Has anyone worked with Credit Keeper?

I used them to check my Credit report, actually they havent been bad to me. Not sure about what the above post is reffering to with debt consolidation, i was never offered consoldication even with my poor credit. So far, no issues with them. But still, do you research, you may learn something i dont know.

I have been using credit keeper hsbc for about 6 months with no problems. They allow you to see your current credit report & scores quite often. They seem to be a little slow with alerts though.

I have used Credit Keeper for 4 months. I had their $9.99 billed to my HSBC card monthly. Recently I have been trying to get the balance down on my card, so I have not used it at all. I received my last statement and saw 3 $9.99 charges for the past month! I pulled my file and other statements where to my dismay I discovered that they had been charging me atleast twice a month for this service. I immediately called the customer care dept. to cancel credit keeper hsbc service and they tell me that they only charged me $9.99 a month, and that HSBC has been overcharging me. So I cancel, and call my credit card company. They tell me they will only refund me $20 (I am owed atleast $50) and when I ask them why this has happened, I am rudely told that I should contact Credit Keeper with that inquiry. Credit Keeper is a division of HSBC, and they both have a stake in this scam. Upon some research on the web, I discover this same exact ploy has happened to thousands of others, and the only way to stop it is to actually cancel the card. STAY AWAY FROM HSBC CREDIT KEEPER!!![/font]

I have two accounts with Credit Keeper - one for myself and one for my husband. Each is billed to a different debit card account rather than HSBC's credit card. That way I will see more than one chargewhen I balance the statement. I triy never to allow the credit card company to add services to my account. Travel clubs, overdraft protection, payment protection are all means by which CC companies reap additional revenue off their customer base.

Think about this: Every CC in your wallet represents $25,000 in profit to the CC provider over the lifetime of the account. If you carry a balance, there's interest; if you sign up for any of the offered services, there's a monthly fee for each service; if you go over your limit, there's a fee for that; if your payment is late, there's another fee for that. And if additional cards are held within the family, tack on an additional $25K per card.

Best bet: Treat every CC in your wallet like an American Express Card....they bill monthly and the bill is payable in full 'cause they generally don't let you carry a balance. The temptation to spend more than you can afford any given month isn't there.

Hope this helps.

I have used my credit keeper account for over two years. I get an updated credit report monthly with all three credit scores. It???s a good sight to get information on maintaining you credit. Links to each of the credit reporting agencies to dispute incorrect information. I highly recommend using a credit monitoring service. CreditKeeper is a little slow in reporting changes. I have never had a billing problem with billing issues.

I have been working on my credit score, since I already have hsbc crediit card, i went with credit keeper, i have had it for a year at $9.99 a month and have had access everymonth to a new credit report, and I have found there advice, tips and explanations very helpful, have no complaints. And you can discontinue the service at no charge any time.

Hi,

This is to let you know that credit keepers are some of the added facilities that the credit card companies provide...something extra!!! .Now,it completely depends on the customers as to how much they are of interest to them .If you want to spend an added fee ,its fine with you,if not an extra benefit is not required!!!!!!!!!!

Do Not Pay the $6.99. Just call and say you want to cancel hsbc credit keeper and they reduce the Price to $6.99. I Just Cancelled my account and that was their attempt to save the sale.

I have been using Credit Keeper almost 4 years now. Wouldnt have any other service. $9.99 is not bad to pull your credit every month and not get a hit on your credit. Credit Keeper is so accurate. Just as accurate as the credit is on your bureau. My score is usally only about 2 points lower in credit keeper than it actually is. If you want scores thru the credit bureau they charge you each month. Credit keeper gives me all that. And the simulation lets you know where your score will be when you pay bills. TRUE credit from Transunion was 2 months behind on my credit bureau. Even though it comes from Transunion its behind. Free Credit Report.com, I dont like paying $24 a month to see my credit. Love Credit Keeper and will always keep it. The tracker there from Experian lets you see your new score before you get your new report. Credit keeper does not proclaim to do credit repair or consolidation, its a way for you to see your credit. I love it.

CreditKeeper - Are consumers satisfied with the program? I have used CreditKeeper for several years. I have never had a problem with them as far as billing. They guided me to forms and let me correct some of the mistakes on my report. The thing that has helped me the most is helping me understand how and what affects my credit score. Things I thought would help my score actually hurt it. Once I read some of the information provided by CreditKeeper, I knew what to expect and how long it should take to get my score back up. Instead of reading a blog, see if you can get a 30 day trial and take a closer look at what they have to offer. And no, I don???t work for them. I have used them and found they really are worth the $9.00 a month.

I have been battling with Credit Keeper for months now and I'm thinking about calling the State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. The problem began when I changed banks and entered the new bank account info on their site. Credit Keeper cancelled my account citing billing issues on Aug 17, then billed my new bank account on Aug 27. They have continued to bill my bank account every month. I have called numerous times to try and correct the problem but I'm told that my account is not being charged and that they were showing a "credit" to my account every month. One of their reps actually suggested that I was mistaking the credits for charges. I have sent bank statements to prove the deduction. The DEBITS clearly show HSBCCreditKeeper on the bank statements, so there is no mistake in who is charging my bank account.

As far as I'm concerned, this is Fraud and Theft. I am being charged for a service that I'm not receiving and this company has made no effort to stop it as of today. I have thought about having my bank reject transactions from Credit Keeper, but I'm still waiting for an actual CREDIT from them.

For those of you who have had good service, keep your eyes open and your fingers crossed. Good luck if you have any issues, these people are difficult to deal with.

For anyone else out there who has had the same or similar issues, perhaps we should try some kind of action on a large scale. Maybe then someone will pay attention.

I have had CreditKeeper for 4 years. I love the service. I would not use any other credit monitoring site. I find that the credit reports are current. I have tried other services. The one I chose from Transunion was behind on their reports and this was supposed to be from Transunion. The report was older than the one I paid for from transion. I have never had a problem with CreditKeeper. The site does not state that they are a credit repair site. The state they are credit monitoring. This is two different things people. Some of the other sites are charging $25 a month. This site is good. My first month was free. I cancelled once and then rejoined. My first month was free again. I did not cancel because of the site. I cancelled because I was off work. I joined CreditKeeper again and again got the first month free. My reports are updated and there each month with no problem. My reports match the credit bureaus reports exactly and the scores are so close to the credit bureaus scores, only a few points off. I love this service. I have to pay almost 7 or 8 dollars to get my score from the credit bureaus. With this site I get it for free. So dont badmouth CreditKeeper. If you are looking for credit repair then you don't need a monitoring service anyway.

If these credits are not to be taken for charges, what do they actually stand for? Did the rep try explaining that to you?

Did you try contacting the reps after dispatching your statements? I'd be waiting for a new explanation this time. Have you consulted your bank about rejecting such transactions?
