I have defaulted on multiple payday loans totaling $2200 in Washington State.

Hi Andrews , you will not go to jail. There are no jail prisons for debtors. WA prohibits any kind of criminal actions. Is there anyway you can pay the debt you owe to the company. I don't have the specific if your company charged excessive amount on your loan, but you have to pay the legal charges along with the principal amount. Take one of the debt management programs for doing your repayments. Who do you have the loans from?

No, nothing either of you said is true! YOU CAN and WILL go to jail if you don't pay them. The reason why is because they have your check right? So they will deposit your check, and if it (or those checks depending on how many you have) come back a basically a bad check..then they can prosecute you for check fraud! You don't believe me? My brother JUST got out of country lock up , like a month ago, for this exact thing. He took 5k in payday loans, he owed every single loan place in town over $500!! (Don't ask me why he did that ) and he couldn't pay them off in two weeks..duh of course not, especially since he only make $300 a paycheck (or did , lost his job when he went to jail) and so anything over $500 is felony check fraud! Well he owed EACH of those places $575...so where did he go? You got it. SIx months in jail, plus he still have to pay them off and has to do community service..and now has a felony and can't even get a job at the locak Wal-Mart! So you better talk to someone you know can help you, or take out a bank loan and pay them..or get two three four..however many , jobs you can get...and get them paid off. If they let you make payments, take that plan but don't miss a payment! That was a REALLY stupid thing you did, payday loans are for people with bad credit, who are spend thrifts and can't live on a budget. It seems great to have all that money at the time, and go have a ball with it..then in two weeks when it is due...you freak out because you owe so much you can't pay! Hope whatever you spent it on was worth it! And I hope you get them paid before your court date.

You will not go to jail because of default on internet loans. Period. If you take out a bunch of storefront loans and refuse to pay them, I suppose you could be prosecuted for check fraud. I think it would be REALLY hard to get $5000 in store front loans, though. I think there is more to this story.
