Here are just a few of the numbers that this company calls from. I get about 4 calls a day from them starting at around 7am cst all the way up to 10pm.

903-891-1102 607-321-0205 866-882-5879 866-882-5878 870-772-1835 870-216-4090 732-982-3947 443-550-7974 434-878-9980 201-210-6127 410-968-7961 201-210-6114 201-210-6117 214-233-7246 201-210-3618 443-550-7973 703-291-9028 443-550-7979 210-586-0050 443-550-7975 888-516-3287 703-398-0002 757-209-2013 804-234-9027

They tell me every time they call that they are going to file suit against me for school loans I owe and that if I do not send them money or set up post dated payments they will garnish my wages.

They are federal, and yes they already have the garnishment and have had it for over 7 months now, they also have got my income tax for 2 years, yet they still call every day and threaten me with garnishment.

i've been picking up and hanging up on them for 2yrs now b/c it didn't matter how many times i explained to the rep that the person they were looking for wasn't here...they kept calling...at ALL hours. so now during the day i just let it ring to VM...today they left a call back # so I used that and told the rep that answered the story and she put our phone number on a blocked list.

This company calls my house 5 times a day every day and they never leave a message. The number that shows up on my caller id is 804-234-9027 which I tried calling back but I get a fast busy signal. I did some research and found they are a collection agency but I am not in collections so I do not know what they want. A MESSAGE WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!

OK...as to phone number...here's the deal. They call from ONE number, leave another number for you to call them back, but NEITHER are working numbers! You get a message that says you have reached WAM, then are promptly disconnected. I have written the letters, called the FCC, done it all. They STILL call me asking for "whoever handles the affairs of the late..." and it is someone I have never even heard of. All the letters in the world don't seem to stop these people! Here are the #s I have received. Perhaps someone can investigate? I have tried all I can...
1-866-597-4781 and... 1-866-497-4778

West Asset Management called me repeatedly at 4 am, and then sent offensive text messages to my phone at odd hours, including one that said: "Hell na niga." I'm considering a lawsuit.

I have been paying West Asset Management and I do not see my bill decreasing. I don't want to call because all they do is keep you on hold and try to bully you into something that you cannot keep. How do I get a financial copy of my payments/balance?

I received a letter that they have consolidated payment centers at West Asset Management, Attn: Payment Processing, 7171 Mercy Road, Suite 200, Omaha NE 68106.
Is this correct?

Anyone who needs to contact me has my address and writes me a letter. Obviously they don't.

This company calls me numerous times a day. They are trying to collect a debt from my deceased (3 yrs) spouse. The Estate was probated long ago and had no assets, was basically insolvent (if that's the right word). Now yrs later they call constantly leaving message for the person handling the affairs of the late (spouse). I haven't called them back and really don't want to deal with this. It's a constant reminder of the loss and every time I hear my late spouses name on their message it leaves me sick to my stomach. Without having to speak with them is there anything I can do to make them go away?

Funny I just read something about a debt collector sending out thousands of letters stating they where collecting on dead people.

Read about it here and maby do the same with the letter that he has there, just format it to your needs.

Note to Worker27, you apparently work for or own interest in West Asset Mgmt if you have anything positive to say about them. In fact, you even sound like the idiot at West that I talked to yesterday. Disgusting piece of Trash!

I was contacted today by them, but it was a recording for me to call them back at 866 822 8878. They called me at work too, which I believe is illegal in TX. Funny thing is that I just cleared up my credit 2 years ago...evidently there are some companies out there hurting from the financial crisis and are looking to collecting debt in illegal manners and even on the dead to make the payments on their expensive homes and cars.

Do a google search to find the names of all the execs, search:

david lippman west asset

It also has a phone number listed (310-966-8900) at their posh office in LA (on Wilshire blvd), I am going to figure out a way to forward their calls to that number as well just like one of the previous posts did.

