I received a voicemail today from a woman named Kathleen Robinson with United Cash Loans at 800-410-9275. She stated that I needed to contact her today by 5pm to avoid further processing. When I called the united cash loans phone number, they answered. Has anyone spoken with this woman and is she really calling from UCL or does she really work for a CA representing UCL?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a 250.00 loan on july 26th of last year with united cash loans, that was 8 months ago,so so far i have paid nearly 800.00 on this loan, they have been taking out more than the renewal fee, what can i do.

I have been dealing with United Cash Loans as they claim that I owe them money. I asked what day and what account they deposited the money and faxed them my bank statement showing that there were no deposits from them. They told me that because I blacked out stuff that had a date a week later than what they said was the date it was deposited they would not accept it. I asked them what state they were licensed out of and they refused to answer. I call the FTC and Utah State Attorney General about it and they told me it sounded like a scam and not to pay them because they have no record of United Cash Loans being licensed anywhere to do pay day loans. My suggestion to everyone that has any dealings with United Cash Loans is to not pay them any money whether you really owe them or not as they are not a legitimate company and were violating the law when they made the loan. They will harass you but when you tell them to put it on your credit report or sue you they do not because that would mean they would be giving you access to the information they are trying to hide but are required to provide you with.

How can I find out if they are licensed in the state of PA? I too, have a 200.00 loan & they've debited my acct for 375.00 already. I had closed the account & now they are calling me at work harassing me.

So what can I legally tell these people when they call me at work?

I think that since I took their money, I really should pay it back, but the so-called renewal fees more than cover the original amount of the loan. Is there a "script" or something that I could read them asking them to consider the loan paid in full? Even though I paid more than I borrowed, I would even consider the overpayments as Interest or fees. Sure, I wouldn't mind getting them to refund the overage, but at this point, I just want it to be OVER WITH.

i take it since they are calling they can't debit any more.good, send a letter stating your state laws,as well as a C&D letter.you paid what you are supposed to.tell them not to call you at work.once they get your letters they legally can't.send the letters certified mail return receipt.

I do not know if they are liscensed in South Carolina. How can I find this information out and will I have to pay anymore towards the Loan?

united cash loans is part of MTE.they will not be legal anywhere.if you paid the principal in supposed interest then you are done you owe them nothing more.if you overpaid the principal then you can demand a refund.can't guarantee you will get one,but you shouldn't pay them another dime.they will fight you on that.don't listen, they are unlicensed therefore illegal.they are not licensed at all, they are illegal in every state.

Hi Hether,
Let me tell you that every state has it's own set of payday loan laws.
Tennessee is such a state where it is not mandatory for the internet pdl to be essentially licensed in the state where the customer resides. Here is the basic law: - Quote:

The following state allow an internet based payday loan company to lend legally as long as it is licensed in any US State. They would need to follow the laws of the state they are licensed out of, not the state the consumer is in.

Arkansas

Minnesota

Pennsylvania

Rhode island

Tennessee

Wisconsin

Now let us come to the basic loan terms permitted in your state: -
Quote:
Loan Terms:
Maximum Loan Amount: $500
Loan Term: Max: 31 days
Maximum Finance Rate and Fees: the lesser of 15% of the check or $30
Finance Charge for 14-day $100 loan: $17.65
apr for 14-day $100 loan: 459%
. Please check whether united cash loans has abide all the above mentioned loan terms while giving you the pdl.

Now, the question regarding Debt limits come to the fore. What does Tennessee's payday loan laws say? It says that Quote:
Debt Limits:
Maximum Number of Outstanding Loans at One Time: 3 (2 per licensee)
Rollovers Permitted: None (cannot renew or otherwise consolidate)

If the concerned pdl company has violated any of the above mentioned pdl laws then you can complain to: -

I feel really stupid to not have not done a background check on UCL. I just took out a 200.00 loan from them today. I have not received it yet and I called them today but they were closed. I no longer want the loan after the things that I have heard. Is there anyway to put a stop to my bank receiving the money?

IN May 2008 I took a loan for 150$ from UCL.I paid it back in full w/fees. Subsequently in 8/08 UCL tried to debit my account for $600 and I had to fill out fraud papers with the bank. They said my stop payment with UCL would be good for 6 mos. Unfortunately UCL has tried 2 more times to take money out of my acct and have recently succeeded again. My bank(US Bank) is now telling me that there is nothing they can do to help. Can't they offer to close my acct or something and I can open another one? Why are they not responsible if I have a stop payment which was issued by the bank in 8/08 supposedly good for 6 mos against UCL? Please help. I am going to try to at least close my account with them. Maybe this is my only alternative since I can't get any cooperation from US BANK on this.

I would raise all kinds of hell. Walk into the branch and ask to see the manager. Do not take no for an answer. Be very loud and insistent. Make sure that it is at a busy time of day. Take all documentation with you. Also, find out the name of the President and CEO, CFO of US Bank before you go and make sure you start dropping names. You will definately get their attention and if you're a big enough PITA, you should be able to get this issue resolved. Follow up with e-mails to the President, CEO, CFO, etc.

