Arrowhead Investments - Are they dependable?

As I stated in a previous post, I am climbing out of the payday loan trap. There is one that I can not find any information on, including an email or letter in my files with my account information.

I cant find them on the internet either! I have a feeling it was another name I applied to, but no contact info for Arrowhead.

I received a call this AM at work from a Bernice Smith with Westbury Ventures. Turns out she was looking for payment on Arrowhead Investments. She tried to engage me, but I just asked for her fax number or mailing address. She continued to try and engage me, but I kept asking for the info. She hung up on me. I found an e-mail address for Arrowhead and I sent them an e-mail requesting a debt validation letter, copies of signed agreemeents, detail history of the account and their correspondence address. I asked that they forward the request to Bernice and that my work environment does not allow personal calls and that they only call me at home, between the hours of 7 & 8 p.m. I have their fax number, but I am not going to give them my work fax number by actually faxing something to them. Next, I will type up a formal request letter and scan it and e-mail it to them. I have been using my home e-mail address to keep them from bothering me at work. Will see where this leads...

jessica(at)arrowheadinvestments.com This is the person who keeps trying to get us to take their loans and we have repeatedly turned them down. They are rude and harrassing and the only contact info they will give is this email I have posted. Good Luck!

i see that some of these posts are older, however I wished I would have seen them sooner. I recently applied and got a payday loan with Arrowhead, however in the process of applying and getting this, my checking account was hacked into by another payday company and credit card company which withdrew funds unauthorized. The payday company claimed I had an unpaid loan with them over 3 yrs old, and the credit card company said they were affliated with payday loans and I applied for a card with them. I got the credit card company straightened out but the payday loan company will not return my calls or provide me proof I even had a loan with them. Now my account is blocked, and closed, and I have to call Arrowhead and work out some kinda deal with them to pay them back. Any suggestions? my bank is trying to recover the money lost, but until then, I am in the negative over 500.00 bills that should have gotten paid are now behind, and the money I was to repay or refinance with Arrowhead, is not available to repay because of what happened.
Oh and I find out the state I live in NC, just recently made Payday loans illegal? but how can i still get solicited and get on online ?

what to do...
thanks for any input you can provide me.

After going through my bank and asking their help,
I do have a phone number for Arrowhead Investment which is the pay day loan company. The number is
866-355-7308.

I know what you went through as I could not find a number for this company anywhere.

I've had payday loan that takes payments as Total Lending. After the help from my bank, Bank of America, I obtained what they call the trace ID # and the Company ID#. BOA referenced this phone number to me, 913-266-9000. First National Bank of Kansas.
I called them and they knew exactly which business I was looking for and gave this phone number, 866-355-7308. I believe they were closed for the day so I left a message. If you want to know how this turns out send an e-mail to sports(at)neisn.net with the word
"Arrowhead" in the subject line. Good Luck.

my husband has a payday loan thru arrowhead and just today they took 60 out twice so we called his bank to have a stop payment put on them and I called and left a message at arrowhead. This was for a 200 loan totaling 260 we have paid well over 600 after i totaled it all up. So i left them a message to call him back. Because it should have been paid in full long ago!

HonBeth, Google "fdcpa", stands for Fair Debt Collection & Practice Act. Read it through. If Arrowhead Investments is claiming to get you arrested and also call your family, then they are in violation of your rights through the FDCPA. Regarding threatening arrest, the act states under U.S. Code Collection, Title 15>Chapter41>Subchapter V>section 1692e. False or misleading representations: A debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation..with the collection of any debt...(3) The false representation or implication that any individual is an attorney or that any communication is from an attorney...(4) The representation of implication that nonpayment of any debt will result in the arrest or imprisonment of any person...unless such action is lawful and the debt collector or creditor intends to take such action....(5) The threat to take any action that cannot legally be taken or that is not intended to be taken...(7) The false representation or implication that the consumer committed any crime or other conduct in order to disgrace the consumer. ----the list goes on and on, HonBeth!

