to do this and get them out of my hair. They are using different numbers when they call. The Thank you email states that my payment will not post until the 30th when I sent it on the 6th. Why? Anyway, the CS person is telling me they did not receive it.

I have been harassed by them on a daily basis by phone, even thought my account has NO ISSURES whatsoever. No late payments, nothing. And when they call and I remind them that I have spoken to them several times THAT DAY, they always say the calls will stop. THEY NEVER DO! The person I just spoke to, named DARRYL, even called me a "motherfucker." Sorry to offend anyone.
I hate WFNNB. With a passion.
Does anyone know of anywhere I can contact to get these calls to stop???????

This morning at 8:00 a.m. (on a SATURDAY!) I saw a missed call on the caller i.d. I called back to WFNNB where a rep insisted that I had an account with them. She would not put me through to a supervisor until I confirmed the last 4 of my SSN. I refused. She said, "OK, it's your credit that's in trouble. I'll make a note for your credit record that you refused to confirm this information." Sheesh! I hung up and fortunately found this site. Thanks for the info.

They've been calling me for weeks looking for "Sandra." When I tell them that I am not Sandra, nor do I know a Sandra, they hang up on me. When I try and call them, their system automatically looks up my phone number and asks me to verify the last 4 digits of my SS# -- which, naturally, the system then doesn't accept because they're looking for Sandra's SS#. I have no idea who "Sandra" is, and I do not now nor have I ever had a credit account with any of the companies they appear to service.
Anybody have any idea how to get an actual human on the line when calling them? Their system rejects me because of the SS# issue.

I know what you mean. I have been working on trying to clean up my credit and offered to work out a settlement plan and they refused. It is unbelievable. They call me morning, noon and night about payments even before they are due. I am atleast paying some thing. I may not be able to pay the entire amount right now, but even when they get money, they still harrass you all day long.

I changed my cell phone number and they still got it from some where and now they call me on it all the time which costs me money.

WFNNB should be forced out of business. They claim I opened up an account (I have no record of it nor will they send me any evidence such as a signed application) but have yet to send me a bill. When I FINALLY got a hold of someone in customer service (no easy feat as many of you know since the phone numbers go into "unavailable to leave a message because mail box is full" recordings), they tell me that they mailed the bill to an old address and must regenerate it. I ask them to fax or e-mail it to me, but they "can't do that". They tell me is is my fault that THEY sent it to a wrong address. I didnt even open up the card! I never received a credit card nor a bill in the mail at my current address! But I am supposed to magically know I have a bill I never incurred myself and send payment without knowing my account number???? The only reason I even found out about this is because I work at a finance company and we have our credit reports pulled. WFNNB is a FRADULENT and UNSCRUPULOUS orgnaization. I am filing criminal charges against them today, but at this point I am sure there is not much I can do....EXCEPT WARN EVERYONE to double check your credit report and BEWARE of any charges related to WFNNB.

I do not remember applying for a CREDIT CARD when making a purchase of TWO belts. I left for vacation on 8/15 and just returned on 9/10 with an overdue bill. I pay ALL my bills on time ,as I am going for an equity loan and I see them THREE times on my credit report!.I really do not remember applying for a credit card and would never do it, cause I have too much debt as it is....and I don't know WHY they gave it to me..this is really screwed up...now they are asking for a late fee of $29 PLUS $10 to pay it..I only OWED 64 bucks for TWO belts..this is now turning into 2 belts that will cost e 50 bucks each!...and I know how hard it is to rectify THIS once they got me..I just want this off my credit report and I will pay ANYTHING to get rid of them..
OY!!!