I was able to get in touch with someone at US Bank today and she told me that the reason this $600 debit was taken out of my account and not stopped was because my stop payment was for EFT only. This time the sneaky thieves at UCL submitted a check and it went through. Get this is it says specifically on the check that this is authorized by me in the event that an EFT is not processable. These guys are real good! I am going to go down to the bank in person tomorrow and close the account. This seems to be the only way out from these crooks! I can't beleive that a stop payment has such boundaries as EFT or checks. It's from the same enity though. Both say UNited Cash loans on them. This has been a very expensive lesson for me. I hope that no one else does any business with UCL. I have tried to contact them and of course they are closed everytime I call. What a scam. I feel like such a fool!

UNITED CASH LOANS HAVE BEEN MAKING FRAUDULENT PAYMENTS TO GET MONEY OUT OF OUR ACCOUNT. SO FAR THAT I KNOW OF THEY HAVE MANAGED TO GET $800. I HAVE CHANGED BANKS AND ACCOUNTS NUMEROUS TIMES. THE BANK HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND IS NOW CONDUCTING THEIR OWN INVESTIGATION. I DON'T EVER EXPECT TO SEE THIS MONEY AGAIN. MY QUESTION IS: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO TO STOP THIS OR GET OUR MONEY BACK OR SHUT THEM DOWN? APPARENTLY WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THIS IS HAPPENING TO. THEY HAVE PRESENTED ANOTHER FRADULENT PAYMENT TO MY ACCOUNT TODAY FOR $277.00 WHICH I CANNOT GET THE BANK TO STOP PAYMENT. I DON'T KNOW HOW A BUSINESS CAN STAY IN BUSINESS WHEN BREAKING THE LAW. IF I COULD AFFORD AN ATTORNEY, I WOULD TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM. MAYBE EVERYONE THEY HAVE DONE THIS TO NEEDS TO CHIP IN, HIRE AN ATTORNEY THAT WILL GO AFTER THEM AND PUT AN END TO THIS FRUSTRATION THEY HAVE HAVE CAUSED NOT TO MENTION THE EMPTY POCKET BOOKS!

We borrowed 300 from ucl back in November. (our first time doing a payday advance) They have been debiting our account 90 every other week. Until recenly they removed an addtional 50. They are going to remove another 125 today. (Thus totaling 625 ona 300 dollar loan.) We have recently learned they are just renewal fees! Should have read the fine print. So none of the money we have been paying has been going toward the principle? Why are they charging us more than the 90 fee? Is any of that going toward the principle of the loan?
I contacted them, but since the loan was in my husband's name, they would not give me any information. I had to be a customer. My husband has not been able to make contact with them.
After reading everyone's horror stories with them, I am fearful they can just come up with some random amount that we owe. We would have to pay it. We do not want this to destroy our credit by not paying them.
Is there anyone who has actually succeeded in fighting a case against them?

I have also taken out a loan with ucl and paid them in full. They have since tried taking out more money out of my account, most recently they sent a fraudulent check in the amount of 465 dollars. I dont know where they got that amount. I had a stop payment put on my account for this co., but they still got the money out. I am in the process of contacting my bank because they are legally obligated by the Federal Regulation E to protect my interest regarding my bank account. If you put a stop payment it goes by a merchant no. and there is no reason why they cant stop it. No matter what the amount is. Has anyone heard about this?

once an illegal pdl has your account and routing#.they can and will get money out a number of different ways.

1)use a diff co name
2)put through a diff amount
3)put through a paper check.

that is why it's best to close the current account and open a new one.some people have done this at the same bank.while others have switched banks.

I can almost %100 guarantee that United Cash Loans does not operate out of Nevada. And the address that they're giving you from Oklahoma is that of an Indian Reservation ground, hence the reason its legal to conduct their business from there.. Who in the world said that they were from Nevada??

because there OK address is just a p.o. box mail drop.they do not have an actual presence there.that is why there exemption is a sham.

The owner of the company has tried just about every subterfuge on the planet to keep state AG's and class action lawyers from nailing him. At one time it was a Nevada lending license. Before that he was a "servicer" for a bank. Now, he's a management consultant for a couple of Indian tribes.

Meanwhile the whole thing is being run out his Shawnee Mission, Kansas call center the same way it was twelve years ago when he got started.

I had recently gone on here and stated that we had just realized that they were only taking out renewal fees, not actually paying the loan.
So we called them to pay off the amount we owe. On Thursday they are going to take out 350 from the loan that we had borrowed back in November. The charges on top of the 90 dollar payments were going toward what they considered interest and the principle. So although we had payed an extra 95 dollars, only 40 dollars of it actually went to towards the principle of that loan. In total, they have removed 1015 from our bank account on a loan that was for only 300 dollars!
I am fearful that they may try to give us an unauthorized loan now that they have our bank info. I guess the only thing to do is to close our account.
What a painful lesson in borrowing money from these types of companies!
Again, I am going to ask if any one has been sucessful in actually fighting back against this company?
