This just happened to me also. I googled VIDSNB and this page came up. I'm pretty freaked out about having an account I know nothing about, but I did let the credit bureau know that I'm unawares. Should I put up a fraud alert?
Thanks.

VISDSNB is joined with Federated Stores when you set up a store account, there is the store account, and then they set up another visa account that is linked to the card, so you have to make sure they close both accounts, or just one of them.

Almost all credit card companies will report the consumer accounts to the bureaus. If you are unaware about any of the account specifically, send a letter to the company as well as the CRA and query about the entry.

Insist on getting a statement in writing about the closure of the account. This will be a helpful and valid proof of your dispute being settled.

I have the same

visdsnb
MCYDSNB credit card

I think when we signed up for a Macy's card they "threw" in a visa. I guess I'll have it removed, though doesn't it hurt my score to remove it/lower total amount of credit available.

2cool4skool, you must send a letter to the company inquiring about this entry. In the recent times, I have heard many others complaining about the same issue. This entry suddenly popped up in a large number of credit files. The CRA must be getting large number of complaints on this issue. So, they must have thought about an alternative. You need to dispute on this item with the CRA as well.

Jokey, there are three national Consumer Reporting Agencies(CRA) that frame millions and millions of consumers credit files. You can also put a copy of your credit file and know the latest standing of your credit history. Contact each or all of them at the following phone numbers:

Equifax (800-685-1111) (www.equifax.com)
Experian (888-397-3742) (www.experian.com)
TransUnion (800-888-4213) (www.transunion.com)

i read the former subjects on this. But i am still a little confused. So the MCYDSNB is a credit card? Issued from Macy's ?

MCYDSNB credit card is the company that handles Macy's and all other Federated Stores credit cards. Many of you probably have an account with Macy's or one of the affiliated stores. I would imagine that you can remove it only upon closing the particular account.

Hello all,

Same story, the diffrence is that I do know I applied for a Macy's card (about a week ago) the second one is the one I did not apply for and it just showed up in my report with the same opening date as the Macy's card, with a pretty high credit limit too.

Experian has an online dispute service so I am going to try disputing the information online see what happens, but first I am going to try contacting Macy's see if they know anything about it.

Thank you all for sharing this problem here, I got pretty scared earlier when I've seen that entry and I googled it and got here :)

Hello again,

Sorry for the previous posting in the mean while I read the policy at the end of the brochure I got for the Macy's card, thing I should have done earlier, but as you can imagine is somewhere in the back, long story, small letters.
It says there that if you apply for a card in store with their express application you will be considered for a VISA card with two accounts, one for Macy's , one for other stores that accept VISA. This happens only if you apply in store and ofcourse are approved for both of them.

Hope it helps! :)

I had the same problem- VISDSNB and MCYDSNB both showed up on my credit report. I called Macy's- apparebtly they issude a Visa card to all Macy's charge customers. It was just done, they didn't need authorization. Anyway, you have one card but it works for two accountsw with different numbers. One is the VIS (Visa) and the other is the MCY(Macy's) Check your card it should have a Visa logo on it. If you call Macy's they'll cancel the Visa if you want and just send you a regular card.

As some above have indicated, MCYDSNB is a Macy's Charge card. I called and cancelled the account no problem.

If you have Macy card, Macy linked two accounts to the card, one is MCYDSxx, to be used inside Macy's; the other is VISDSxx, to be used as a credit card outside of macy's. I just searched online and got the FACS's number and let them close the visa account linked to this card.

Macy's behavior sucks. It occupies a high credit limit with no advantages over other credit cards, such as CITI or CHASE dividened.

Mike,

It is always suggested to dispute incorrect entries with credit bureaus. You can send dispute letter to bureaus mentioning the item that you want to dispute.

You can also visit this page to see how to dispute with credit bureaus online-

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/video/disputecreditreportentry.html

Hope this helps, best of luck :D

The same thing happened to me when I opened a charge account at Macy's. The piece about one listing on with the credit bureau for Macy's and another one under VISDSNB was the same for me. It was easy to fix by call Macy's customer service at 1-866-282-8697. They said the sales clerk should have told me when I signed up. If they did tell me I ignored it as I was salivating over the discount I was getting on my purchase too much to listen well.

I recently disputed VISA/DSNB with equifax and reported the item as not being my account. That compnay then replied to Equifax stating that the account was mine. I do not have a number for that company. I need this off my credit report since it is being reported as recently opened then closed which is hurting my credit score. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My credit report had MCYDSNB & VISDSNB.
I do not have these credit cards. I GOOGLED these two and find something (in German language) about debt consolidation. Are they using us to increase they customer numbers to secure loans? In Germany?

