Arrowhead Investments - Are they dependable?

As I stated in a previous post, I am climbing out of the payday loan trap. There is one that I can not find any information on, including an email or letter in my files with my account information.

I cant find them on the internet either! I have a feeling it was another name I applied to, but no contact info for Arrowhead.

i got in touch with them, and they told me that the reason they were still continuing to take money from my account is because we haven't called them to tell them to take the payment for the loan out, that the money they have been taking is a finance charge! i asked her how that could be, and she said that until we contact them to deduct the loan amount they will keep taking a finance charge out of us.

FINALLY, I found this website and called the 1-866-355-7308 number and spoke to a "Katie". I have been trying to locate Arrowhead Investing since last spring. I told her of my attempts to contact them; after a brief moment she told me my account was considered "paid in full." I asked for a confirmation and hopefully she will follow thru. They send out one loan notice and that's it. She says they continue to take out the money until you call to tell them to stop. Something is very wrong with this. Thanks for the phone number.

I had a loan for $200 and arrowhead took from my account $1950.00 and then they sent me to a collections agency and they started threatening me that they were sending me to prison and wage garneshment and they wanted an attorney's name to send him the information. I finally talked to someone at arrowhead and that is how i got this information. My checking account was closed in February and they could not get anymore money. This company needs to be turned into the attorney general.

I have talked to both of their collection agencies and they will not give me any information. One person who bought the loan stated that she was going to call arrowhead to get in cancelled and this was over a week ago. The loan was for $200 and they took over $2500 of fees and they still say I owe them $600. I think I have paid more than my share. Any help

Guest, put a dispute on this item with the credit bureau. They will verify the item with your information providers and present the accurate picture of the account.

I guess this item needs to be verified immediately because you have already paid a large amount of money. In fact, you should also claim for a refund.

I have recieved calls from a CC calling themselves AFFIDAVIT PROCESSORS, claiming that I have PDL's with Arrowhead Investment Corp., and B&L Marketing. I have no idea who they are, nor can i find ay information about either of these companies, but the CC is trying to get me to Western Union them $2999.99, immediatly, or they are going to have me arrested at 8:00pm tonight. I've asked them to validate this, but they tell me to pay first, then they will release all information they have. WHATEVER!!!!! I believe that it's a scam.

I am having trouble finding information on Arrowhead Investments as well. I found a company online but I don't think it is the same company. I too had two payday loans I got online and they are still taking money from my account. I am trying to find out what my remaining balance is so I can pay them off. I used my work email address for the loan and I no longer work there so I am not receiving their emails. If anyone finds out contact info for this company that shows up as arrowhead investments on my bank statement - I would greatly appreciate it. The payday loans are horrible things to get into - they have already charged me about $2,000.00 for the $200.00 I borrowed.

I found two addresses for them
This one was on the envelope when they sent my loan docs in the mail awhile ago.

Arrowhead Investments, Inc
32 West South suite 350
Salt Lake City, UT 84101

This address is from the Better Busines Bereau
1219 Lydia Ave
Kansas City, MO 64106

Phone number is 1-866-355-7308
Fax Number is 1-866-379-7667

You should check the Payday Loan laws in your state, make sure you haven't over paid and are not entitled to a refund.

If you can't get in contact with them, I suggest you stop payment on those transactions and they will probably try and contact you once they get the rejection.

Tamekag
Was it ArrowHead that called your or a collection agency representing them? If you loan was for 200 that means the fee was for 60 totaling 260 and they probably charged a returned item fee which was probably around 40 or 50, that still leaves you at the most of 310. Tell them you want something in writing verifying the total amount. I'm defaulting on them tomorrow so I'm sure I will be dealing with them soon. I have my credit counselor ready to send out the proposals though.

Has anyone heard of this company before? They deposited the money into our account, and started debits, but we have never heard of them nor applied to them. Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Tamara

Tamara, I haven't heard about this company. Didn't you have the agreement in writing from them before the money was deposited in your account? It is necessary to put all the terms and conditions in writing before starting the debits. You need to have some proof in writing if there is a need to dispute anything later.

I had gotton a loan thru Arrowhead Investments as a payday loan and another company got ahold of bank info and started taking money from my account so I had to close my account. So they turned my account over to a collection agency but the crazy thing I got a call from a company by the name of bass & associates saying they were going to file charges on for obtaining by internet fraud is this something I should worry about.

P Chaney

Bass & associates must validate the debt in writing if they are doing legitimate collections. If you have not received anything in the mail, send a DV letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. If the matter is taken to the court, you will have proof in the first place about trying to know the account from the company.

I haven't seen any paper work, and I have tried to find out how to contact the company, but I can't find that information either. If I could contact them, then I would be able to find out how they got the information. I contacted my bank and requested that they stop all payments to them until I found out more information, but they told me that they could not do that since it is a ACH debit. Any other advice?
Thank you all for your help.

A lady claiming to be from Bass & Associates called me at work talking the same nonsense. The crazy thing is the left the number to call her back on and it was the same number a different lady had left who claimed she was calling from interstate compliance/Prelitigations. These people are a bunch of bull and they won't see a penny of my money.

Has anyone heard of express Cash payday loans. I have paid them over 1000 dollars for a 200 dollar loan. I want to stop payments.

strongevr

Get in touch with your bank and put a stop payment on this debit. If you do not dispute over the debits done by Express Cash, it will continue forever and you will lose your money. Your bank will help you in disputing with the company. If you have paid more than the loan amount, you should surely claim for a refund.

