Bass & Associates 866-900-7694 Bank Fraud

I am having the same problem with bass&associates aka bass enterprises aka bass prelitigations to the threats job harrising everything ,So far I have paied them $450 and I owe 600 more and they want me to pay them $150 every week untill this is paied off. But I dont have an extra $150 to pay them and I am not going to fall behind again on my house payment again because of them . Any one have any advice? I talked with a guy Mr. Hagan yesterday and when they called my office they said they were from Lewis St.. John. Then when I called them back it was Bass.

What shoul I do, I am worried sick about this. I do want to pay them money back but I can not do it like they want me to though.

Have you made them validate to prove they actually have the debt? This company has committed several violations in regards to the fdcpa. They have threatened people, harassed people. Do not send them anything more til they provide you the proof they actually have the account. Make them send the proof certified mail with return receipt. Do you know who the original creditor is? Do not be worried about this. This company is running a big scam and people who scam, do get caught. You also need to make the AG in Florida aware of this. Be sure when you file the complaint, you give all names that has called you, list all the threats, etc that they have done.

listen, i have dealt with these folks also. the only thing they told me is that a civil case could come of this. now dont get me wrong, they can be abrasive but i have been sued and rec'd a judgement so i just wanted to get this taken care of. but what is truly disturbing on this forum is that the moderators seem to only try to fuel a fire that doesnt exist. tammy, your gross negligence as a moderator is truly disturbing. look i am just reflecting on my personal experience, and it was nothing like some people here are stating, and the moderators on this sight seem to be drumming up propaganda based on a general hatred of collection agencies in general. therefore should be ashamed of themselves. IMO

I asked them to sedn me a letter about 2 weeks ago and never got anything . Yesterday I sent them another $150 and ask for a letter I will just have to see if I get one from them. The creditor that I took out a loan with was FSM group Bass say that I have two accounts with them. Should I get a lawer involved?

I do not agree with the above guest. Every-thing that has been written in here about this company IS true. I have notrcvd a rcpt for my pmt. Have filed with the Florida Generals office. Every-ones topic and how they are saying things. I sexactly what i heard too. These people are nasty. I am not paying them another dime...

Do not send them another dime.. Heres another web-site i found budhibs.com go to that site. it shows many illegal collectors there.

Does anyone have the number to the AG office were I could make a complaint? I am suppose to make another payment to them in the morning but I really dont have the money. I asked them for a letter about 2 weeks ago and got nothing, Has anyone ever got a letter from them? They said that what I had done was a mister meaner and that if I did not pay I was going to jail. Do I need a lawyer.

I don't think so...I haven't read yet that anybody received one. I know I asked for one several times and didn't get one. I asked verbally though, I never did send a letter because there was some question as if the address was legit or not.

You know people do not ask for their situations. Yes when the goods or services are provided you do accept them with open arms but not with the thought of "I plan on defaulting and not paying back what I owe".
I am a single mother working 2 jobs to pay back what I owe. I cant speak for everyone but you make it seem as though we are all here trying to get a way out not to pay what we borrowed. When I came here, I came here for support because I had a collection agency calling me and harrassing me at work and telling me lies. I was frustrated and did not know where to turn. I don't and am not looking for loop holes. There are people here that have been down my road and there are strategies that they used to fight back and that is why I am here. I am willing to pay but I am not willing to pay all of these outragoues fees. I have done collections and the way that these collectors are calling and harrasing people is un-called for. I learned as a collector if I want someone to pay I am not going to degrade them or harrass them, why because I have been there and situations do occur. Maybe you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, well I wasnt and I am out here making an honest living and I have every intention on paying back what I borrowed, not what they say I owe.

Glad to know you would do anything to get your money...does that include threatening people with arrest and threatening to send people after the person.
You know people do make mistakes and bad decisions in life, and not everybody tries to ignore them. Everybody who comes to this site is seeking help and advice on how to correct or gain control of their problems.

