Collection Calls

I have been lately receiving calls from people whom say they are debt collectors from a debt from Oct 2003 from citi bank , on the first call I told them this was not my debt since I have never done business with them. I asked for a validation letter and was told that one was sent to an old address that I haven't used for over 10 years, I gave them my new address ( not sure If I had to or not ) and again requested a validation letter be sent to me, the person siad they didnt have to send me one and they were suing me and hung up on me .
about a week later I got a call from a female this time the girl told me that he computer screen went down and she would have to call me back , she never did,
today again someone called I asked for her name and she gave it to me , i asked for her company name she wouldnt tell me , I also asked for her address she said she would e mail me with all the information and a validation letter , when I pressed for the address again she siad she didnt know it by heart and would have to put me on hold she then hung up on me.
obviously this is some kind of scam or something ?????
How do I proceed with these calls since I cant seem to get anyone to give me the information I need to get a letter to me or should I just ignore them ?

Seems like a scam to me. They keep stalling when you ask for their physical address, classic sign. Pay nothing without receiving proper proof of debt.
