As I stated in a previous post, I am climbing out of the payday loan trap. There is one that I can not find any information on, including an email or letter in my files with my account information.

I cant find them on the internet either! I have a feeling it was another name I applied to, but no contact info for Arrowhead.

I had a phone call at work telling me that i was going to be arrested for check fraud. Something about a check deposited to my account back in july. A company called arrowhead investment was withdrawing 90.00 every two weeks from my account so i put a stop payment on it. The lady would not give me any information and just told me that since i was uncooperative i would be arrested. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up on me! I still don't have a clue!!! I called my bank and they told me it sounded like a scam! I did get a phone number from the bank. It sounds like this arrowhead is affiliated with first national bank of kansas and the number is (913)266-9000. I did try to get a loan back in july but never received any faxes to sign, etc. I just assumed that it was not going to take place. This is certainly a nice mess. I will contact the bank monday and reply with an update.

Thank you for all the info in this forum - thanks to what I've learned here, I was able to call both these companies, say the things mentioned about how much I've paid in, asking for debt validation letter, fees paid, etc. - and got BOTH companies to write off the balance - so I am now out from under what my desperation and stupidity got me into.
For SJM Marketing, I called 1-866-722-2770, ext 104 and spoke with Dustin - first he offered to just charge me the principle without any further finance charge, then when I asked for debt validation, told him how much I thought I'd paid in total, asked for confirmation, he asked me to hold, them came back and told me he would mark it paid in full, and gave me a confirmation number. (Oh, and his email address is ddernier(at)platinumbservices.com, NOT dustin(at)platinumbservices.com like their phone message says)

RE: Arrowhead Investments, I called 1-866-355-7308 and asked for Liz or Katie (apparently the 2 managers). Liz came on, I told her my situation, asked for the documentation, she put me on hold, then also came back with "I will mark it paid off, and send confirmation"

So, hopefully this is the end of these 2 money pits that I got myself into - thanks to all the good advice on this forum!

I received a call today from a man named William at Bass&Associates. He had told me that he has two files on his desk from pdls and they came back NSF from my bank. He said he contacted my bank and they told him that they were suspicious of my account for fradulent activity. First of all, I knew he was lying because I know the bank wouldn't give any info out like that and second of all, if my bank was suspicious of fradulent activity, I don't think they would have let me close the account that the pdls have access to and let me open another one. This William also went on to tell me that I had two hours to pay the debt or I would be arrested. I came back at him and told him that he can be charged with extortion for threatening me and my lawyer would be contacting him soon. By the way, I retained Langhorne Law for debt settlement with these pdls. Needless to say, William hung up on me.

I have been paying on a couple of payday loans for some time now, one for over a year, because I can't seem to pay it off. I just happened to stumble upon your website and read some of the messages, is it possible to get these people off my back and possibly a refund? If so what do I need to do? Thanks for your help.

PinkLady:
I live in Texas and have a loan with Sonic Payday that i've been paying on for a year and another with Arrowhead which I think I've been paying on it for at least 6 months. My last payment to Sonic was scheduled for the 1st, I called to make arrangements because only half of their withdrawal cleared. I knew I wouldn't have the money to pay the other half so I called to let them know. They gave me until the 15th, but I told her i am having some financial issues at this time and would like to work out payments with them. She insisted they could not work out payments and to Western Union the full amount no later than the 15th. Well since I couldn't come up with the payment, they are now calling me at work, home and on my cell. I requested a printout of my account with them, and was told they could not do that. I noticed a letter that one of the members from Plano used and printed it out. I am considering faxing it to Sonic Payday and see if they will consider my account paid in full. What do you think?

Be careful with Sonic, they have a voluntary wage assignment in your contract. You will need to revoke that voluntary wage assignment so they don't take your whole paycheck. You will also need to notify your payroll dept. Sonci is known for following through on this clause. You have been paying on this loan for quite some time from what I read in your other post. You can send the settlement letter demanding they mark your account paid in full. You should also file a complaint with your state's AG office.

I just got a call from Bass and Associates. The lady called me at work and talked for about 45 minutes about they are filing charges against me for Internet Fraud and Bad Checks. I had to stop payments on them deducting payments from my checking account. I had no information on them, like email, address, phone numbers or anything. Saying they want me to send them $635 for a $200 loan today by 4pm Eastern. I got my husband involved and she did not get over on him. He wanted proof of the loan and the company and she told him that she needed to go to a meeting and call back later. How much would we bet she will not call back.