Hmmm sounds like SICK OF YOU guest is having a hard time collecting money at work today. Could it be a Bass & Associates...or whoever that place is, worker is a little upset....If you pay your bills and everything is fine and dandy, than why are you on this website, just leave these people alone. Or better yet, why don't you become a member and offer advice as to how people can better themselves finacially so they can be perfect like you.

I too had a bad experience with Bass Enterprised, deading with Shelly Young until I spoke to her supervisor. I had a payday loan which I couldn't pay back with Platium Bk. She said I could pay $100 today and $228 from my next 2 pension cks. I'm just trying to make sure they are legitate. Ths.

Just make sure you get the debt validated before you send them any money. You want to make sure you see a breakdown of how they got to the amount they are wanting you to pay. They are required by law as a collection agency to send you something in writing verifying the debt.

I got a call today from bass and associates saying that I was going to be arrested for a PDL, I asked the rep from "processing" if I could pay it when I get paid, and she said..NO! I was going to be arrested tomorrow if I didnt pay the full amount+ the fee's. I did take out the loan, but after losing my Job I fell on hard times and couldnt pay back the loan. Will I really be arrested? :cry:

You definately will not be arrested. This is a common threat among the collectors. Do not send them a dime. Make them validate the debt. I guarantee that they will not validate it. Next time they call, tell them they are in strict violation of the fdcpa in regards to issuing threats. collection agencies are not allowed to threaten anyone. You need to file a complaint against them with the Attorney General of Florida.

You can not be arrested for this! you can be served and have suit filed in a civil court. Are you sure they said that would have you arrested. Ask to speak with management and have them validate the debt.

I asked to speak to management for them to validate teh debt.. and they responded.." Oh I see you just dont want to pay... okay say goodbye your going to jail. Then i said to them.."I just want to see why a 300 dollar loan has gone over 800 dollars, I told them I didnt feel comfortable with that... they wouldnt fax me over anything they just demanded me to pay or they would have me processed. I called the Attorney General in florida and they said I wouldnt get arrested and faxed me over a form to fill out, for a complaint. Im just confused... I wont go to work today because I dont want to run the risk of something happening at my job...

Nothing is going to happen at your job. They are a scam collection agency that thrives off of threatening people and stealing peoples hard earned money. Be sure to fill out the complaint form that the AG sends you and be sure in the complaint to list the persons name you have talked to, time of day they called, what was said to you.

Thank you for helping me Tammy. I feel much better now... I can come out of hiding...LOL! To be honest I did pay some of the loan back, but when I missed a payment thats when Bass called and said all this stuff.

Tammy is absolutly right, nobody is going to come arrest you. I myself received a ton of those calls at my job and they even went as far to get smart with our secretary. I to was scared at first and I kept watching the door thinking an officer was going to come in and get me. After finding this site, I felt so much better and starting laughing at myself thinking about how scared I was. Several people have been threatened by this company and I have not heard of one person who was able to get something in writing validating this debt. So please file these complaints with the proper people, AG's office, the FTC and whoever else. These people need to be stopped and the more people who complain hopefully the faster they will do something.

I just filed a complaint with the Florida State AG office re: my recent experience/shakedown with Allison Potter at Bass & Associates in Jacksonville. I am also filing a complaint with the Dept of Financial Regulation too. I am appalled at the number of violations this woman committed.

Yes defiantly file those complaints, these people are crazy and really need to be stopped. The more complaints, the faster something will happen. Good luck with everything.

Should I still request a debt confirmation letter from Bass, after the fact? Although she said I would receive a letter in 5-7 days indicating my account is in good standing, from what I have read here, no one ever gets those letters. Thanks.

It wouldn't hurt to request it, I haven't read about anybody recieving one...But maybe a miricale will happen. Good luck with everything and keep us posted.

