Do you know what are the state laws in california. I think it can only be one wage garnishment at a time but i am not sure

There is no number of garnishment maximum. As long as the totakl garnishments are 25% or less, it's legal.

If it isn't a court ordered garnishment I would take it up with your payroll dept. I'm trying to find it right now, but I think in California only taxes and child support are allowed for wage assignments.

I am also in California and know that the 25 percent rule is spot-on. (Believe it or not, California knows that we have to have cash to pay our insanely high rents, mortgages, etc. :cry: ) And we're not going to go into the price of gas here , which was $3.15 a gallon for the cheap stuff this morning!!
Check and see if any of these are voluntary wage assignments and REVOKE THEM!!!!!!! Like I said, REVOKE THEM now!!!!!!!!
I would find out how much is being taken out for your first garnishment, which can only be done via court order, by the way and if it's already 25 percent, I really don't think they can do it.
