Has anyone had any transactions with Cash Today, Ltd.

member profile picture

Has anyone had any transactions with this pay-day loan "company", located out of Reno, NV? I've explained to them, literally seven times, in the past 24 hours, that I'm working with a debt consolidation company, who will be contact them to set up a payment plan, and they are calling, over and over again. Now they've reached the point, when calling me at work, while I was in the restroom, and my boss answered the phone, of accusing her of lying for me and refusing to put the call through to me. I've told everyone who calls, from this company to call my home or cell, but they continue to call my company and I'm really worried that their harassment of my co-workers, not to mention manager, are going to jeopardize my job... Help!

Check with your state's Attorney General's Office. I know this about Georgia and Texas because the customer service rep at the payday loan compan told me. She said they are award of TX and GA but weren't aware of the law in NY...expect your refund in the morning and there it was.

Since LadyStylz has in fact got the refund, I am just assuming that this might be the process.

LadyStylz, can you please explain the process if I went wrong in the explanation.

Was that customer service rep someone who worked for Cash Tody? If I called up Cash Today and told them that they can't legally collect this debt, what will they do? Will I get a refund of the money I have paid? Do I need to call my AG's office to get them involved?

Shbear, did you get the receipt after you paid the debt? Ask them to update your account as 'paid' in your credit report. After some days, pull your credit report online and check whether the account has been updated. If it has been done, the whole process will be complete.

Asking for refund comes later if your account is not shown as paid by the company. If it has been done so far, then you won't have to worry anymore.

Hmm.. I just recently took out a loan with them... and I'm really glad I looked here because I was wondering what that mysterious phone number was... At least I have a heads up now.

Nyki, make sure that you put everything documented while dealing with them. Send your letters through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will help you to prove your efforts with the dates mentioned on it.

This is the same company that keeps calling me at work offering me a loan.I keep telling them no thanks, and that I have not even applied for a loan, but they call me at least once a week. They called me today and wanted to know why I did not want a loan from them,I told them to please stop calling me,and I will never be needing a loan from them. This company likes to harass even the people who dont have loans from them.I could hardly understand the guy on the phone, but he seemed to be mad that I did not want a loan.Go figure!!
