Could someone PLEASE tell me what this company is zapping from our accounts under? I am looking for the name used when processing ACH debits and credits. It is OBVIOUSLY not Platinum, and since I too am in the process of filing my report with the Florida State Attorney's office regarding Ellis Crosby, I need to know what name I'm looking for on my statement so I can show the original loan and all payments. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

Ace:

You appear to be a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.

I recommend that you avail yourself of the free legal assistance your local Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (for you Army, Air Force and Marine personnel) or Naval Legal Service Office (for you Navy personnel) and discuss this matter.

The JAG officer (an attorney) can do some research and then write both Plantinum B and their agent, which appears to be Accounts Receivable Management, Inc. which purportedly also uses the name Accounts Receivable Techonologies and First Credit Services.

My wife, who has no bad debt, was called by this company numerous times. I have turned them over to the Texas Office of the Attorney General.

You may also want to file a complaint with the Attorney General in the state in which you reside and with the Federal Trade Commission.

Very Respectfully,

Retired Navy JAG Legal Assistant

They screwed me royally!! My account was hacked into and I could not find any contact number for them to work out a payment schedule. Then they started legal proceedings for grand larceny and 2 misdemeanor counts of fraud and intent to fraud.........SO I had to pay up 800 dollars on a 300 dollar loan so I wouldn't have to go to court with them. They are AWFUL and please tell your friends and family never to work with them.

Morgan I would contact the AG in my state. Also check the secretary of states website to see if they are licensed in your state. These payday companies will threaten everything. They are predators that are just blowing smoke. They are the ILLEGAL ones. KYSIDE38

I took out a loan with Platinum B Services in March 2005 for $200. They charged me, I think, $60 interest every two weeks if I couldn't pay off the loan. About 6 months ago, I closed my checking account so they couldn't zap me anymore. Now they are pursuing me relentlessly! They sold me to a company called Westbury Ventures. They are terrible! Emailing me 5 or 6 times per day! I've been ignoring them. But I'm not sure if I should continue to ignore them. Payday loans are illegal in my state, North Carolina. I don't know if that would help me or not. I know I've paid over $700 for this $200 loan and they still stay I owe them $200. What should I do?

Hi,

I had applied for a payday loan through the internet from a company that was not Platinum B and was denied. The next day I get a phone call from Summer at Platinum B saying I've been approved for $200. Hmmm, I think that's odd; no paperwork, no email with written terms. But hey, I'm a smart girl who is terribly dumb with money so I just let it go. The $200 is in my account the next day.

Then, my bank alerts me to fraudelent activity. Someone has used my info online to buy a prepaid credit card. My bank suggests that it is linked with the payday loan. I close my checking account and open a new one. I call Summer and Dustin at PB MULTIPLE times and leave them messages saying I would love to give you my new bank info. This is before my first payment is even due! No response. Finally I get a real human on the phone saying "no problem, fax us your new info, address it to Dustin and you'll be fine."

I fax it, and leave him a message saying please, please get back to me. Nothing. I leave 2 more messages. Then yesterday I have our lovely friends at Bass & Associates harrassing me at work. What a joke. I know I haven't done anything wrong, except indulge my own stupidity for taking the loan in the first place.

I chatted with Kathryn at Bass and told her I was checking her company out with Better Business Bureau. I mentioned my attorney would be contacting her. She said have him call before 3 or else! And then she hung up on me.

yup. That's my tale; I hope it ends soon.

Wow I had no idea how bad this company really was!! I got a $300 cash advance with a $90 service fee every two weeks!!! This has been going on now for over a year. I've had no idea how to contact this company to get this debit cleared and have been afraid to stop payment. I happened upon this page and am very thankful! I called and left Dustin a message and am keeping my fingers crossed that he'll call me back. My advice to people is DO NOT get caught up in the cash advance hole and try to find other solution if possible!

I'm so sorry, the same thing happened to me but I just caught it after only 5 payments of 60$ were taken out of my account and I did NOT authorize this loan they deposited 200$ in my account without my final authorization I called my bank this morning and their investigating it and put stop payments on the 5 transactions. Guess this was a hard lesson to learn I'm never putting my acct info or even go near one of those stupid sites again. Those of us who apply for these high interest loans are already in financial distress and they only make it worse I say anyone who reads this start a petition to sign "We will only apply at upstanding legitamate financial establishments when in need" Being turned down or told no is still alot better than finding out 6months to a year down the road someone is taking your hard earned money right from under your nose.

I had a loan with Cash Today. I authorized them to take $290.00 out of my account on the 25th of may and an ACH was debited in that amount on that specific date but not listed under Cash Today. Could they be using different names to scam me. My bank is investigating this matter right now.

SJM Marketing has a mailing address in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. The best thing to do is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Great Kansas City at 816-421-7800. Platinum B Services is commiting several acts of fraudulent business practices. I suggest people initiate small claims in their respective jurisidictions. There is a minimal cost to do this and will result in court orders against SJM Marketing.

I received 2 calls from this number. Knowing it was another number going with the 904 numbers, i let it go to my vm. The message was nicer than the other numbers, but he ended the message with "May God help you". Yes I owe the debt, however, being threatened with the police coming to my work or home, and calling my office manager and threatening I will lose my job is illegal, and against Federal Trade commission laws. The state attorneys offices of Florida and New Jersey want to hear from those who are receiving these types of calls. They are guessing the calls are coming from out of the country which can loop hole US laws. Tell them you are in contact with an attorney and the US attorneys offices in those states as well as your own, request documents of what you "owe" and where to send the money, and address NOT a money gram or Western Union address. They HAVE to follow State laws. My bank also closed my account because this company kept hitting my acct and cost me over 300 in NSf fees. They do not call you nor do they contact via email like they claim. The bad side of all this is yes they can prosecute because the Federal laws govern internet loans. But, they are NOT going to come to your home or work and take you away.

What do you do when they threaten to turn you in for internet fraud? I want to pay the balance back but I borrowed $350 in August and they've taken $105/bi-weekly since then. The "fraud investigator Mr Converse" said I owe $770!! help!

I spoke to an attorney regarding calls being made. The company does not follow the guidelines set by the federal trade commission. The original company has to sue the individual. No mail has been received stating about money being owed. This happened to me back in 2006 also, I filed a complaint w/the Federal Trade commission and also the State Attorney General in Florida. This company I believe is from Georgia, they won't give out their address.
This is very nerve racking, but who today wants to give out payment information over the phone. I didn't. Today I filed another complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. All I have is a phone number and a name Kathleen Kerr.
File complaints. Maybe this will help

I am furious with the employees at Platinum b or whoever they claim to be because they keep getting on here talking about call them but they wont give out any addresses. I have been scammed by them for 9 months. they have gotten $900 out of my account and I have been charged $200 in bank fees for a $200 loan they gave me. They are big rip offs and I have the BBB taking over my case. I will get justice. I also contacted every news station in MD. I hope everyone gets justification.