The collection agency cannot arrest you for nonpayment of your debt. The collection agency will not subpoena you to court for this small dollar amount. You do have rights. You should seriously consider making complaints to the Better Business Bureau, the FTC (Fair Trade Commission) and your state's AG (Attorney General) office. Your state has a legal limit to fees and interest rates for payday loans, and the amount they are telling you that you MUST pay is illegal in your state, I'm quite sure! My state (Ohio), for instance, does not allow loan rollovers. My state's max apr is 25%. My state's allowable payday loan fees are $5 per every $50 borrowed.

Do major research, and you will become the victor!

Arrowhead sent me an email today advising me a pre-approve payday loan... I do not know how they have all of my information but my question is that they can not deposit any loan into my account without my consent, right?

Have you ever had a payday loan?? They are known for sharing information. And I have seen where they have deposted funds with out consent. I would call them immediatly and request you be removed from their listings. If they do make the deposit..most of them have a disclaimer that you can return the monies within 3 days without paying interest.

My friend you need to try the information the other person posted and find the company before it hits your credit report. If it hits your report that will be a collection account and thats not good.

How long can arrowhead investments keep taking $60 out of my account? I am having a hard time paying them off and every 2 weeks they take Their fee out. Is there a limit as to how long they can keep doing this or can they keep it up until I pay it off?

What state do you live in and how long have you had this loan out? They are going to continue to take money out of your account until you stop it from happening. Let me know what state you live in so we can look up your state's laws regarding payday loans.

justinc
Sounds like you received a call from one of the nasty collection agency's. Did you have a loan out with arrowhead investments?

You need to find the laws governing payday loans that are specific to your state. Search for payday loan consumer info. The website will allow you to pick your state and give you your states laws. Then you need to file a complaint with the FTC and also the attorney general in your state. I live in Ca and rollover extension payments are not allowed. Dont let them bully you either. They get pretty nasty when you tell them they have to abide by the state laws in your state. I want to thank everyone on this site for giving me the info that I needed.

I appreciate so much the number for the Arrowhead advance service. This is the only info I have found on that company. They answered the phone- JL Associates or something like that. I couldn't figure out why I was constantly overdrawn and the woman told me on the phone they would just keep "exteneding the loan" to the tune of an additional $90.00 until you tell them to stop - but how do you find them? I closed my bank account and stopped my direct deposit because of this scam, be aware of this and other payday loans out there. Post date a check to family if at all possible but aviod this company at all costs!

Stay away from this company. I sent specific instructions per their guidelines to pay my loan in full on na certain date. They debited my account earler and needless to say sent me into the red. checks bounced everywhere. I have called their numbers and when finally did get a human was directed to another number. Their mailing address is at a mailboxes etc. I feel that they owe me for the NSF Fees. I'll be contacting the state atty generals in my home state and in delaware where the mailbox is located.

I also borrowed money from a payday loan and this name showed up on my statement. I also have ben the subject of fraud with the Geneva Roth company that I never had any business dealings with. My bank seems to have a hard time stopping the debits even though I filled out paperwork to have it stopped.

im am responding to all the emails that i am reading about on this website. i too took out a 300 dollar loan and it is costing me over 1200.00. According to the loan contract they were to take 390.00 out to repay but every other week they were withdrawing 90.00 from my account. I ask them not to take any more money out to just send me a statement and i was told that they had to take it out of my account. I called my bank and they said that anytime you give some one access to your account they can take any amount they wish. I stop my money from going into the account but kept the account open you have no ideal how many time the tried to deduct from my account not the 390.00 that should have been taken out according to the contact but 90.00 and i have a lot of overdraft fees because of this. I work in the Medical field and i had a person to call me yesterday telling me it was going to cost me $20,000.00 dollars and represent them self as the law and even gave me their badge number and hung up on me. Then i came it to work this morning and one of me co worker said whats going on a office kelly bailey called and said she was going to have some one come in and arrest me. I called her immediatley. Now they want $775.00 and i am to call her tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM Sharp. She stated that she was with the FBI and i never got the information to Western Union the money. Now this information is all over the office where i have worked along time. Oh there is more that was told between Roy Campbell and Kelly Bailey

Tamara

Call your bank and talk to the fraud department and tell them that you want to put a hold on your account because someone got ahold of your account information. They cannot refuse to put a hold on the account since the account number is now compromised. I've had to do the same thing. When you put a hold on the account, no payments can be taken out....money can only go in. I currently have a hold put on my account and my paychecks and any other money can go in but no one, not even myself, can take money out at all. It doesn't matter how they are taking the money out, a hold on the account will stop everything except for deposits.

