Could someone PLEASE tell me what this company is zapping from our accounts under? I am looking for the name used when processing ACH debits and credits. It is OBVIOUSLY not Platinum, and since I too am in the process of filing my report with the Florida State Attorney's office regarding Ellis Crosby, I need to know what name I'm looking for on my statement so I can show the original loan and all payments. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

I personally have had GREAT experiences with Platinum B Services and EPay Day. Maybe if people would listen to the terms that they go over when they call or maybe even read the terms themselves when they apply there would be less confusion.

P.S. BEN IS AWESOME!!!

Everyone in this forum makes my head hurt. The contracts that you enter into are all there for you to read before you act. The companies must contact you before you recieve any money from them. Everytime that you apply with SJM or E-Payday you receive a copy of your loan agreement in your e-mail. I know because I've done it myself. All of this crap that I'm reading about SJM screwing people, the only reason that you have 500 dollars withdrawn from your account for a 200 dollar loan is because you let them. If I could do that, I would as well. They have so many customers that they can't possibly track everyone everytime. Seriously, stop trying to find a way out of your debt without paying it off, that is the only way. Like I said I have used SJM and E-Payday and have never had a problem because I took care of my loan quickly. I bet that most people that have something bad about any payday loan company have about five or more loans out at any given time. All I can say is YOUR FAULT, all those complaining people just saw that they were receiving 300 dollars tommorrow and that's as far as they took it. They didn't read the paperwork and are now upset because the company is doing exactly what they explained in their contract. take some time and read the paperwork before you say yes. Also, Handle your damn business. Don't get in over your head. One more thing, the contact numbers for SJM are PHONE - 866-722-2770, and FAX - 866-599-5161. Thank you, that is all.

The numbers you gave me I called. They said that they represent you all. They refused to cooperate for much of the information I requested. What they say I owe and what the contract states are two different dollar amounts.

So here's the thing. Do you or don't you retain this account? If you do not, then I would simply ask where in the contract that you sent me does it state that you have the right to sell my account or reassign it to someone else? This contract doesn't say anything about a third party reassignment, nor does it say that you have the right to tell me that you can't help me in resolving the matter.

I am in no way admitting that I even signed this, nor can the documents help in this regard. Anyone can type my name.

I do not owe you all anything. You have collected $720 from me and I suggest you drop this. I'm counting this up to my stupidity in not seeing it sooner. But I am running out of patience. Please exert whatever power you have over this situation and bring it to a close. We both know this is underhanded and sly. Okay, so you got one over on me. But it needs to end here.

Sincerely,

Kevin

I've done some research on this matter, and it seems to me that BMF is right. I've had a few friends that have gotten loans through this company, that's why I originallay showed up, to see what else I can find out about it. In the process of the investigation, I did find the follwing on the website that people apply on: Here's what they do with the information given to them: share your information with trusted THIRD PARTIES such as credit bureaus and or other financial services providers,
for marketing products and services which we determine, in our sole judgment, that you might find of interest. They reserve the right to share, rent, sell, or otherwise disclose data we collect to third parties. Any third party they share, rent, SELL, or otherwise disclose data to will be carefully prescreened by us, determined by us to be reputable, and will use the personal data for marketing products and services which we determine, in our sole judgment, that you might find of interest. Kevin, I capitalized a few words for you to help you better understand your loan. I have found nothing that suggests these people are doing anything illegal. Sleazy, well, that's your opinion. Seems like this company has helped quite a few, and if you asked these few, I bet they read the contract and understood what they were getting into. And Kevin, I realize that anyone can type your name, hell I just did, but how many people have access to your computer? They actually track that. So, in this case, yes, you did signed it. Electronically. I'm sure it holds up in court, or they wouldn't be in business. They even give you a day to cancel the loan. I know I would never get a loan through this company because of the high interest rate, but they're just trying to keep they're businees going. From my point of view, I can't see where they're doing anything illegal. Bottom line, as you should already know, READ THE CONTRACT!! If you don't understand it, don't go through with it. And yes, I've read the contract, and it's all there. What they'll withdraw and on what dates. And that......, is my final answer.

Platinum B is associated with SJM Marketing
If you take a $300 loan, the payoff is $390 unless the payment for the $90 bounces, then the total will be $510 to payoff (390 for the loan, 90 for the payment and 30 for the bounce check fee)

i talked to Dominic at Platinum B and he was very helpful. His contact number is
Phone: 1-866-722-2770 ext. 105

I just spoke with Jeff of Platinum B Services who says that SJM Marketing Corp funds their loans. Has anyone ever heard of this company? I got a loan for $200 I hope to god I don't end up like the other person who posted a note and said they ended up having to pay double that amount back.

Deles,

People have been facing lots of troubles for these companies. They are not recognized uniquely, seems that Platinum B and SJM Marketing are related somehow.