My god i wish people would just get a life but in life by being an attorney i see that people just dont have one so in other words before you agree to a payday loan read the terms and agreements. They can and will do whatever they have to do to recover the funds they lend to you. Its only 20 pages long!!!!

Hello.
Has anyone had to deal with these people? I have started a debt consolidation plan as I have become very sick and unable to pay my bills. I have tried to add all the people I owe but this one will not give me a valid US mailing address. They want to contact my employer for wage attachment. Can they do this? All the other creditors have agreed to the payment plan but this one. Can anyone help me?

Hi jnmeads, welcome to the forums. You did the right thing by registering with this website- this is a very supportive community, and you'll find a lot of good advice here. Since you registered, a debt counselor should be contacting you shortly to talk to you about your situation and the options that you have so you can get started down the right path. Payday loans are illegal in North Carolina, by the way, so I'm assuming most of your loans are internet payday loans. Why don't you tell us a little bit about your situation- who your loans are with, how much you've paid so far, etc. We look forward to helping you out!

Hi Nena, welcome to the forums. You should register with the forums as well, this is one of the most helpful places ever. Cash Transfer Centers is the same as Sonic Payday, and unfortunately are not an easy company to deal with- but it can be done. These are the most recent addresses I could find:
300-433 Maint Street
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Canada

500-259 Portage Avenue
Winnipeg, Manitoba
canada

And the phone number posted is 1-866-867-6642.

As for the wage assignment- send your employers a wage revocation letter, and let them know you have not authorized anyone to deduct anything from your wages. Sometimes, that's a tiny little clause the PDL companies hide in the fine print, and they can;t enforce it. Send a copy of the same letter to Sonic/CTC. Do they still have access to your checking account?

Has anyone heard of these people? I believe that I have overpaid on my account of $500 since they are taking out $90 every check for the last 4 months. I live in NV. Can someone tell me if I could dispute this charge and settle? Per the Nevada laws, there are no limits. Please let me know.

I had bass and associates call me and tell me that this case was being downloaded into the system as we speak for fraud. They will not tell me anything at Bass and associates about who what or when. They told me it was my place to keep my loan docs. I asked for a copy so that I could see that it was me. However they refused, told me to hire an attorney.
I want to pay this but you know, I thought I had paid this in full months ago. Had to get bank to freeze the account, owe them lots too because of charges. I tried to get them to stop debits but could not locate them.

Hi Tammy, welcome to the forums. Don't rush into paying this because they're threatening you. After reading some of PinkLady's posts, it looks like Bass and Assoc. may be the same as Interstate Wire/Pre-Litigations, who are in no way an above-board collection agency. A collection agency is required to respond to your request for debt validation, and you did the right thing by asking, especially if you think you've already paid this off. If you legitimately have a debt with them, they should be able to send you something; and don't agree to any payments over the phone, since these people are apparently scam artists.

I tried and they sold it to a company called I-Collect and in turn they gave it to bass & assoc, who say they are litagators, funny thing to me is it really litigation when they hang up on you. I asked for debt validation and copy of papers, because I know that I paid them months ago before my injury that has caused me a lot of time at Dr's and hospitals. Not sure what to do now, but threats from them are to download my info into the judical system in nc, where I live and they have advise me to obtain an attorney. I just want proof that I still may owe them something, seeing I have record of payments.

You said you paid them months ago, who did you send the money to? Was it Arrowhead Investment? Did you try asking them about the payment you already made? Are you sure it was a payoff and not just somethings towards prinicapl? Just trying to figure why they would try to collect on something that is paid off. These people are so shady and they need to be shut down. I've had my share of conversations with them and I will admit they scared the crap out of me when I got the first phone call. Thank God I was broke because I would have probably been and idot and sent them some money.

I too have been contacted by this company stating they bought my loan debts from other companies and they now were in charge of getting payment from me. He said total amount was 3,800.00. I finally was able to get the names of the companies that he claimed he was representing and none of them rang a bell as to the companies i had the original loans with. He also threatened me that they would be filing internet fraud charges on me and i should get an attorney. I'm not sure what to do now because it seems like all of you have had negative encounters with them also. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Lusby,

Know your legal rights and don't get intimidated by these companies. These companies try to scare people so that they can make their money very easily. If Arrow Investment has bought your debt, they are legally bound to show these debt details in writing. They must prove their authorization to collect for the debt. Be sure they can't take any actions against you before they correct their lines in the legal way. You should file your complaints at the AG's office for their violation of the federal and state laws. Keep yourself informed about the legal rights and use it as your legal cover, don't fall weak in front of them. Read the fdcpa thoroughly and know your consumer rights.

I applied for a payday loan from Arrowhead and missed the first payment because my information was stolen and had to close my account. I received a call from Bass & Associates and the lady I spoke with told me I had to pay the whole thing in full or they would file a claim against me for money laundering over the internet. The original loan was for $300 now they say I owe $650 and it could possibly go up to $1170 or more. I made a payment of $100, this was 2 weeks ago she called again today with the same story if I don????????t pay the whole thing in full they will get me arrested for fraud. I told her the first time I could only afford to pay $100 a month until this thing is paid off but she persist on getting the whole thing now or they will have me arrested. I need to know if anyone know of this company and if they are legit. Can they really do this?