Hello again, last time i was on this site, i got advice on how to get rid of some loans that i have been paying on for sometime. One of them being Sonic payday. I have been trying to get my bank to stop payment and they informed me that they cannot put a stop payment on an ACH withdraw. Which didn't make a bit of since to me, its my account and if I want to refuse payment on something I shouldn't have to have the bank telling me they can't. Anyway, they told me to open a new account, but i don't want to go through that hastle. I received an example of a letter telling the payday loan company to cease any and all withdraw, etc. Can that letter be used even if i'm still paying on the loan? Will it get Sonic to stop withdrawing from my account? I realize I also have to send the withdraw of authorization to garnish. How exactly do i figure out if i've paid them enough to get them to settle the debt in full? Thank you for your help, once again.

well folks, it seems I am about to begin the journey most of you seem to have already started. On 7/11/05 I did the loan 'thing' for $300. Then $90 every 2 weeks thereafter until 12/13/05. I paid back a total of $1080. That was the end of it; or so I thought.
On 12/2906 (A YEAR LATER)a $300 debit was posted to my bank account. I reported this as fraudulent to my bank with a brief history. They will investigate. Any advice at this point would be helpful. I shall keep you posted.

Thanks for this site, it has been a lifesaver

Correction: Paid the $90 ever 2 weeks until 12/27/05.
Then....on 12/29/06.....A YEAR LATER......and yeah, it was with Arrowhead. However, you actually apply with another screen that purports to "find a lender". That is why you don't see the Arrowhead name up front.

I see your problem. I got a payday loan from them. I tried to do a search and turned up nothing on the internet. Luckily, I saved one email from them. Here are the phone numbers:

Toll-free 866-355-7308
Direct 1-913-901-8027

Good luck.

Wow...I totally did not have any of these problems when I applied for a loan with Arrowhead...They explained everything very clearly about how the service charge was only used as a fee to extend the loan. Plus in the paperwork they sent me it talked about the different repayment options. I dont know what Arrowhead you all are using. The one I was using was in Leawood Kansas. Not in Kansas City Missouri. There isnt one in Kansas City Missouri. Oh well I hope you guys make it thru everything. I guess the best thing to say is next time you are desperate for some money....pay attention to what is being said to you...dont just assume...read the paper work....dont throw it in the trash.

I hope I'm posting in this question in the correct place...I too, have a few "payday loans", where one in particular, I've been paying 45.00 every two weeks since august of 2006, for a loan of 200.00. I mistakenly threw away the number, but the way it appears on my bank statement is "asap fee deposi" anyone have contact info for this company? I should've paid them off by now, but I can't seem to find any info for them!

i have an account with arrowhead also, and I got the number from this forum (thanks guys) My orginal loan was 260.00. And I've "paid" 360.00 I spoke with someone today and they told me that none of my payments are applied toward my balance, and that I still owe 260.00? Their has to be some sort of loophole with that. Any suggestions?

Sharam,

How have you been making the payments? Do you have any documents like previous bank statements, money receipts that can prove your money was sent and they have not posted it towards your account? It is wrong for the company not to post payments towards the file. You can speak with an attorney and handle this case to him.

I, too, defaulted on my loan on the 4th week. I tried to call and make arrangments. They gave me a phone number for I Collections. When I called them 3 times and left messages, they never called me back. Two days later I got a call from Bass & Associates. They said the account was turned over from I Collections because they mailed me something and I never responded. I told them I never received anything in the mail. She kept threatening me with fraud and "malicious" activity. She kept putting me on hold and trying to work out a "settlement" with Mr. So and So. Her last request said they would settle for $480 via wire on my payday. My original loan was $300. The most I would owe is $390. I told them okay. I then asked for the wiring information. She told me to call back on Friday morning. Why wouldn't they give me the wiring information right then and there? Something is definitely not right with the company. I know I owe Arrowhead, and I tried to make $50 payments every 2 weeks. I'm debating......do I wire the $480 or do I force them to send a validation of debt and then only send $50 every 2 weeks.??????

I faxed arrowhead a letter, with my state law in it on Saturday. It is Wednesday and I got a phone call, They orginally wanted an additional $510, they are marking my account paid in FULL, they faxed me the information today and actually according to my state law I still owed them $58.50. I offered to pay it, but they want me to withdraw my complaint from the attorney generals office. You Guys need to do the attorney general thing and the letter, works like a charm.

afreeman if I were you I would be DEMANDING A REFUND!

Has anyone dealt with quick draw cash? I still have an outstanding loan with them. have one with advance america, checkngo online and cashnetusa. Will be ridding myself of advance america tommorro. So will be 3 to go, Filed a complaint with attorney generals office on quick draw, they won't give me any contact information except email and phone number. I think they owe me a refund on the last loan I had with them.