I just spoke with someone from ArrowHead also and I am glad I check into as well. The original loan I got from them was for 300.00 and the lady I spoke with told me the principle was not paid yet so I still owed 390.00 but they had debited my account five times for 90.00 each. After explaining this she put me on hold and came back on and told me that her supervisor said to consider it paid off. I am very happy that this message was posted because of I had not called they would have kept taking money from my account. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE THAT IS THINKING ABOUT USING ARROWHEAD COMPANY FOR ANY LOANS.... SCAM SCAM SCAM... BBB SHOULD BE CONTACTED

My nightmare began this morning when I man called my home (10 times back to back I might add)and spoke to my 8 year old daughter. My daughter told this man with a VERY thick Indian accent that I was not available he proceeded to tell my 8 year old that her mommy was going to go to jail and that the police were coming to the house to arrest her mommy and she would never see her again. My daughter was TERRIFIED! She came to me frantic and in tears. The person called back and I spoke to him and he rattled off alot of legal jargon and used the scare tactics that you all have mentioned. He told me that I needed to western union over $700 in the next two hours or I would be taken off to jail. He also threatened to call my employer. He treatened to tell my employer that I was a fraud and committedc check fraud and that I would be fired on the spot and than they would have me arrested at my job. He clearly had me rattled until he said to me that if I didnt have the full amount of money he would use his OWN debit and pay it for me... that is when I started to feel better because come on now... he was going to take it from his own debit card. YEA, OK! I do have a payday loan and I admit that I owe them... but all of these threats can not be legal. I will pay them what I owe them and that is ALL. I can't help but still feel uncomfortable and a little scared. The company that I worked for when I took out the loan went bankrupt and I was out of work. I have been fortunate enough to find another one and my BIGGEST fear is that these horrible people will find out what company I work for now and call them and tell them all of this crap and my company will believe them and I will lose my job. I am very scared of that happening. Can anyone help me... I did pull my old sprint bills and was able to find the original phone number that I used when I initially took out this loan and I plan on calling them first thing Monday morning. But I am still very scared of the possibility of me losing my new job.

If anyone out there has any information for me to help me out of this scam PLEASE HELP ME!

debt collectors are not allowed to: contact you before 8:am and after 9:00 pm.
They are not allowed to call your family members and your work. They are not allowed to threaten you or use statements that are not true.

Here is an email I sent to Arrowhead:

And the response:

Quote:

To whom it may concern,

It has come to my attention that your company is not licensed in the State
of Texas, which is required for all payday lenders loaning to Texas
residents regardless of the location of the business. As such, I was not
legally permitted to enter into the loan contract with you, and based on
advice of counsel and an opinion from the Texas Attorney General's
office, our contract is not valid. Therefore, I am immediately and
permanently revoking my authorization for you to debit my accounts.
This revocation is in effect for any representative, parent company, affiliate, or subsidiary.

Additionally, I am requesting that you immediately place me in a do not loan
status, and mark my account paid in full/zero balance due to the fact that
our contract is illegal in the State of Texas.

I expect your affirmative response within 24 hours of receipt of this email
or I will request the assistance of the State of Texas in seeking
injunctive relief from the contract.

Respectfully submitted,

And the response:

Your account has been withdrawn from collections and has been set at a zero balance with Arrowhead Investments, Inc. Attached is a copy of your paid in full letter to keep for your records. Please contact me directly if any further questions. Thank you.

Yep........PDL's can be a nightmare. I think it's illegally, for ANY PDL to contact your family. That was horrible to read. 'Collectors', for PDL's, will use ANY tactics, to have you pay the very high, ILLEGAL, % rate, they set for their 'loans'.