Thanks

People who claim they were scammed are, for lack of a better word, stupid. WFNNB's internal collections department is ran off an automated dialing system that, depending on the time of day calls specific numbers, whether its a home, business or cell phone. Federal law currently does not set a limit of the number of times a call can be placed to someone who has an account past due. The dialer uses out-going numbers only from specific states that the calls are generated. Numbers are provided on the statement for collections, the indivual client's customer service(Express, The Limited Victoria's Secret etc.) as well as the payment and customer service mailing address.
While on the topic of statments, a lot of people think WFNNB scam them by sending them late or not at all. This is not the case. Statements are sent every month when the account bills, just like every credit card company. However, and this is imortant, so read carefully! WFNNB does NOT, again, WFNNB does NOT send statements. Statements are sent by the client themselves, ie., Express and Victoria's Secret. Also, the paticular clients are not the postal service, they have no control of the mail. You as an account holder are responsible for payments every month whether a statement is received as you are aware of holding a balance with the card. See your credit card agreement you are supposed to read before accepting.
Now onto the subject of late fee's. Late fee's, as with every credit card company, well ever, are assessed whenever a payment is missed. Once again see your credit card agreement YOU signed. Niether WFNNB or the client is under no obligation to waive or credit any late fee's. Only under special circumstances, for example return mail on the account. Now of course if there is a mistake on behalf of either company then LFs are credited back. Now onto e-statements. No one at either WFNNB or the client just randomly decides to sign an account holder up on web statements. Account holders have a habit of setting up an online account and select to receive e-statements without realizing it. Then they like to blame it on the company for some reason. Now ask yourself, does that sound right?
Moving on. Third Parties. Third parties are companies client's allow to solicit business to their account holders. 90 percent of the time account holders agree to the solicitation with out reading what they are agreeing to (sound familiar statement complainers?) The matter should be taken up with the individual third party and not WFNNB or the client as the third party will notify both companies and then they will clear any fees depending on the siutation.
There is a lot more information that I can give and I will be returning from time to time to answer any questions and misconceptions people have regarding WFNNB.
I work for the company and honestly, no one has any idea the stuff we take on the back end, it's not "ripping" you off with a 24.99% interest, you get the information BEFORE you sign up for the cards, if not ASK!, you don't HAVE to get a credit card, period. After a six month study, the following questionable practices were uncovered. Posting of electronic payments from a customer's bank account to WFNNB can take up to 7 days after the payment has been deducted from the customer's bank account. During this time the credit limit on the customer is not increased therefore increasing the possibility of an "over-draft" situation. Customers are encouraged to make payments over the phone. The fee for this service is $10.

I received a notice from World Financial Network National Bank. Not recognizing this bank name I called the number on the notice which immediately prompted me to enter my Social Security number and Zip Code (BIG RED FLAG). I immediately looked the the web for more answer on this. Upon closer inspection of the notice is does mention an "Express Card" which I beleive is for the Express clothing stores that are typically found in shopping malls. I'll be cancelling my Express card immediately.

Is it normal practice to call and threaten someone with a stage 4 cancer, who makes less than $0/yearly... who is trying to fight the liver cancer to stay alive with several rounds of chemo to be a mother to her almost 8 year old son?
What is the normal practice of collections? I am a contact for my sister in law, my number is where she should be receiving calls.
I'm sorry but Mr. Simmons x4619 doesn't know what "hours vs weeks" mean to a cancer patient. He told me and rightly he should he can not talk w/me. I only asked him the phone number & his name to speak w/my brother... (it's only his wife's acct). He then asked me if she's got a lawyer.. I told him only if they can prove malpractice for her diagnosis... but he of course meant bankruptcy. I don't know what delinquency she is in currently because a foundation was going to be formed to assist them. My brother's income yearly is $25-28k, they reside in NYC area burroughs...

Tell me enlighten me on how there is NO compassion in collections. Instead of YELLING as he did to me... he should have gave a little compassion.

My brother called him back... the first thing he asked for was her ssn. ID THEFT... and googling wfnb looks pretty bad. There are other ways of getting an account pulled up... by verifying her name... you don't need the full ssn...

Laws for profanity (he just said he didn't care) but if profanity was used... youd better believe I'd be calling back.

There should be a holding period, and better training for these calls. I made calls... I worked payment plans... don't they know it's better to get a little vs nothing... she already knows her credit has been damaged by this illness... what else? A cancer/or any patient needs to have a special payment plan or unit to deal with them. If I had said she passed.. I know I'd have to produce the death certificate... but isnt stage 4 a death sentence?