I got a call at work today from Bass and Associates. My situation REALLY is a little different. I took out a loan for $200.00 and the money wa direct depositred into my account like I said it would be on the day i said it would be. That morning I get up check my account to find that there are to NSF fees but my money is there. I sent them an e-mail that very day. Didn't understand and would be ahappy to send them a copy of my bank statement and please sne dback through. They send me an e-mail saying no can do. I offered to fax over the bank records to prove I wasn't lying they said too bad and sent me to ICOLLECT that day. Well, I called I collect who then called three days later and said I was to call Bass and Associates. Now, I'm not sure who to pay. A pay day loan of $200.00 is costing $535.00. They threstened I would be pciked up by the authorities. Anyone have any advice?

ohmy, it looks that the collectors are playing their dirty games on you. Whoever is authorized to collect the debt from you must give out accurate info about the debt. Federal laws forces the collectors to follow the debt validation rule mentioned in the fdcpa. Don't pay anything until you get the specific information about the account. Be well versed with the laws here and draft a letter to the company through certified mail. You need to get the following info from the collector mentioned in this link.

I also received a phone call from Sara Neusingbam at Bass, saying that i owe $700, and that i have to send 500 by friday. Well like so many others i know that i owe the money, and would be more than willing to pay them the 700 for a loan of 150 that i took out. But i am mother of 4, and dont have an extra 700 to pay AT THIS MOMENT there should be other options. I was also threatned to be picked up on site. Why would they threaten me if i am willing to set up something to pay it? I have been in tears because of this, me and my husband have been trying to figure out what to do. I have some of the money but not the whole thing. After reading the posts on here i am leaning towards not sending a dime until i receive written documetation. She also said she would call Dallas County and have me processed, that i would have three charges against me, and that it was us national bank, is that a federal/government bank for real? I need a little advice. Should i not worry and just go on about my normal day, and file complaints against them?

You must go ahead and file your complaints with the legal bureaus. When people from Bass and Associates call you, be strong and tell them that you have complained against them with your local AG. You are aware of their illegal activities and won't send them money before reviewing the debt account they are collecting for. You must have something in writing from this collection agency. They are giving all threats on phone. If they are doing a legitimate collection, they should give you the info first and then attempt collections. Bass and Associates is violating the laws everywhere. Read more posts here and don't feel sad. You are wasting your tears on someone who doesn't even deserve it.

They are just trying to scare you, please don't send them one dime until you see something in writing. I would definatly want to know how a $150 loan came out to $700. Everybody in the forum has received the same threats as you and not one of us has been arrested. What they are threatening you with is very illegal and if they continue I would suggest reporting them to your attorney general and the ftc as all of us have done. Don't back down and don't be intimidated because that will only make them come at you harder.

I called them myself today...@1-800-281-2224, and told her what i knew, and what i have been told about her threats. Just like everyone else stated i was hung up on, so thanks for the advice i appreciate it. This forum has been extremly helpful to me and my family. The company is doing illegal activities. Report them to all places you can think about. The authorities will take actions only when they get complaints in bulk. We all have to continue fighting for our rights.

I've tried to settle my debt with Bass and Associates, they've been harassing and intimidating me at work and leaving mean messages. I've talked to a Kimberly and she said I would lose my job or they are going to send paperwork to the my state office for fraud. They really floored me. They want me to send more than what i currently owe. I've asked to to pay in installment payments and they would not budge. They said it needed to send a moneygram by 2pm or else. I've been scammed already for a loan I had applied for and sent in money thru western union and I never received my loan. They wanted more money before I could get it. Anyway, Bass and Associates have been harassing me and teling me they will tell my boss or they will send my paperwork for fraud to our state office. Help. Should I send the money or get a lawyer and the Attorney General? Who can help me out there?

DO NOT SEND THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY!!! This lady is LYING. You will not be charged with any crime, this company is infamous for collecting illegally. You NEED to contact the FL AGs office and file a complaint, you can go online and do this, they will contact you AND you need to file a complaint with your own state's AG office. Yes it is. They are know for their illegal collection activities. Did you go to the FL AG's website, you can file a complaitn online with them, this company used to go by Ellis and Crosby