I don't know what debt they are collecting on. I don't answer recorded phonecalls...that would be responding to phishing. They can mail whatever litigation or claim that they may have. Either way I have never heard of them and owe them nothing. If they allegedly bought some debt that I allegedly owe, that is not my problem. That is basic debt law, you only owe the original creditor, nobody else. I have practiced that for years while paying off my debts. There is nothing they can do unless you empower them by verifying your information with them. debt collectors operate on a thin line of true legality and the common misconception of legality.

Sure they can, but not without your knowledge or offiicial notification. Otherwise anyone with the slightest knowledge of your debt can call, claim to be someone they aren't, ask you for your information that they should already have, and then ask you to remit payment. 7/10 people fall for it, which is what keeps certain debts collectors in business. Threats of lawsuit are always tossed out, but unless you owe more than a certain amount, they will only pursue for so long.

E-Books? No. It is called a lawyer. Weren't you the one keeping folks from bashing on others in earlier posts? Why are you hating on my comments? Odd behaviour from an admin.

Credit apps and monthly statements. You know the slick little pieces of paper that they stuff your statement with? That's your notification. Your knowledge is when you default on the account. Not trying to get on a soap box and I'm not "hating on your comments" (WTF?), trying to keep other people from taking your attitude, dude

West Asset Managment has various offices across the US. The Gov't Services Group has 4 locations, there is Fredericksburg VA, Marrieta GA, Mobile AL and Warsaw NY. The Sherman address above is for the Medical Collections I do beleive. BTW, West still services the DOE and just won a contract from them again.

West Asset Mgt called my elderly mother today about a medical bill that is past due which she has been paying on. They threatened to run her credit and then pull money if they find she has any in her bank account. Is that not illegal? There is no injunction or court order against her, just a less than 90day past due hospital bill. When did we revert to criminalizing people for debt? Especially in this economy. I thought debtor laws were purposely made less restrictive because many immigrants to this country had been jailed in debtors prison. I know I am an historian and not a hacker but this made me want to crash their computer system and mess with a few people's credit reports myself. I usually don't feel that way either.

This has to be the number one least professional company on the planet. They REFUSE to provide a copy of the alleged bill they are attempting to collect. They refuse to listen. They say that they don't buy junk dept. They want me to prove that I don't owe the dept they are trying to collect, but they have to be uneducated morons because they WILL NOT SHOW ME THE DEBT or disclose much info about it. I said, "show me a bill that shows the services that were provided to me and I will pay." THEY REFUSED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I take their calls on bad days to elevate stress. If they want to hear me vent they can call when ever they want. Talk about absurd. If they call you, don't waste your time. They like to act scary and powerful and they like to throw things out like "they are a billion dollar company." They can't hurt you. Just send the letter and record away if they keep calling. I, by shear luck, had my attorney at my home tonight when they called. I put West ASSet on speaker. When the call ended all my attorney could say was, "Now there's a company who knows how to put money in my pocket." We laughed.

For maximum damages AS ALLOWED BY THE fdcpa, as well as SUING THE OWNERS, GENERAL MANAGERS AND STAFF for PUNITIVE DAMAGES ''for Mental and emotional stress, ALL THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS and anxiety THEY HAVE CAUSED YOU,

Just remember folks, CORPORATIONS are "legal ficticious entities" and cannot act without an individual causing it to act".....so go after the "individuals" as well....preferably the owners by name, CEO, PRESIDENT, OFFICERS, etc.

Address it to the CEO, All Officers, Management and Staff,

Advise them to either comply with your request for accurate, and complete VALIDATION of the 'alledged debt" in accordance with all FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS as well as the fdcpa, or you intend to sue not only the company, but each individual in authority at the company and hold the company and each individual both corporately and individuallly liable for continued harassment and inflicting mental and emotional distress.

Hey this has worked for me ! Sometimes you only get their attention by threating to get into their "personal back pockets"

Call Dean Malone, Attorney, Dallas, Texas. He will most likely get you a settlement. Strictly consignment. West Asset harrased me for years over a false debt. They had to pay dearly. Dean Malone is very familiar with West Asset. Also, reference West Asset at Ripoff Report.com
