MCYDSNB credit card/VISDSNB - How to remove it from credit report?

I just got my credit report recently, and there is a VISDSNB account. I don't think I have opened that account, I wonder what is VISDSNB, so that I can close that account.

This is the information available on the credit report:
Address:
9111 DUKE BLVD
MASON, OH 45040
No phone number available

I saw this on my credit report as well. DSNB stands for Department Store National Bank. I opened up a Bloomingdales Visa and I was actually issued 2 accounts (which I didn't realize). The VISDSNB account was separate from the Bloomingdales account - its a regular Visa that you can use anywhere. They appear as separate accounts on your credit report, even though you only carry one credit card. Look at the back of your dept store credit cards and the DSNB phone number is on there. I cancelled the accounts without any hassle over the phone.

I also found the MCYDSNB on my credit report and I have no Macy's account or any other credit card for that matter. It's a zero balance. Should I be concerned? What else could it be?

I too just found this on my credit report as well and had no idea who they were any was quite concerned because there was no phone number.

Well problem solved, its MACYS. DSNB means Department Stores National Bank. I wanted to closed my Macy's account anyway and sure enough it was the very same account that I was questioning.

Hope this helps all the other confused people out there

Like many of you, i found some surprising accounts on my free annual credit report.

Those DSNB accounts (MCYDSNB and VISDSNB) are accounts with Department Store National Bank - they do credit for Macy's & Bloomies. Perhaps you, like me, got sucked into an offer for %-off your purchase to get you to sign up ;-)

You can call their credit service desk at 1(866)593-2543 and they can look up your account by SSN and close it for you. I just did it and they were very pleasant.

Well, I just had the same thing happen to me. 1/8/07. Says I have had the accounts open since April of 06. I have never asked for any credit card even close to that time frame. One of them has a $4000 credit limit and the other $5000. I disputed them even though the are not showing up as negative items. I hope it doesn't hurt my credit score by removing them. Anyway...thanks for the info.

MCYDSNB is the creditor Macy's. If this creditor is showing on your credit report, you have an account open with Macy's. If you did not open a credit card with Macy's, you could have had an open account with L. S. Ayres. Macy's bought out Ayres so any credit cards you had with Ayres would now show as Macy's or "MCYDSNB" on your credit report.

This showed up on my credit report two months after my wallet was stolen. I was freaking out and then found this website. I did get a macys card two weeks ago, but didn't realize I would be getting a visa also. Thanks for the info. My credit and identity are still ok...for now!

I just got off the phone with VISDSNB and was able to find their phone number through this website. I found I was issued a Visa when I reactivated my inactive Macy's card in the store. I was not asked if I wanted one, the clerk must have checked "YES" when the question was asked of the clerk according to the Visa's customer service rep. I called and closed this account and am now closing my Macy's too.
I found I had this account by checking my credit report.

This is a Visa credit card opened via Macy's or Bloomingdale's, both owned by Federated Department Stores. DSNB is Dept Stores National Bank, the bank that issues credit accounts for Federated. VISDSNB = Visa card issued by DSNB. BLMDSNB = Bloomingdales card issued by DSNB. MCYDSNB = Macys card issued by DSNB.

To dispute/close accounts, you can call:

VISDSNB: 800-668-7196
BLMDSNB: 888-922-7026
MCYDSNB: 800-830-3087

So I had the same thing happen. I have a Macy's card... have two of these VISDSNB cards open. No idea where this card is, never seen it.

Will closing this hurt our FICO scores though?

How scary & annoying,
steph

VISDSNB is the visa affiliation with a macys credit card to cancel you need to cancel your macys account

If you receive a Macys Visa card that means that
you applied for a Visa credit card. Meaning you
can purchase at any place other than Macys Stores.
If you purchase at Macys Store, expect a Macys
account bill, but if you purchase outside the
store, you will receive a Visa bill. Please
call the # behind your card to cancel visa and
request a Macys store card instead.

I also ran my credit and found this odd account. I think it should be illegal for federated to do this! I think I will contact the CRA. Thanks for the information.

I am not sure but from what I read, it has to be an account that is tied to your Macy's account. Since another person has a MCYDSND which is Macy's. They send you a Macy's Red card to start out with. Then when you spend alot or some like me :) They send you a gold card with a VISA insignia and Bam they have another account open for you. No biggie but kinda scummy to do that.

The VISDSNB account may be showing on your credit report because you have a Macy's VISA card. These cards actually have two accounts attached to them -- the store account # and the VISA account number, and each shows up separately on the report.

This company account appeared on my credit report; however, I paid this account in full some time ago, and I would like to write to this company to ask them to close this account so it reflects as such on my report. Thank you!

I guess ...if we have memberships with EQUIFAX, EXPERIANS,COMSUMERINFO, ETC....they should have a certain way to protect us from CREDIT FRAUD like VISDNB... I am currently in trouble with VISDSNB now. last night they send a negative report ( late payment)to CREDIT BEAUREAU- EXPERIAN against me.......It is so painful...

I just copied my credit report and also have VISDSNB on it with the same address as Macy's but I have a phone number 800-267-8472. I have not tried it yet so don't know if it is a good number but will do soon. Hope it helps

I agree that it is just another account (not necessarily a card, but an account linked with big department stores. I found it on my credit report and noticed it was opened the exact same day as my Bloomingdales card.

The balance for my VISDSNB is $0 at the moment so I will probably not worry about it unless/until that changes or I decide to cancel my Bloomingdales card.