Please go through the forum discussion on Platinum B and SJM Marketing ???

I am appalled at this company. I realize that I share some of the blame. But I am still amazed at the unscrupulos behavior of this company. According to this company, I took out a loan with them in late August, $300.00, finance charges of 90.00 every two weeks. Due to Hurricane Katrina, my financial and emotional life has been a nightmare since I lost my home etc. Unfortunately, I am just beginning to take control of my financial issues. This company has been debiting my account for the $90.00 since August. Since I did not have copies of my bills, I did not know how to contact them. But I kept thinking this must be the last payment. Finally, I contacted PlatinumB today, and was told I had not paid anything on the principle, all I was paying was the interest.

dupped,

This is the problem with short term loans. It seems that you have lost the agreement papers also. Try to get some idea what was there in the agreement papers. If $90 covers only the renewal charge and interest, then you might have to pay the principal.

Stop this cycle; try hard to repay the loan. Unfortunately, you do not have any other way. Contact them and try to settle it ASAP.

debt consolidation companies generally do not work with payday loans, however, you can see the thread below to get some more information ???

You wouldn't call the bank to make payments on this loan. That's just where this company banks at. If you have questions, or concerns, about your loan you need to call them directly. The number has been posted several times on this sight, and it'll be posted one more time right now. The number is 866-722-2770. Dial 0 to reach a representative. I've never had any issues getting through, other than once in a while I may have to leave a voice message and they'll call you back. That's probably the other problem a lot of you people have, you don't want to leave a message. You can't expect them to be able to answer ever call every time the phone rings.

had the same call from people you can't understand and then the so-called supervisor hung up on me. I was told about 6mos or more that I was paid and that they no longer would give loans to people that were paid only once a month, so since I was paid I did not worry about it any more. Now they are coming back and saying I owe 519 and threating me. Then calling me a liar and that I should have contacted pb which I said why would I if I was paid up. But they just kept interrupting me and being very rude.

Natalie,

Welcome to forums :D

First, make sure that the amount they are claiming is correct. Ask for debt validation, send letter through CMRRR. See the process of debt validation here-

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/validation.html

If they are able to validate the debt, go on with negotiation and insist them to report it as paid in full. You can contact them at-

Platinum B Services
3600 Forest Drive
P.O. Box 5757
Columbia, SC 29250

Visit this forum page for more information-

Tracy,

I would suggest you contacting Platinum B. It seems some collection agency called you and tried to threaten you of an arrest. You thought that the loan was paid off, then how can they claim it again?

Speak to Platinum B and inquire if there is any balance due in your account. Probable they can accept the payment plan that you offered.

However, ff any collection agency is calling you, tell them to validate the debt first and send you all the details of your account.

Confused,

Why are you getting scared? Since you didn't take any loan from them, there is nothing to get worried. Did you get the call from Platinum B itself, or some collection agency called you on their behalf? If it was a collection call, send them DV, CMRRR and also add one paragraph in that letter for ceasing all communications with you.

However, if Platinum B has called you, then consider speaking with someone of higher designation, like supervisor or manager. If no one is available, then write them explaining your situation. You can also contact the Consumer Protection Office of your state to get proper help.

Tracy,

Visit this page, forum members have discussed about Prelitigations of America here:

http://forums.debtcc.com/forums/about5384.html

I would suggest you sending cease comm. letter, stating not to call at your work. You can specify the time of call or you can ask them not to call you at all. Tell them that you are comfortable with communication through letters only.

Also ask them for debt validation. This will help you understand if they are authorized to collect your account or not. Moreover you would be able to verify if they are claiming correct amount from you.

Feel free to post your queries in forums and inform us what is going on.

fka,

I'm so glad that you have solved the problem somehow. It is always recommended to contact your lender first if you anticipate missing payment in near future. Some Platinum B staff had posted here in this forum few days back and suggested to contact them before the loan goes default. Thanks for sharing your experience. Keep us posted.

I just received a phone call from a company named Platinum B, Yes I have payday online loans out but this name does not ring a bell. They were rude and pretty much said I was going to jail if I did not pay immediately. I ask for paperwork and they said no. I ask why I wasent contacted before now by them regarding this and they just kept reidirating that I needed to make a moneygram and get it to them asap or I was going to see the man with the black robe...exact words. Has anyone had this experience? Help

Elizabeth-

They call me SATURDAY 4-1-06 some guy named Matt Hardy and said that I have until 2pm Est to pay $2200 or I was going to jail. This forum has helped me out tremendously. All of the phone numbers listed here are the EXACT sane number that were calling me. He had a heavy accent as if he were from India and very, very unprofessional. I have been called from the following numbers 904-685-5008 and 813-322-3459. It is the collection agancy for Platinum B and it's very unfair te embarrassment and humiliation they try to put you through. I was startled at first and very nervous, but you must take control of the phone call.