This account is settled long time ago

Do you have any document of your payments to them, like check stub, bank statement, agreement paper or stuff like that? You can send copies of these documents to credit bureau to accelerate the investigation process.

Have you contacted OC for this purpose? It is your creditor's responsibility to report your account properly.

I have allready disputed but again it is refected and not been corrected.

What do you mean by ???again it is reflected'? Was it removed from your report and re-inserted after few days or it was never corrected at all?

Yeah, this happened to me too. Except it seems like a total fraud. The balance went to $100 then the person paid it off. Then it went to $600 then they paid it to $0. Well throughout the year the balance is now $7000. Of course I didn't know about any of this until lately. The person responsible is probabally about to skip out once it reaches the $9500 Limit. This sucks.

I DID apply for a Macy's card at Christmas time to get the extra 10 or 15 % off my purchase. However, I've never received a bill or the credit card from them. But I see that they're now reporting me as 60 days late, which really bugs me,

Any others who are finding this acct on their credit repoort in the same boat where they applied and used the credit for a purchase but never got the bill?

Is that a stunt by Macy's to bean us for late fees???

I also just found this on my report. I hadn't opened an account with Macy's but once I got to thinking about it I realized that The Bon Marche is now Macy's. I did find a number (1-866-593-2543) and got the account closed.

I just received my credit report and I have both VISDSNB and MCYGEMB accounts. I thought MCYGEMB is my Macy's card. But I'll find out. I didn't know this happened to so many people.

Just did what "JUSTAHELPER" suggested. Call Macy's customer service at 1-866-282-8697 and cancelled both MACY and VISA accounts in 2 minutes. I just kept pressing "0" and "#" to get to an CSR. Still can't believe that my limit was $3k and $1k, but at least I opened it a while back. Still got more accounts to close and dispute. Good luck to all.

Sure enough, this showed I "opened" an account in 2000, with absolutely no activity on it. I have a Zero Ballance on "my" account since 2000, but it still showed up as my one negative out vs. 33 positives on my credit report! I called Macy's at 513-398-5221 and sure enough they cancelled it, and said they would send a change notice to the credit bureaus but it still gave me the heebie-jeebies because.... since they don't even list the entire Account #, you have to give them details to get "removed" and I HATE that.

I think what Macy's did was VERY bad. I called and reported them to the

Federal Trade Commission:
Consumer Response Center - FCRA
Washington, DC 20580 1 877 382 4357

and then I found their local BBB
Cincinnati BBB
7 West 7th Street, Suite 1600
Cincinnati, OH 45202 - 2023
(513)421-3015
Fax: (513)621-0907
complaint(at)cinbbb.org
www.cinbbb.org

and just registered a complaint there, too. That BBS site was VERY EASY AND GOOD.

Ok so here's the deal: I just got my Credit Report online and saw MCYGExx and VISDSxx on it. I used the number that was given on a previous post to find out what the deal was. Buty they just transferred me to this number: 888-234-5672. They are both from MACY's. One is of you use the card in the store and the other is a VISA for when you are outside the store, on the Same Card.

BTW ??? if you have a Filenes Card, that will soon show up as MACY's also. It will probably look like another MCYGExx card on your Credit Report.

Yes, Damn Macy's never sends bills then tries to rack up late fees against me. Negatively impacted my credit score by 60 POINTS! Finally got wise to what was going on, cancelled all accounts, received written confirmation that derogatory info was to be removed, AND filed disputes with each individual credit bureau.

This showed up on my credit report when I ran it and I had absolutely no idea what it was. I was in the same boat as many in the way that I didn't open this account, it was given to me automatically.

The rep I had was nice but seemed a little confused so hopefully it will be closed like she said it was. I'm going to check up on it in awhile and make sure though.

I'm very glad I was able to find this entry since I can now clean up my credit a little with all these accounts I never use. My score is still very good; however, I don't like having credit lines open unless I actively use them.

Thanks to whomever figured out this is a Macy*s-related account. Federated has so many stores, it would be much more convenient if they just had a Federated Store Card, and a Federated Visa or MC!

This is linked to the MCYDSNB account. It is the VISA part to the MACY's Card. On the same card there is an in store charge card limit of whatever your credit report says and the VISA part is a separate Bank Card account that can be used anywhere that VISA is accepted. I would not reccomend closing this account if you have had it for any length of time because it is good to have bank Cards on your credit report and the longer you have them the better. I am a loan officer and investment banker. Don't just get rid of everything because you don't know what it is, research and do whats best for your score.
